Sophie Smith had already removed the cast from her foot. Although walking was still sowhat inconvenient, she was no longer seriously hindered.
She had been cooped up at ho for too long, and going for a picnic with them seed like a good idea. But now, Irene probably wouldn’t want her to join.
"Miss Smith, are you really not going to join the young master for the picnic?" Nanny Garcia asked from the side. In fact, Nanny Garcia was a shrewd servant. The picnic was suggested by the young master, who was usually incredibly busy. Why would he randomly suggest such a thing? It was clearly because he thought Sophie was bored, but he didn’t want to lose face by inviting her directly.
"Yeah, my leg is a bit inconvenient." She said with a smile and looked up.
Asher Land’s face darkened. If she didn’t want to go, what aning did it have for him to go?
"Well, Sister Sophie, take a good rest at ho. Honestly, I really wanted to go play with you." Irene smiled subtly, happy she could finally have so alone ti with Asher Land.
Sophie was about to say sothing when Asher spoke up.
"Sophie, usually Irene sees you as a sister. She just wants to have a picnic with you, and you’re finding flimsy excuses to dodge?" Asher said with a frown.
"I..."
"Being a person, you need to have principles." Asher articulated each word clearly.
For such a trivial matter, must he bring up personal principles?
"Get ready; we’ll leave at ten. I’ll wait for you." Asher spoke these words to Sophie.
"Brother Asher, but Sister Sophie’s leg..."
"Don’t worry. For you, what’s a minor injury to her?" Asher smirked, looking quite smug!
"Well then, Miss Smith, I’ll help you upstairs to get ready. It’s such lovely weather; don’t just stay cooped up inside." Nanny Garcia gleefully helped Sophie up and started heading upstairs.
Half an hour later, Sophie ca down from upstairs.
Robert Williams and Nanny Garcia packed the things needed for the picnic into the RV. Sophie was limping and just about to follow them into the vehicle when unexpectedly, Asher rushed out and scooped her up into his arms.
"Later on, don’t say I have no heart. Right now, I’m your legs." Asher whispered softly in her ear.
Sophie turned her head away in frustration; she simply didn’t want to talk to him.
Asher nonchalantly carried her onto the vehicle.
The picnic included five people; driver Robert Williams and Nanny Garcia, who prepared the materials, joined in too.
The picnic spot was chosen in the picturesque outskirts, undeveloped, with natural beauty — clear streams, lush woods, and vibrant grass, making one feel refreshed.
Sophie got out of the car, took a deep breath of fresh air, and felt considerably more at ease.
Seeing her satisfied look, Asher couldn’t help but smirk as well. It seed these days indeed had bored her to death.
Nanny Garcia spread a picnic cloth on the ground and took out the picnic basket, arranging all the food orderly.
It seed like today would be a smooth and pleasant day, but within just ten minutes, ’unexpected’ occurrences began.
Irene quietly pulled Sophie aside, looking a bit embarrassed.
"Sister Sophie, did you bring sanitary pads? I just got my period."
"Huh?" Sophie shook her head, "My period just ended a while ago, so..."
"What should I do then?" Irene stomped her foot in frustration. She finally had the chance to go out with Asher, and now this hassle popped up.
"What’s going on?" Asher looked puzzled, wondering what these two won were whispering about.
