Eva Miller turned around, and when she saw the two people getting out of the car, she was startled.
"Dad, Mom...why are you here?"
Father Miller and Mother Miller hurried over to Eva, and Mother Miller took Eva’s bag and rummaged through it for a while, pulling out Eva and Luke Land’s marriage certificate.
"Eva, we heard from Sophie that you want to divorce Luke?" Father Miller’s face was stern, "Such a big decision, how could you not tell us and act on your own?"
Eva looked suspiciously at Sophie, "Sophie, how could you betray ?"
"I..."
Sophie knew Eva was determined, and she felt helpless, so she enlisted Father and Mother Miller. After receiving the call last night, they drove to Eastern City overnight with the intention...of stopping Eva and Luke Land’s divorce.
"Dad, Mom." Luke, standing aside, suddenly walked over and greeted Father and Mother Miller.
"Luke, it’s Eva who is being unreasonable, don’t agree with her, this marriage cannot end." Father Miller seed a bit grave.
Luke chuckled lightly, half-lowering his eyes. He didn’t want to divorce her either, but since she was insistent, he felt powerless.
"Mom, give the marriage certificate, we have to complete the paperwork today." Eva reached out to take the marriage certificate, but Mother Miller hid it in her own bag.
"I’ll keep this marriage certificate for now. Anyway, your dad and I both disagree with the divorce."
"Mom!" Eva felt genuinely hurt, her parents and her best friend were all siding with Luke Land, how could she resist?
In front of so many people, tears uncontrollably stread down her face.
"Dad, Mom, give the certificate." Standing aside quietly, Luke finally spoke, walking over to Father and Mother Miller to ’request’ it.
Mother Miller felt troubled, clutching her bag tightly, unsure of what to do next, so she glanced toward Father Miller, who only shook his head.
The group stood at a stalemate at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, attracting a growing crowd. Eva and Sophie were public figures, so naturally, they drew attention standing there. So onlookers had already taken out their phones, aiming to take photos.
Asher Land instinctively pulled Sophie into his embrace to shield her from the cara lenses.
"Eva, don’t just stand there, it’s not good to cause a scene." Mother Miller tried to persuade her.
Eva hesitated for a long ti, finally straightening her posture and heading toward the parked cars, but instead of getting into Luke’s car, she got into her parents’ car.
Father and Mother Miller looked at Luke with so guilt, "Luke, I’m sorry, I’ll go bring Eva down imdiately."
With that, Mother Miller got into the car to persuade Eva.
"Eva, you should go back with Luke, see, if you keep causing a fuss, Luke will really get upset."
"Mom, I’m already upset, okay?" Eva’s face showed discontent, "Who is actually your biological child here? Your daughter is feeling wronged now and wants to go back ho, is that not allowed?"
To say Luke Land had really wronged Eva, Mother Miller didn’t quite believe it. Knowing her daughter’s temper, she knew that when Eva was fiery, probably no one could handle it.
