This isn’t the worst of it. The worst part is, the tycoon who possesses the ’Heart of the Ocean’ insists on handing her over to the police.

She has a long criminal record, each charge severe enough to put her behind bars for life.

If she is handed over to the police, her life would be finished.

Annie proposed many conditions to let her off, but the tycoon remained unmoved.

To avoid going to jail, she had no choice but to reveal her close relationship with Tao Hua, hoping the tycoon would give her a break for Tao Hua’s sake.

Whenever Annie steals, she prepares thoroughly and naturally gains a clear understanding of her target’s background.

She knew that Tao Hua had done a favor for this tycoon when he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had lost all hope of surviving, and Tao Hua cured him.

She thought that calling on Tao Hua’s na would get her off the hook.

Sure enough, the tycoon imdiately called Tao Hua to confirm, and Tao Hua arrived the next day.

Annie sat on the sofa, listening to the two of them chatting amicably.

"Mr. Zhang, I know the cri of stealing the ’Heart of the Ocean’ is serious. But could you do a favor and forgive her just this once?"

"Dr. Tao, you’re too kind. You saved my life, so I would naturally agree to your request. However, the ’Heart of the Ocean’ is my wife’s beloved. She planned to steal it, which made very upset. Pardon my presumption, but may I ask, what exactly is your relationship with Miss Annie?"

His implication was clear.

If their relationship was unusual, he would consider letting Annie go.

If it was just a common acquaintance, he wouldn’t easily let her off.

"This..." Tao Hua looked at Annie with difficulty, and Annie imdiately clung to his arm, leaning close like a delicate bird, her beautiful eyes filled with so deep emotion.

"Hua, I know I was wrong. In the future, I promise to stay by your side obediently, and never cause you any pain or sorrow again."

Tao Hua raised his eyebrows slightly, and Annie made a pitiful expression, sorrowfully saying: "Is it that you no longer like , no longer want ?"

Upon hearing this, the tycoon understood their relationship.

"So she’s Dr. Tao’s loved one. Since she’s a woman Dr. Tao cares for, I won’t make things difficult for her."

Annie heard this and was secretly delighted, but still felt a bit uneasy.

She worried that Tao Hua might expose her, not help her.

After a few seconds of silence, Tao Hua looked at her and asked, "Will you truly obediently stay by my side from now on, listen to , and never make angry again?"

"Yes!" Annie squeezed the word out between her teeth.

"And what if you repeat the offense?"

Annie t his cunning eyes, knowing he was doing it on purpose.

Now, had she escaped from the tiger’s mouth only to fall into the wolf’s den?

However, this wolf probably wouldn’t eat her.

Weighing her options, she very honestly said, "If I repeat it, you can do as you see fit."

Tao Hua nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

He turned to the tycoon and said, "Mr. Zhang, my woman has offended you. I apologize on her behalf, hoping you can be magnanimous and forgive her this once."

"Dr. Tao, don’t ntion it. You have done a great favor, a trivial matter like this, I won’t mind at all."

Annie couldn’t hear what they were saying.

In her mind, Tao Hua’s phrase echoed incessantly—"my woman."

Even though she knew he said it to save her.

She couldn’t help but wonder, in his heart, had she really beco his woman?
