Seven Murray couldn’t take it anymore. She knelt on the ground and cried continuously until she woke Christopher Scott. Seeing his own ss and looking at Seven’s tearful appearance filled him with irritation. He put on his clothes and just said to Seven, "I drank too much, I thought she was you."
With that, he went ho, thinking that just because he said so, Seven should believe him.
However, Seven loved him so much, such a big incident happened, how could "I drank too much" be a sufficient explanation?
Christopher Scott’s attitude dealt a heavy blow to Seven and made her doubt his feelings for her even more.
After Christopher left, Ava Mason indifferently threw her own comnt, "Christopher never liked you, he just needed a sidekick."
Upon hearing this, Seven cried even more miserably, spending the whole night sobbing alone in the suite where Christopher and Ava had slept.
She thought Christopher would co find her, give her an explanation, co and comfort her.
However, she waited for three whole days, and Christopher offered no explanation. He lived his life as usual, seemingly unaffected by the incident.
Seven’s heart was shattered. On the fourth day, she packed her things; on the fifth day, even before boarding the plane, she was still waiting for Christopher to give her a proper explanation, for him to co and comfort her.
But she waited for nothing, and she knew that Christopher was fully aware of her departure, yet he didn’t co to stop her.
Seven broke down completely. From the mont she boarded the plane until she disembarked, she cried the entire journey without receiving a call from Christopher.
During the seven years she was gone, she waited for him every day, waited for him to co fetch her back, but in the end, it was she who ca back on her own.
Upon returning, she had to face his difficulties and unspoken rules, and Seven was utterly disappointed, feeling like she had wasted her youth.
Thankfully, she t Ian Hobbs, who made her feel not so humiliated, made her realize that soone could still like her.
Seven years later, faced with Christopher’s explanation, Seven managed a bitter smile. She looked at Christopher and calmly said, "Christopher, it doesn’t matter anymore."
"Seven, don’t be like this, please. I know my apology is late, forgive , okay? Give a chance, I will definitely make it up to you." Christopher, once again, grabbed Seven’s small hand, unwilling to let go, unable to bear letting go.
Seven bit her lower lip, trying to pull her hand back, but couldn’t.
In the end, she gave up struggling, letting Christopher hold her hand.
She took a deep breath, looked directly into Christopher’s eyes, and smiled, "Christopher, I rember I told you, if one day you upset , you must co to comfort , no matter what mistake you made. As long as you comfort , I will forgive you. But if you don’t, I will think you don’t like anymore."
Then, she exhaled a long breath and said, "I don’t know if you forgot, so you never ca to find . That night after you left, I cried beside the bed you and Ava had slept in, all night long."
"I cried while imagining you were about to co, that you would hold and say, ’Seven, I’m sorry, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have drunk so much, shouldn’t have mistaken soone else for you.’ But my tears dried up, and you didn’t co."
"Later, I told myself, maybe you’re in a bad mood, maybe you’d co to find tomorrow, give an explanation, comfort . But I still didn’t wait for you, and instead, you played ball with the others, discussed work with them, completely forgetting , utterly forgetting ." Seven couldn’t help choking up as she spoke about Christopher forgetting her; she felt heartbroken, wondering why she had been so stupid back then.
"When I bought the plane ticket, I deliberately let it be known that everyone knew I was leaving; they all ca to see off, except you."
"At the ti, I suspected, does Christopher really not like , not want anymore? Why didn’t he co to see off? Was he afraid that if he ca, I wouldn’t leave? Did he actually get together with Ava, taking this opportunity to cut ties with ?"
"Christopher, back then, my feelings were a hundred tis worse than yours are now. Do you know how much I despised myself back then? Why was everything I thought and longed for about you? Clearly, you were the one at fault. Why did you act as if I should understand you?" Seven cried as she spoke.
Seeing Seven’s tears, Christopher’s heart ached so much he could hardly breathe. He swallowed, trying to control his own emotions, holding her small hand tightly, apologizing, "Seven, I was wrong, I was an idiot, I shouldn’t have made you so upset. Give a chance, let’s start over, I promise, I won’t make any mistakes again, never again."
Listening to Christopher’s apology, Seven hated herself, hated her own weakness, hated herself for shedding tears in front of him.
She lifted her right hand, the one not held by Christopher, to wipe her tears, saying, "Even when I went to New York, I was still waiting for you, waiting for you to co get . Do you know how many nights I woke up from excitent, only to realize it was all a dream?"
"Yet your life beca increasingly exciting. Without , you lived better and happier. You completely forgot what I told you; you forgot to comfort . And the reason you forgot is that you never cared about in the first place. Even so, I still kept dreaming."
"I also thought about coming back. But I was afraid, afraid that when I ca back, I’d see you with another woman, so I kept avoiding, kept telling myself, maybe once you’ve tired of playing, you’d rember , co to get ."
"But, Christopher, I didn’t wait. Do you know how long seven years is? I waited from nineteen to twenty-six, my best years were spent waiting for you. In the end, I waited for nothing. This ti, even though the others offer to help , you wanted to impose unspoken rules. What do you take for?"
Christopher, listening to Seven’s accusations, placed her hand on his chest, anxiously explaining, "Seven, it’s not like that, I didn’t live well, those news stories were deliberately stirred up by , just to get your attention, hoping you’d co back to deal with . As for the cooperation, I was out of my mind to say such things, don’t be mad at , please? I really know I was wrong, Seven, don’t be so heartless to leave , okay?"
Seeing Seven crying, Christopher was almost brought to tears too. The Seven he knew almost never cried; apart from that night in the suite, he rarely saw Seven cry.
Seven said she had cried so many tis, yet he knew nothing about it, knew nothing about her sorrow. Christopher felt deeply guilty.
Indeed, he had forgotten the words that Seven had once told him, until she brought them up again. Seven indeed had said, if he ever made her sad, he must comfort her, and she would surely forgive him; if not, she would take it as he no longer liked her.
Christopher felt he deserved to die, for how could he forget such important words, how could he make Seven wait for seven years?
Christopher regretted deeply, and at this mont, he could finally understand through Seven’s words her expectations and despair. He truly was damned.
