But one thing’s for sure, Elijah Reed is a gentleman. When he saw her belt was loose, he actually turned around and covered his eyes. Ella Turner thought Elijah was so adorable.

After so inner turmoil, Ella took a deep breath, quickly walked up to Elijah, and pulled his arm to explain: "Elijah, you scared just now, that’s why I accidentally loosened my belt. I really wasn’t trying to seduce you."

Ella’s explanation was clearly a case of protesting too much. She really hadn’t intended to loosen her belt, but she did want to seduce Elijah.

Elijah listened to the girl’s explanation and got embarrassed, not daring to look her in the eye. He just nodded perfunctorily and said, "Mm, I know."

Ella continued to explain, "So, I’m not a casual girl, you know?"

"Mm, I know." Elijah continued to murmur embarrassedly, but what puzzled him was why Ella would explain so much to him?

Seeing Elijah not daring to look at her, Ella grabbed his arm, took two steps closer, raised her head, and stared directly into his eyes, asking earnestly, "Do you really believe ?"

"Mm, I believe you."

"Mm, actually it’s like this. I’ve never had a boyfriend. I’ve never properly held hands with a man, except for my brother’s hand." To prove her good girl status, Ella explained once more.

Elijah listened to her explanation and asked puzzled, "Then what’s improper?"

Elijah was inexplicably interested in this term, really wanting to know what improper ant.

Looking at his serious eyes, Ella said earnestly, "Improper ans not a formal hand-hold, but holding hands because of protection."

Carefully, she added, "But, the only improper hand-hold I’ve had was with you."

"Swish..." As soon as Ella finished speaking, Elijah’s face turned red again.

Elijah felt his heartbeat accelerate to the point of exploding, wanting only to flee from Ella’s room to find a quiet place to catch his breath.

So, he nervously raised his right hand, scratched his head, and said, "Then you should rest early, I’m heading back."

Elijah anticipated that if he stayed any longer in Ella’s apartnt, he would pass out from nervousness.

Such a thing would be too embarrassing for him to let happen. So, leaving was the best plan.

Seeing Elijah about to leave, Ella quickly spread her arms and blocked his way, pouting, "No way, you just promised you’d stay and sleep with ."

Elijah panicked, his face turned pale as he hastily stepped back a few feet, loudly protesting, "I did not."

Seeing Elijah’s nervous deanor, Ella wished she could smack herself for the slip of the tongue.

Seeing Elijah about to leave, she quickly explained, "Slip of the tongue, what I ant was, you promised to leave after I fell asleep."

Feeling awkward, Elijah found an excuse, "You’re in pretty good shape now, no need for to accompany you."

Elijah, having been around Liam Spencer, hadn’t picked up any of Liam’s boldness. He glanced at Ella’s body, flustered and at a loss. If it were Liam with Maya Spencer making advances like this, he would have taken her up on it long ago.

Yet, Elijah was still looking for reasons to go ho, no wonder he’d been single for so many years.

"Elijah, do you really dislike ?" Ella was upset, pouting, sulking towards the bed, and sat down, looking down and twirling her fingers.

Today Elijah kept avoiding her, although it was kind of cute, it still sowhat hurt her self-esteem.

Although she was a bit forward today, she hadn’t actually done anything to him! Nor confessed, he was just overly nervous for no reason!

Elijah stood at the bathroom door, watching Ella’s sudden change in mood, flustered. He thought, why are won so difficult to handle? He never said he disliked her. He was just nervous, alright?

Seeing Ella unhappy, Elijah couldn’t bear to continue being contrary to her.

He worried that if he left forcibly, Ella might think everyone disliked her, hated her.

So, he compromised again, saying helplessly, "Then I’ll wait until you fall asleep before leaving. You should go to sleep soon!"

As he spoke, he remained standing silly at the bathroom door, not intending to sit down, but planning to stay that way until Ella fell asleep.

Seeing him still guarded towards her, Ella angrily said, "If you don’t want to stay, then leave! I don’t need you to stay, you’re not even my own brother anyway."

She was playing the emotional card, knowing it was sowhat despicable, yet she just didn’t want Elijah to leave, just wanted him to accompany her.

Hearing Ella’s complaints, Elijah was embarrassed, standing there, unable to decide whether to leave or stay, finding won more and more difficult to deal with.

After the atmosphere had been tense for a mont, Elijah saw Ella still sitting on the bed not moving, at a loss.

So, he awkwardly asked, "Then how does your brother accompany you?"

Seeing him fall into her trap, Ella chuckled to herself, but still put on an unhappy face, turned around, and said pitifully, "When I was in a bad mood, my brother would tell stories."

"..." Elijah was troubled. He had never liked listening to stories since he was a child, let alone telling them. He would be more comfortable solving math problems.

But, in order to get away sooner, he had no choice but to compromise, "Then you should sleep, I’ll find a couple of stories and read to Arya."

At this mont, the corners of Ella’s lips curved into an increasingly discernible smile.

She thought, Elijah probably doesn’t hate her, right? Despite her excessive flirtation, if Elijah truly disliked her, he could simply refuse. After all, the guy wasn’t soone who couldn’t stand up for himself.

Therefore, Ella deduced that Elijah sowhat liked her, otherwise he wouldn’t have always taken care of her, had als with her.

With this in mind, Ella grew bolder, quickly crawling to the center of the big bed, leaning back, patting the empty spot beside her, saying, "My brother always sat next to to tell stories."

Taking a deep breath, Elijah slowly walked over to her pink bed, feigning nonchalance as he sat down.

He complied with all of Ella’s increasingly "excessive" requests.

Seeing Elijah sitting on her bed, Ella’s smile grew even brighter.

Then, she rolled over onto her stomach, looking straight at Elijah, grinning foolishly, "Elijah, you can start the story now, I’m going to sleep."

"Mm!" Elijah agreed, not eting Ella’s gaze, but looking down at his phone, searching for a story.

He quickly chose a story, then read from his phone, "A long, long ti ago..."

On the big bed, listening to Elijah’s gentle voice, Ella felt an inexplicable excitent, her emotions growing more intense, with no urge to sleep at all.
