On the other end of the phone, Kinsley Spencer was sowhat surprised to receive a call from Jane Spencer. He hadn’t expected the arrogant Jane would take the initiative to call him.
He originally thought Jane knew this in advance, but it seems Liam and Jane really don’t get along; the siblings haven’t even discussed such a big matter.
Since there’s going to be a stir, let them stir! It’s better than having nothing at all.
So, without thinking, he said, "Okay."
"Weren’t you keeping an eye on those two new projects before? Get them done as quickly as possible. I’ll talk to Aron Hanson here and have him lend us a hand." She didn’t tell Kinsley she was planning to see Maya.
After all, Maya is an ace in the hole. If she speaks, Liam will surely listen. It’s better to ask Maya than anyone else, let her whisper in Liam’s ear. As long as Liam gives up, she won’t have to struggle so desperately.
But at the mont, she doesn’t have much confidence in Maya. After all, Maya holds no use for her anymore, and she doesn’t like her aunt.
Nonetheless, she still dialed Maya’s number.
In the apartnt, Maya looked at Sister Jane’s call, her lips curled slightly into a sudden smile.
After smiling, she leisurely answered the call and lazily asked, "Aunt, what’s up?"
"Maya, let’s et up at noon."
"About the acquisition, right? Sorry, I don’t get involved in work matters. If you have issues, just find Liam directly."
"Maya, you can ask for whatever reward you want after this is done."
"Aunt, my uncle is quite capable of making money. Why do you fuss around? It’s fine if he supports you. You’re not going to starve."
Maya really didn’t understand Jane’s struggles in her career. Isn’t it just about money! Earn as much as your ability allows! What is the point of doing things that exceed your capability? Isn’t it just self-torture?
"Maya, it seems you’re living quite comfortably. Aren’t you afraid Liam might leave you?"
"I’m not like you, I can retreat and advance as I choose. Even if Liam leaves , I’ll just get a job and make money myself, and won’t starve to death." Maya lazily answered, leaning back on the sofa.
If Sister Jane didn’t have so many thoughts and obediently stayed ho to support her husband and educate the children, such an aunt would be fine.
"Heh, what’s the point in saying more when we don’t agree." Jane, seeing Maya unwilling to help her, angrily hung up the phone imdiately. Her mind started to ruminate again, pondering how she could avoid living life by others’ whims? How could she make everyone submit to her just like Liam?
However, achieving such results openly was impossible, so she could only take an unorthodox approach and a risky tactic.
Therefore, she simply tossed all responsibilities to Kinsley.
Kinsley was unlike Jane; he didn’t have as many cunning tricks, so he naive persisted, dragging his father along, desperately trying to stem the tide.
These past days, Second Young Master Spencer had already helped Kinsley secure quite a few project investors, and what comforted him was that, after years of inactivity, his old friends still gave him so face.
At this mont, in Watt Spencer’s office, just after hanging up a call with an old friend and exhaling in reassurance, the office door was knocked.
He calmly said, "Please co in."
"Charlotte!" The person who entered startled him, causing him to hurriedly stand up from his chair to greet her.
Charlotte Owen looked at the flustered man in front of her, coldly laughing, "Still the sa after all these years."
"Are you here for sothing?" The man asked nervously, seemingly quite afraid of Charlotte.
"I’ll get straight to the point. Liam wants to acquire the Spencer Clan; Jane’s already not handling company matters. You and your precious son should stop stirring things up and quickly sign the shareholder resolution." Charlotte said angrily.
"Charlotte, don’t be reckless. The Spencer Clan can’t be acquired, otherwise where will Kinsley go?"
"Watt, are you sure you want to oppose ?" Charlotte was displeased.
"Charlotte, back then, I was wrong, I wronged you and Noah, but I can’t disregard Kinsley’s livelihood; he is my son after all. How’s Noah doing?" Watt struggled, faced with the overbearing Charlotte.
Regarding their past, he was helpless. He had failed Charlotte, disrupted her life, leaving her to wander with Noah.
Logically speaking, he should heed Charlotte’s requests, allowing her so peace of mind, but he couldn’t neglect Kinsley.
Back then, Old Master Spencer arranged his marriage, yet he eventually fell for Charlotte, constantly promising her that he would divorce and give her a ho. Even after Kinsley was born, he never proposed divorce.
Charlotte completely lost hope, ceased contacting him but didn’t terminate her pregnancy, choosing instead to bring the child into the world alone.
Later, after Kinsley’s mother passed away, he tried finding her several tis, hoping to give her a ho, but was consistently rejected by Charlotte, who from then onward never engaged in a relationship again, raising Noah alone to this day.
Listening to Watt’s explanation and greetings, Charlotte coldly replied, "You still rember Noah? I was afraid you’d only rember Kinsley as your son. If you truly care for Kinsley, you’ll quickly sign the resolution. I can let Kinsley lead a subsidiary; if you wait for Liam to act, you know what will happen."
"Charlotte, can’t you talk to Liam and have him abandon this acquisition plan?"
"Watt, the older you get, the more disgraceful you beco? I’m telling you, you owe Liam a lot. You finally have a chance to prove yourself; don’t be so oblivious." Charlotte exploded, seeing him trying to turn her against herself.
"Charlotte, what do you an by your words? When have I owed Liam?"
Seeing Watt’s utterly confused expression, Charlotte took a deep breath, walked up beside him, and grabbed his collar, whispering sothing secretively.
Instantly, Watt was stunned, falling limply onto his chair in disbelief.
Looking at the shocked man, Charlotte gave a cold laugh, picked up her handbag from his desk, and walked out.
In the office, Watt was like in a daze, his mind blank, muddledly grabbing the phone and dialing Kinsley’s number, weakly saying, "Kinsley, stop stirring things up, sign the shareholder resolution."
"Dad, what’s going on?"
"We can’t win against Liam; if he acts, we’ll have no chance at all. Once the Spencer Clan is acquired, you should still be able to keep your current position, no need to worry."
"Dad, do you know sothing? Why change the plan suddenly?"
"Kinsley, don’t ask." Watt finished and hung up, powerlessly sitting back onto his chair.
On the other end, after hanging up the phone, Kinsley fell into contemplation. Even though he was unwilling, he had to admit he couldn’t actually defeat Liam; even Jane has given up, so what’s the point in persisting foolishly? Therefore, he picked up the shareholder resolution and signed his na.
After that, he called Jane, telling her he surrendered and she could do as she wished.
Upon receiving the call, Jane imdiately went to Kinsley’s office and signed her na on the shareholder resolution sheet.
