"The food is ready." After a mont, Maya Spencer knocked on the study room door to remind him.

The more nonchalant Maya appeared, the more uncomfortable Liam Spencer felt, and he even had a desire to get angry. However, he couldn’t find a good point of conflict, so he had to suppress the fire inside and stood up from the desk to go to the dining room to eat.

Beside the dining table, after laying out the dishes and chopsticks for him, Maya said nonchalantly, "You eat first, I’ll tidy up after you finish."

At this mont, whenever Maya saw Liam, she felt disgusted and didn’t want to look at him more than once, so she avoided him whenever she could.

The man looked at the girl’s indifference and beca increasingly irritated, thinking that he hadn’t seen her for a week, and so many scandals had erupted. Didn’t she have any opinions? In the past, she would argue at least with Charlotte Owen and Lydia Jones. Now, no matter how Liam looked at her, she seed like a soulless dead person.

He wouldn’t tell Maya that those photos were staged by him, and the scandals were also deliberately leaked by him. He even purposely returned ho early today with the aim of stirring things up with her.

After a whole week of having no communication with her, Liam couldn’t hold back any longer.

Every day when he ca back, she was already asleep. Sitting at her bedside watching her live so easily and freely, he almost wanted to strangle her to death.

But every ti it was just a thought; he never laid a hand on her.

Today he finally made up his mind to co ho early, yet she was still in that sullen state, which made him uncomfortable.

Watching Maya’s back as she headed for the guest room, Liam suddenly slamd the chopsticks onto the table with a "bang."

Maya was startled by the man’s anger and stood frozen for a mont before slowly turning around, frowning as she asked, "Is the food not to your taste? If so, I can order takeout for you."

The man listened to her voice, took a deep breath, and coldly said to her, "Maya, can you stop acting like you’re dying? It’s really annoying to look at."

Hearing the man’s accusation, Maya swallowed hard, her chest feeling heavy.

Ever since Liam found out about her secret crush on Lillian Morris, she didn’t know how to interact with him anymore. Whether she was happy or indifferent, he could always find faults and various reasons to be displeased with her.

She knew the problem wasn’t with herself but with Liam because she didn’t satisfy his vanity, didn’t like him, or flatter him like other won did, which made him uncomfortable.

But even if she tried to appease him, he would find a hundred reasons to reject her.

So, she took a deep breath, walked slowly to the dining table, sat opposite him, and calmly said, "Liam, maybe I should go back and stay for a while! I’ll co back after your mood stabilizes, okay?"

Liam listened to her request and suddenly laughed coldly. He asked, "So you think I’m going crazy, that I’m deliberately picking a fight?"

In fact, that was exactly the case; he was deliberately looking for trouble.

But Maya didn’t dare to admit it openly, so she cautiously explained, "It’s not that you’re going crazy, it’s just that you get upset when you see . You either don’t co ho, or when you do, you take out your anger on . That’s because you hate . Since I make you so uncomfortable, making you not even want to co ho, why keep around to make yourself uncomfortable?"

"So, what? I should let you out, give you the chance to seduce Lillian Morris, and break up my sister’s family?" Liam asked indifferently.

Maya felt like she was almost at her breaking point. Even if she had a hundred mouths, she couldn’t make things clear anymore. She had said that she only had a crush, just a crush. Why did he have to take things so seriously? She wouldn’t confess her feelings to Lillian, nor would she ruin Jane Spencer’s family, even though she didn’t like Jane.

Looking at Liam’s disdain towards her, Maya frowned tightly, opening her mouth several tis but stopping short. She couldn’t make it clear anymore.

She even began to wonder if Liam was even human, if he understood emotions at all. Didn’t he have a male or female crush in his youth? Hadn’t he secretly loved soone? Did he really have to make things so complicated?

Across the dining table, Liam watched Maya’s helpless expression and sneered, "What, did I guess correctly, and you can’t find an excuse now?"

"Liam, are you even human?" After saying this, she imdiately explained, "I didn’t an to insult you. I just think your mindset is too extre. Isn’t having a crush pretty normal? Why does liking soone have to an being together? I don’t understand why you’re so overreactive. Why do you have to think I’ll seduce Lillian Morris? If I wanted to seduce Lillian, I wouldn’t have left his apartnt back then. Didn’t you also like Grace once? Didn’t you forget about her? Isn’t it normal to like a few people in a lifeti? Why do you have to take it so seriously?"

For a mont, Maya felt she was becoming an emotional textbook, having to explain things to this man who was six years older.

Listening to the girl’s explanation, Liam raised his head, looked straight at her. He really wanted to ask her, since that was the case, when could she let go of Lillian, and when could she start liking him?

But this kind of question, he could only think about, never daring to say it out loud.

He never told Maya that he had never had a crush on anyone, not even Grace. His feelings for her were very calm. He had never cared for a second person as much as he cared for Maya. He admitted that he was indeed inhuman and abnormal.

At the sa ti, what troubled him more was that Maya had secretly loved Lillian for three years. After three years of not seeing him, her feelings had not diminished at all but had grown stronger, which terrified him. He was afraid he would never be able to enter her heart.

So he sarcastically asked, "A crush? You’ve had a crush on Lillian for three years; would you easily give up?"

"It’s not giving up; I’ve never thought about it," Maya answered with certainty, which was also her truest thought.

Liam looked into the girl’s clear, determined eyes and stopped entangling with him, then lowered his head to eat.

Seeing that he didn’t retaliate against her, Maya did not imdiately return to the bedroom but sat opposite him, watching him finish his al.

Not until dinner was over did Maya return to her bedroom, shower, change clothes, and then lay motionless on the bed, her life resembling that of the dead.

She hadn’t been lying on the bed for long when the door was suddenly pushed open by Liam. Hearing the noise, Maya sat up abruptly from the bed.

Imdiately, she saw Liam walking to the cabinet, taking out the first aid kit and sitting by her bed in silence, pulling out her left hand to check her injuries.

Every ti he saw the scars on Maya’s wrist, Liam’s heart felt like it was being pierced by a knife, but he had no way to completely ignore her.

Unaccustod to the man’s sudden gentleness, Maya retracted her hand and explained, "It’s already healed; there’s no need to change the dressing anymore."
