Terrence was still not recovered from the shock when the other side of the door opened.
Natalie, who had gotten very curious, decided to go outside to find out what they were looking at.
"What are you even staring a– Ahhhhh!" Natalie scread out loud when she saw what they were looking at.
Natalie’s face lost its color.
"W-what is that?" Her hands trembled as she pointed out at the man’s stomach. It was slightly opened. You can take a peak at the person’s insides and intestines.
There were flies everywhere.
Jas, who was frozen in place, decided to take a step forward to examine the body. He was the oldest, so he took the initiative.
That was the ti he got a more precise view of the man. The man was facing the side. There was blood on his forehead and neck that had dried out.
"D-Don’t tell cannibalism really does exist?" Natalie asked. She was scared and traumatized by what she saw.
Terrence, who was looking at the dead man, shook his head. "That can be possible, but I don’t think it’s this simple..." he uttered.
If that was the case, then the man lying on the ground should be atless by now. However, he only has bite marks and an open stomach.
There was nothing missing from him.
By the look of it, the death looked recent. As if it was done just a few hours or just earlier in the morning.
Terrence was weirded out. He couldn’t count how many bite marks were on the person’s body. The bite marks looked deep and painful. A few of them were purplish, while so had slight blood on them.
"Young miss, please stay in the car and call the cops. Wait for us there." Jas asked before he glanced at Terrence. He was worried.
Natalie knew she wouldn’t be of help, so she decided to do as she was told. She went back in the car and quickly took her phone out of her purse to call the police.
While calling, Natalie could only look outside. She was scared to go out once again.
"Why would soone do this?" Terrence asked all of a sudden. Based on the bite marks alone, he was sure that a human did it.
Jas tilted his head to the side. "I don’t know either." Even he was confused about it.
Terrence sighed. If this was a simple case of murder, then why would there be bite marks? On the other hand, if this was a case of cannibalism, then the person should at least have so missing parts.
But the person in front of them was complete and in one piece. There were also no visible wounds except those bite marks.
Jas looked around. Fortunately, there was still sun, or it would be extra creepy.
"Let’s go inside the car first. We don’t know if the person who did this is still here. We need to make sure that we’re safe." Jas instructed as his eyes flew to Terrence.
Even though Terrence wanted to investigate further, he decided to follow Jas.
Since there were only three of them and they were already more than halfway down the abandoned road, it seed dangerous to stay outside any further.
"Are you okay, Natalie? Drink so water first." Terrence was worried about Natalie’s welfare.
Her face was still colorless from the shock, although it had gotten better compared to earlier.
Natalie slowly nodded as she accepted the water that ca from Terrence. She drank so of it before facing Terrence.
"Thank you," Natalie uttered in a low voice.
Terrence nodded before placing a smile on his face.
"What did the police say, Young Miss?"
Hearing the question, Natalie’s eyes flew to Jas.
"They are on the way, Uncle. They should be here in a few minutes." Natalie answered.
Jas and Terrence nodded in unison.
"I’ll just move this car to the side," Jas inford them since they were still in the middle of the road.
He parked the car at the far side. It was a distance from where they saw the body.
It was the safest option since there were a few trees on there, allowing them to see everything clearly.
"Good thing you saw it, Uncle..." Natalie sighed.
Jas nodded. "I know. I haven’t been paying attention to the road since I received a ssage from your Dad. Fortunately, I was able to look at the road at the right ti."
Since the road was free earlier, Jas thought that checking a ssage on his phone would be fine. It was really fortunate, or else he would run over to that man.
After a few minutes of waiting and silence in the car, a loud siren sound suddenly sounded.
The three of them looked at each other and nodded. Now that the police are near them, they can get out of the car without any worry.
"I’ll go first to talk to them and explain what happened. You can just stay here if you want." Jas inford them.
Since he was the one who first saw it, then it was just right that he was the one to explain it.
"Take care, Uncle," Natalie softly said.
Jas, with a serious look on his face, nodded. He left the car when the police car appeared a few ters away.
"Do you want to just stay here, Natalie?" Terrence worriedly asked. He was worried that Natalie wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully at night if she went out again.
It was a traumatizing thing to witness.
"Yes..." Natalie slowly nodded. She doesn’t think that her curiosity will keep her at bay.
Sighing, Terrence stared at Natalie. "Alright. Bring a handkerchief with you. The sll is not that good."
"Okay," Natalie answered and took a handkerchief with her.
When Natalie was done, the two of them got out of the car.
Natalie held onto Terrence’s arms as they walked around.
Maybe it was because of the shock earlier that she was not able to sll the foul sll coming from the corpse. As they got nearer, the sll beca more pungent.
It almost made her want to puke.
Terrence covered his nose using a cloth that he found in the car earlier. It was to lessen the strong sll that was going inside his nose.
Terrence watched how the policen and other forensic people surrounded the corpse. They surrounded the area with a yellow tape and set up a barrier a few ters away.
As they got nearer, a policeman who looked as if he was the head among all of them greeted them.
"Natalie! I didn’t know you were the one who called."
