And Duncan doesn’t recognize himself as a center when averaging 25 , while Stoudemire considers himself a center but is not acknowledged.
Zhang Yang once again felt the unfair treatnt or discrimination Yao Ming suffered in this regard, just like the All-NBA and MVP, which are voted by the dia.
He saw a perspective that his unfair treatnt in these awards wasn’t as pronounced because he erged from the Arican basketball system, even though he didn’t play college basketball; he ca from an Arican high school without experience playing elsewhere.
He noticed that the dissatisfaction level among Arican fans regarding this matter is higher than among dostic fans... Aricans love big centers.
Nonetheless, Yao Ming was selected for the second team, as in previous years. No matter how the dia didn’t want to give votes, as long as Yao Ming could make the playoffs, the All-NBA team couldn’t overlook him.
Joining Yao Ming in the second team were Deron, Nash, Garnett, and Duncan.
Zhang San: The two No. 21 jerseys are together once again.
Hinrich, Ginobili, Nowitzki, Okafor, and Stoudemire jointly made the third team.
Okafor received only 4 first-place votes, one fewer than Boozer and Bosh’s 5 first-place votes, yet had more other votes, obtaining 142 points, 10 points higher than Boozer and 13 points above Bosh, narrowly winning a place on the All-NBA team.
Zhang Yang reviewed the All-NBA team roster again and noticed sothing—the All-NBA players this year were concentrated among the top five teams in the East and the top six in the West.
Out of these 11 teams, only 1 team had no All-NBA player at all—the Pistons.
This indirectly illustrates how strong the Pistons’ team dynamics are this season.
The Best Defensive Team discussions were also heated due to the inclusion of that man.
Kobe, Bowen, Jas, Garnett, and Duncan together made the First Defensive Team.
Paul, Raja Bell, Prince, Ben Wallace, and Howard joined the Second Defensive Team.
Jas beca the third active player after Kidd and Kobe to make the dual First Team backcourt!
Additionally, he beca the second youngest dual First Team player at 23 years and 5 months old, surpassing 24-year-old Kobe, with Duncan being the youngest at 23 years and 1 month dual First Team.
The public opinion concerning this was not what Zhang Yang anticipated.
Jas making the First Defensive Team drew less criticism and controversy compared to his All-NBA team selection; the main point of contention being the dual First Team, relating to the All-NBA team, with barely any debate over the First Defensive Team.
Upon seeing Jas’ defensive stats, Zhang Yang was montarily dazed—was he really that impressive?
This season, Jas allowed opponents just 99 points per 100 possessions, lower than Paul, Kobe, and Bowen, rivaling only the top-tier interior defenders.
Jas’ defense rating reached 6.5, which is at the level of interior players, even DPOY-worthy; Garnett only managed 6.7, while Duncan was lower at 6.2.
Zhang Yang saw nurous posts praising Jas’ defense, showcasing various explosive defensive clips...
Initially bewildered, Zhang Yang later figured it out.
Jas couldn’t guard Pierce or Anthony but was ferocious against Maggette and Artest; couldn’t stop Zhang San, Wade, or Paul but contained the likes of Baron Davis, Harris, Deron, Felton, Andre Miller, Iguodala handily; he could even take on so leaping power forwards.
Capable of defending most players and covering positions 1 through 4 is indeed remarkable, although his defensive impact declines during playoffs; the First Defensive Team is a regular-season award... upon further contemplation, Zhang Yang found Jas’s selection into the First Defensive Team hardly problematic.
The current Best Defensive Team was voted by team coaches; Jas earned this recognition through his regular-season defensive performance with their approval.
Though Jas seemingly only made the Best Defensive Team five or six tis, as he hit 30, his athletic ability and stamina declined slightly, leading to a drop in his defensive performance, hence coaches stopped voting for him-- he hasn’t made the Best Defensive Team since turning 30.
But Zhang Yang rembered, Jas seed to first make the First Defensive Team during his first MVP season 08-09, the first dual First Team, advancing by a year... maybe it was Zhang San’s fault... no! It’s Boss’s fault!
The Best Rookie Team topic in the U.S. was not particularly hot.
Apart from Durant, the 07 class didn’t feature particularly standout players.
Rookie First Team: Navarro, Durant, Yi Jianlian, Horford, Scola.
Rookie Second Team: Al Thornton, Thaddeus Young, Jamarrio Murray, Navarro, Landry.
The Rockets alone contributed three players, one lottery pick, one second-round pick, and one previous second-round pick.
The Best Rookie Team topic wasn’t nearly as hot as the buzz surrounding Oden recovering from injury and starting rehab...
...
In the afternoon, Zhang Yang participated in team training, and in the evening, Felton invited Zhang Yang and Okafor for dinner.
Sitting down in the restaurant, Felton began to jest: "You two made the All-Star, and it’s treating!"
Zhang Yang: "Then who should treat, Eka or I? We both made it; if we invited you and you’re the only one who didn’t, you’d just feel worse, right, Boss."
Felton was sowhat downhearted, but hearing ’Boss’... satisfying!
He shrugged indifferently: "You’re right, then I’ll treat... I’ve set my next goal! I’ve got to make the All-NBA once!"
