In the evening, Zhang Yang, Nash, and Gasol ca to Kobe’s other property in Beverly Hills for dinner and to watch the live broadcast.
Zhang Yang and Nash were quite puzzled about why they needed to change houses to watch the live broadcast, but after dinner, they changed into ’ga-watching jerseys’ and went to the room to watch the ga; they understood.
Originally, they thought watching the live broadcast in the hotel in Oklahoma City already offered an imrsive experience, very much like being in a fan club. Now, the hotel just seed like a hotel; no matter how ticulously prepared, it was still a poor ’model room,’ because Kobe had actually knocked through several rooms in one of his houses and renovated it to look like a club.
There’s a large living room with several small round tables and a real bar stocked with drinks;
There’s a reading area with several bookshelves filled with autobiographies of major stars and related magazines. Zhang Yang flipped through a few books, one of which had the signature and a greeting from a legendary player;
There’s a gym area where you can lift weights anyti; a ga area with pool tables, dartboards... and even a basketball shooting machine!
What surprised Zhang Yang the most was Vanessa dressed in a female bartender outfit, coming to the bar to ask ’the guests’ what they’d like to drink.
He was sowhat envious; a man’s childishness might never be cured. Generally speaking, having a wife or girlfriend who doesn’t mind is already great, and Vanessa, willing to accompany the old ironsmith in being silly... such a ’club,’ he also wanted!
The ga broadcast was watched with little enthusiasm; the East Final could be described as ’hurriedly ended.’
Nash complained: "The last ga the Pacers won, I thought they had a chance to defeat the Miami Heat, but they lost even worse than before."
Kobe: "Didn’t I say so? The last Pacers’ win was just an accident; they had no chance."
Nash: "Did you say that? I don’t rember; you also said you were looking forward to the performances of George, Hibbert, and West."
Kobe: "That was just a polite remark to the dia..."
The two veterans of the ’96 class started a banter, while Zhang Yang and Gasol went to the adjacent ga area to play a round of snooker.
This year’s Eastern Conference playoffs really didn’t have anything worth talking about, even the Eastern Conference Finals.
After Miami Heat found a way to win G2, they easily took G3 and G4. The Pacers narrowly won G5 with a score of 93 to 90 because Wade and Jas each had physical breakdowns: one couldn’t carry anymore, and the other suffered cramps from high-intensity defense midway through the third quarter. The Pacers seized the opportunity with a single quarter score of 31 to 15 to complete a coback.
Tonight, Jas scored 23 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks, Wade scored 26 points with 7 assists, and Bosh scored 25 points with 10 rebounds. The Pacers were trailing by over 20 points at halfti and didn’t have any successful counterattacks afterward. It looked as if they had given up, losing quite decisively, and their ability to handle pressure couldn’t compare to the Thunder Team...
After resting for a day, May 30th, the 6th ga day of Western Conference Finals arrived.
The Eastern Conference’s finalist team had already erged, and the eyes of dia and fans were completely focused on Angel City.
The dia, once again, demonstrated their fickle nature; after G4, they were all saying the Lakers would win the championship.
Now, they started hyping up that the Thunder Team would reverse the Lakers just like they overturned the Clippers in the second round.
They dissected the Thunder Team’s performances from G1 to G5 and concluded that the Thunder Team had gradually surpassed the Lakers in strength.
They even bestowed the title of ’Los Angeles Nesis’ upon Harden and Durant.
Anyone only following the news but not the overall scores would think the Thunder Team had already turned the tables!
