February 3rd, it’s the 48th ga day of the Bobcats’ regular season.
In the morning, Zhang Yang went with the team to the Staples Center to do pre-ga preparations. During the pre-ga eting, Carlisle announced they had signed a formal contract with Juwan Howard.
After securing two 10-day short contracts, Juwan Howard successfully stayed with the team, extending his contract until the end of the season.
Zhang Yang was quite satisfied with this signing.
The 10-day short contract generally isn’t just 10 days. According to regulations, it’s either 10 days or 3 gas, and the money earned is the sa. This choice is made when the player signs the contract.
Players usually choose 3 gas because they might not play every ga. With Juwan Howard’s two 10-day contracts, he appeared only 5 tis, and four weeks have passed without completing the contract. But renewal was inevitable, and renewing even one ga early ans more salary for one ga, even a base salary of more than ten thousand US dollars. Carlisle was using Boss Qiao’s money to do a favor.
In these 5 gas, Juwan Howard’s court performance was actually quite average, averaging 11.5 minutes with 4.4 points and 1.8 boards per ga, which is much worse than rookie Ibaka.
But his role within the team is significant!
Veterans lead the team in very different ways.
Before, Muhammad was a standard locker room leader. For teams like the previous Bobcats or the current Thunder Team, which mostly consist of rookie contract players, his role was of core level, able to adjust the team atmosphere well, guide young talents to do the right things, and lead the team in the right direction.
Hill is like a deputy leader. In a team with a clear locker room leader, he helps lead the team, and if the boss is injured, he can step up to be the court leader.
Juwan Howard doesn’t have these abilities. His way of leading the team is on the court, during team training, and internal training gas. He inspires and encourages his teammates with his love for the ga, maintaining their passion for the ga. His abilities in this regard provided significant help to the team’s enthusiasm and performance continuity during the grueling 17-ga schedule in January.
Plus, his catch-and-shoot is really accurate, with 48% on long twos and 46% from mid-range!
Of course, he has more weaknesses. His one-on-one play is long gone, he can only catch and shoot; his athletic ability has degraded, poor positioning, and it’s hard to create his own catch-and-shoot opportunities, making it harder for the team to execute tactics when he’s on the court; he’s a liability on defense...
Overall, keeping Juwan Howard was a good deal.
After the pre-ga eting ended, the Bobcats had an offensive positioning training session, concluding their pre-ga preparations, as they had already been done by yesterday afternoon.
After the team activities, Zhang Yang stayed to practice so extra long-distance shots.
On ga days, he usually doesn’t do extra practice, especially in mid-season.
In January, they played 17 gas, and even for him, it’s tough without proper rest. His training ti last month was much less than in November and December last year.
This also caused the accumulation speed of shooting value to be much slower than the previous two months, much slower than he expected. Most of the ti, he could only rely on gas and team training to accumulate shooting value.
Today’s extra practice is because he’s just a bit short on shooting value, and he couldn’t hold back any longer, not being able to wait until the ga tonight.
After finishing the mixed catch-and-shoot training of 3 sets of 100 long twos and threes, the ’Gate of Trials’ finally popped up on its own!
"...Shooting value: 100023."
The requirent for the next trial has already been t with two tasks, and the extraction of 140,000 shooting value for random physical fitness is still ongoing.
He promptly ended his training. Once having accumulated enough, his mind was itching, and once the trial could be activated at any ti, that irrational ’sense of urgency’ disappeared imdiately.
...
The NFL playoffs ended the day before yesterday. The most unconventional quarterback in history, ’Big Ben’ Roethlisberger, led the Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat the Arizona Cardinals, winning the Super Bowl.
Roethlisberger’s nickna is ’Big Ben’, besides his first na being ’Ben’, it’s also due to his physique. He’s 196 cm barefoot, weighing 109 kg. When taking pictures with another ’Big Ben’, Ben Wallace, their sizes were almost identical.
His playing style is unique among quarterbacks — smashing through all interceptors ans bypassing them.
As ti moved to the evening, under the overwhelming promotion by the NBA, the North Arican sports fans’ attention focused on Angel City.
After the end of the NFL season, Stern set up a popular matchup as the first ga, having the Bobcats and the Lakers face off in the world-famous sports venue, the Staples Center.
If a matchup between the Bobcats and the Bulls was arranged, it would undoubtedly be the most-watched ga worldwide, but a ga between these two teams is the sa anyti. What the NBA needed at this ti was the most attention-grabbing ga within North Arica.
The Lakers and the Bulls, last season’s champions and runner-ups, are normally the most-watched teams in the new season, but when scheduling last sumr, Stern dismissed this option.
Stern’s eyesight was very sharp. Seeing the Bulls’ offseason operations, he knew they would definitely encounter various troubles in the new season, and their record would greatly decline, at least in the regular season. Initially, they could rely on their title as champions to gather significant attention every ga, but by the mid-season’s end, the Bulls are no longer among the most prominent teams in the dostic market.
