After realising the mistake she had made, Weiwei shook. “I’m sorry. I was too nervous, so…”
Kui Yi shook his head. “It’s fine. The ghost won’t be coming back for now. But… It’s never wrong for us to be careful.”
“Okay.” Weiwei carried Kui Yi as they slowly moved up the stairs. The blood dripped on the ground, dyeing Weiwei’s shoes. Finally, they arrived at the fourth-floor nurse station. However, they could see through the glass that it was vacant.
“This is bad!” Weiwei frowned.
“It’s fine.” Kui Yi said through his breaths. “Let’s go in first. There should be so dical supplies. I can… do so simple bandages.”
“Your wounds are so bad. What if it gets infected?” Weiwei was concerned.
“We don’t have ti. Carry
in first!” Kui Yi urged. The door was unlocked. Perhaps the nurse was lazy. After they got in, Weiwei placed Kui Yi down and started to search for the ergency supply. Finally, they found several large bandages and several bottles of glass dicine out of an eye-catching wooden box. Kui Yi accepted them and swiftly bandaged his wound. Even though it was rough, it was effective. This was not the first ti he did this. It was hard to imagine what the man had experienced.
Weiwei sighed when the bleeding stopped. She turned and tried to search for other dicines. However, when she glanced at the door, her eyes couldn’t move away. It was a strange feeling. There was nothing near the door. It was extrely clean, but she felt like she had forgotten sothing important. Then, Weiwei’s eyes shook. She finally realised why she felt like that. It was the ground!
The marble floor was so clean that she could see her reflection clearly. There was not a single bloodstain.
How was that possible?
Kui Yi was injured. Along the way, his wound kept leaking blood. His pants and shoes were red. With every step he took, he’d leave behind a bloody footprint.
Fear exploded in her mind. The anomalies that she ignored appeared in her mind. Ever since she encountered Kui Yi, she hadn’t seen another living human. From the second floor to the fourth floor… Not a single one.
In fact… the world was extrely silent. All human traces had been removed. The place was frighteningly quiet. Plus, it was unreasonable for his wound to keep bleeding like that. What kind of living human would have so much blood in their body? Most would have died from blood loss already.
Due to the dim lighting, she hadn’t noticed the issue of blood until that mont. From the looks of things, Kui Yi’s blood only gathered around him. It was just… enough to trick her. Therefore, the Kui Yi who showed up earlier was not a ghost, but this one was!
At that mont, Weiwei showed incredible constitution. Even though she hadn’t experienced sothing like this before, based on the ghost’s actions, as long as she kept playing dumb, she could survive. If she kept this on, she might find an opening!
“Weiwei,” Kui Yi’s voice ca from behind. “What are you thinking about?”
Weiwei reacted quickly. She looked around like she was searching for sothing. “I’m looking for dicine that can stop the bleeding.”
“It’s fine.” Kui Yi sighed. “The bandage is ready. I should be able to survive until the end of this mission.”
Weiwei’s heart relaxed. It looked like the ghost didn’t know that it had been exposed.
Weiwei turned around with a smile. She asked Kui Yi with concern, “How do you feel now?”
“Much better.” Kui Yi answered, “I feel a bit dizzy from the blood loss.”
“You should focus on yourself. Wang Changguo has departed to inform Lin Wan ‘Er,” Weiwei said confidently. “I’m sure he’ll co up with a solution.”
“Let’s hope so.” Kui Yi nodded. “I didn’t expect this mission to be so dangerous. This is my fault.”
“Don’t say that. This is not your sole responsibility. Furthermore, we have confird the ghost’s location. We have the upper hand.”
Kui Yi laughed bitterly and nodded. “You’re right. Can you fetch
a glass of water?” He licked his lips. “I’m thirsty from the journey here.”
Weiwei turned to walk to the kettle. She shook it. There was water. She poured a full glass of water and handed it to Kui Yi. However, to Weiwei’s surprise, Kui Yi didn’t accept it but regarded her with a funny look.
Weiwei panicked, but she didn’t show it. She looked at Kui Yi, confused.
At that mont, Kui Yi suddenly laughed. “So you already knew the truth.”
Weiwei felt the temperature drop. To make things worse, Kui Yi’s voice changed. His voice turned shrill. It was clear that a woman was speaking. She didn’t sound old but resentful.
“What… are you talking about?” Weiwei tried her best to force a smile, but her action betrayed her. The water in the glass shook violently, splashing everywhere. “Since your wound has stopped bleeding, we should… go and find the others. I know where they are.” Weiwei felt like crying, but she didn’t dare to.
“Bleeding…” ‘Kui Yi’ nodded. Then, with Weiwei watching, he pulled back the bandage around his stomach to reveal the three bloody wounds. Sothing moved inside the wounds. Then, the wounds healed with an impossible speed. They disappeared without a trace. The stomach was smooth.
“The bleeding has stopped.” Kui Yi held his shirt and looked up, smiling. The flesh around his face fell off to reveal a bloody mouth. His lips hung around his chin.
The glass slipped from Weiwei’s grasp. It shattered loudly.
