Chapter 268: Order

Xia ng walked over and sat on the wooden chair placed before the red curtain. The wooden bed was large, but the craftsmanship was incredible. The carved characters looked like they were alive.

The outstretched hand faced upwards. The wrist was placed on a silk jade lotus. The silk was embroidered with two playing mandarin ducks. The fair skin, tapered fingers and well-kept fingernails. This was a beautiful hand. Xia ng sighed. In her eyes, this hand should belong to a woman.

She looked up to stare at the figure behind the curtain. Even though they were very close, the curtain was like a solid screen blocking her gaze. It would be easy for her to lift the curtain but she didn’t dare to do so.

She placed her fingers on the wrist. It felt cold. Perhaps it was because she was nervous. The weak pulse travelled to her fingertips. It gave her so comfort. “Young Master Huang,” She asked calmly, “Your pulse is weak. Have you had a good rest?”

Monts later…

“I saw her up the high building. Good things are rare. How many pairs miss each other? In the lives of husband and wife, force is redundant. How many pairs can reach the end?” The lodic voice replied. Almost instantly, Xia ng confird this was the voice from the lake. It was similarly beautiful, sad, and strange.

If Butler Zhou were telling the truth and Young Master Huang was ill, mumbling nonsense was normal. After all, the mission goal had to be more than curing him. Even if that were the goal, they would have to cure his heart disease.

After a while, Xia ng asked, “Young Master Huang, do you still have the prescription we gave you last?”

“How many dragons and phoenixes can be together? The bliss in life is to be together in fate. Ask God. A breeze. Even the heavens have no answer.”

Xia ng finally understood why everyone went back, looking confused. No matter what was asked, the man would only answer in lyrics. Even though she couldn’t discern the origin of the lyrics, she could grasp the general aning. They were about love and couples who couldn’t be together. It appeared that Young Master Huang was troubled by love.

After thinking for a while, she stood up. She told the immobile Young Master Huang, “Young Master Huang, please rest. I’ll be leaving.” When she was almost to the stairs, the singing began again. It was sadder than before, “Sharing the sa heart. Sharing the sa ho in life and the sa grave in death. Even then, I shall be glad…”

Xia ng hurried up. She ran away. She could sense that the song was reaching its climax. Furthermore… the emotions of the singer were changing. It morphed from lancholy to desperation.

The oppression in her heart disappeared after she was out of the room. Young Master Huang’s singing appeared to carry so kind of strange magic. Each lyric pressed on her heart. It was very uncomfortable. Things were more complicated than she thought. The costus were just a front. They decided on the order. The real killer was the lyric.

Perhaps… when the song reached its climax, the player with Young Master Huang would be in danger. Whether he’d turn into a ghost was an unknown.

Based on the situation, things were not looking great. Young Master Huang could go berserk at any mont. And the person after her… She looked up. A figure in white slowly sauntered over. It was Jiang Cheng…

“Huff,” As he passed Xia ng, he harrumphed.

“He can’t die now.” Xia ng gripped her fists as she thought to herself, “Even though this main is horrible and shaless, he is quick on his toes and mind. I have three trump cards in this mission, and he is one of them. It’d be perfect if he can die with the people from Deep Red.” Xia ng stared at him as he disappeared around the staircase.

However, just as Xia ng turned to leave, she heard footsteps. They were very fast. Soon, Jiang Cheng ran past her and down the stairs. He had been with the young master for less than ten seconds.

“How…” Xia ng widened her eyes. The rest also looked at him like he was a ghost.

“Young Master Huang called for the next person,” Jiang Cheng slipped back into the crowd. He didn’t even reintroduce himself.

“Mr. Hao,” An Xuan glared at him darkly. His voice was dripping with ice. “Have you… forgotten sothing?”

“Hao Shuai,” Jiang Cheng poked his head out, “My na is Hao Shuai. I’m a model. I work in a KTV…”

“That’s enough,” An Xuan waved his hands. Everyone relaxed. He couldn’t be a ghost. No ghost would be so chatty. If he were a ghost, then the ghost was very good at disguises.

The person after Jiang Cheng was Qin Jian. Due to his attire, he had low confidence. He almost slipped as he went up the stairs. Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes as he watched Qin Jian. Fatty also noticed sothing. He looked at Qin Jian and then casually turned to the Doctor. A weird feeling overwheld his heart.

About ten minutes later, Qin Jian returned shakingly. However, he still forced a smile. After reintroducing himself, he joined the group. He was afraid of being alone.

The next person was Chen Qiang. Chen Qiang was visibly nervous. He grabbed the edge of his white costu until the edges were wrinkled. However, he looked determined, like a soldier going to war.

With everyone watching, he sighed and slowly walked to the stairs.

“The young master is tired already. Dear Dafus, we will end this session here,” The middle-aged woman suddenly announced.

Chen Qiang forced himself to stop. Then, he shivered. Fatty also sighed in relief for this young man.

On the way back, the middle-aged woman walked far ahead. This gave the travellers a chance to discuss what had happened earlier.

“That young master was sothing else,” Shi Liaozhi grumbled, “He was lying there like he was boneless. I couldn’t understand him at all, but the voice was definitely similar to the one from the night before!

“At least we can confirm he is a human,” He comforted himself, “That is good news.”

“Lying there?” Xia ng suddenly turned around, “Wasn’t he sitting?”
