The sky had beco dark, the city street had beco less busy, and the calls of the birds had lessened.
The world around the small ho of the Hughes family had gone into a blissful evening, but the Hughes themselves were far from blissful due to the show they were watching.
"No, Veronica!" Heiren cried out, his hands balled into fists as he bit the corner of his sleeve. "This woman! How can she co back to the sa abusive man who had hurt her several tis?! Doesn’t she have any sha?!"
"Don’t say that to a victim!" Coco interjected, but her eyes were glued to the television. "Victims don’t realize it themselves that they are in danger because they love their abusers, you know!"
It grew quiet for a mont, only for Cleora to cry out this ti.
"Arthur, you asshole!" The older woman sobbed out, grabbing the tissue that was sitting right beside Coco. "Stop flirting with other girls if you love her! What will Veronica think of you now?!"
"She will surely think that he’s not worth it." Zaque comnted, leaning his weight on the back of the couch, right behind Coco’s spot.
However, the show proved Zaque wrong when the next scene showed Veronica walking through the door where Arthur was seen flirting with another woman, but instead of thinking that Arthur is not worth it, Veronica cried.
"How dare you, Arthur?! You promised that you won’t do it again!"
"She’s dumb." The third husband comnted as he walked past, a tray settled in his hands. "But love can make people dumb so I can’t bla her.. Just say your best wishes towards the girl."
Of course, Alhai’s comnt went through one’s ear and ca out to the other.
He let out a huff and placed the tray filled with sweet treats on the coffee table before turning his attention to Zaque, who was still glued to the television.
"Why don’t you freshen up?" The third husband addressed the first husband, his eyes narrowed into a disappointed stare. "Go upstairs and take a bath, Zaque. Dinner will be cooked in half an hour anyway, so make sure to co down."
"Yes, yes, yes.." Zaque mumbled, waving a dismissive hand on Alhai’s way.
Coco and Cleora have been watching whatever is on the magic television for who knows how long, but it has beco dark outside.
They finished a couple of shows because whenever they finished one, the mother and daughter duo would leave their spots on the couch to walk one lap around the house.
Coco called it the reflection period due to the two of them chatting away about the show they just finished.
When the sky beca a gradient of pink, orange, yellow, and blue, Heiren had walked out of the kitchen to ask the pair what they wanted to eat for dinner, but he was dragged by Coco.
It was such good timing that the show they were watching just started, so now, Heiren is hooked and poured his feelings onto the main character.
"That girl just keeps on hurting herself." Zaque comnted, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "Can’t she just leave? She can, right? She has the money, the looks, the bags, and everything she might need."
Unfortunately, the mont Zaque walked through the front door, the show had also just started and was dragged by his beloved wife as well.
Quizen, Kairo, and Alhai were left alone to scramble around the kitchen to cook whatever they could because the original cook of the house was busy entertaining himself, his wife, and his mother-in-law.
Why was Kairo included? Well, Alhai pulled him out of his room and asked for his help.
"Psst, Alhai." The hybrid called quietly for the diator, peeking his head through the living room doorway and gesturing for Alhai to co over.
The third husband, thankfully, heard him and turned his attention to his direction.
Before he left the living room, he made sure to remind Zaque one more ti. "Go upstairs and take a bath, okay? You have to help and Quizen bake sothing."
And just like earlier, Zaque responded. "Yes, yes."
Alhai let out a sigh and left it at that, walking out of the living room to follow Kairo inside the kitchen to see what could possibly be the problem.
Back inside the living room, Heiren was sitting beside Coco and he was being comforted by Coco patting his back, the motion was slow and light, making sure that she’s not patting too hard.
"I’m going to be so happy once we get to the part where Arthur dies." Cleora mumbled, clicking her tongue as she continued to watch this nonsensical show. "He’s making that baby girl suffer so much, so there’s no way for him to redeem himself."
Coco humd, her eyes glued to the television. "But at least he still hasn’t cheated.. Physically, right?"
"Physically? What? Because he had already loved another woman other than his wife, but hasn’t slept with her just yet?" Cleora clarified, briefly flickering her attention to her daughter with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah." Coco nodded, smiling softly. "It sounds wrong, but he hasn’t shared a bed with that woman yet. Just Veronica.’
Cleora groaned, rolling her eyes. "If you put it that way, I can’t help, but agree."
"So, we all agree that a man sucks if he cheats and fucks other won than his wife?" Coco couldn’t help, but laugh, shaking her head as she continued patting Heiren.
"Unfortunately.. But the bar is already too low for this kind of show anyway." Cleora mumbled, sighing heavily.
Heiren and Zaque are still watching the show, but they couldn’t stop themselves from eavesdropping on the conversation of the mother and daughter duo right beside them.
It was bizarre for them to hear Coco say that as long as the male lead hasn’t slept with another woman, he can be redeed.
Is that where she draws the line? The two wondered, frowning ever so slightly.
