"I.. I an.. Yes..? There is a way, but— are you sure? Baroness Hughes and Baron Hughes would be upset if you wish to change your na." Kairo stamred out, a look of incredulousness in his face.

"I was asking if there’s a way." Coco said, her voice calm and dripping with slight amusent, "I didn’t ask what would be their reaction if I try to change my na."

Kairo imdiately shut his mouth and frowned, his purple eyes swirling with so many questions and Coco could see the disbelief that seed to overpower the emotions he was feeling at the mont.

"So? Is there a way for to change my na?" Coco asked once more, tilting her head and smiling at him.

".. Yes." Kairo answered truthfully with him forcing the words out of his throat, "However, since you’re a noblewoman, it would be hard for you to change your na."

"Oh." Coco blinked and slowly nodded her head, "But I’m not a noblewoman anymore."

"No." Kairo disagreed firmly and shook his head, "You are a noblewoman, the only heiress to Hugh Barony with wealth that is equal to Viscountess Charmin’s wealth." Kairo stated, his tone flat and monotone, showing Coco that he was serious.

"You say that, but.." Coco humd and trailed off as she looked away, "My parents already disowned two years ago. Are you not aware?"

Kairo’s eyes widened slightly and his shoulders grew tense almost imdiately, his hands balling into fists on his lap.

"Pardon..?"

"I don’t know if you did a background check on , but you should have known by now that I was the worst person you could ever et last month.. And.. Well, I had an epiphany and decided to change." Coco inford him as she skimd through the details.

"Go and do a background check on so you won’t be as shocked as you are right now." Coco suggested with a dismissive shrug.

"But.. That doesn’t make sense." Kairo frowned at her, "Baroness Hughes told to keep an eye out on you. It’s the only reason why I was hired and serving under Young Master right now."

Coco blinked owlishly.

Coco Hughes’ mother told Kairo to keep an eye on her? What? For what reason?

From what Coco rembered from Coco Hughes’ mory, she disowned Coco because she was abusive and turned ’dumb’ after getting married to the four diators— she thought that since the only their only child was acting like a ruffian, she may as well remove her from the family tree.

However, despite ’receiving’ Coco Hughes’ mory, all she could rember was how bad she treated everyone and how bad she was treated.

She doesn’t have any mory that she could call good or morable, only bad ones.

Apparently, one of the mories were Coco’s mother disowning and looking at her with disdain before spouting the words that made Coco’s behavior worse.

"Whatever the case, I was disowned." Coco said, her voice firm and stern as she narrowed her gaze towards him, "She didn’t like how I was before and I’m sure she just told you to keep an eye on because she wanted to know if I’m still the sa trash or not."

Kairo’s frown deepened, "Please don’t say that you’re a trash. You’re not one. I wouldn’t have ask you to marry if you were a trash."

"Well, I am one." Coco huffed out with a shake of her head, "Anyway, let’s drop the topic and answer my question."

Kairo’s eyebrows was furrowed, his lips pressed into a thin line, as if he was barely holding back his emotions, his hands clenched into fists, knuckles white with tension.

It was clear for Coco that wha Coco had just said did not sit well with him and he was struggling to contain his frustration, but is there anything he could do? He’s only an outsider, he doesn’t have the rights.

He can’t change what the mother and daughter had discussed, whether he likes the outco or not.

".. Changing one’s na can happen in the main city because the noble registry office will be in charge of changing your na because you’re a noblewoman." Kairo still inford Coco of what to do even though it was against his wishes.

"If you were a noble with a higher status, you would have to go through Earl Hilandro, Young master’s father, and reason with him why you wanted to change na." He quickly added to his previous statents.

Coco nodded her head along as he fill her head with important informations, letting him know that she’s listening.

"The royal family must have been generous for letting their subjects change their nas." Coco comnted, her eyes shifting from Kairo’s clenched fists to his face.

Kairo’s frown twisted into another expression, "The King doesn’t mind, but the Queen wanted to the system to be balance and had the law change. Instead of appealing the person in charge with money, the person who wanted to change their na need to have a valid reason."

"With docunts?" Coco raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, with docunts that held facts about the person." Kairo agreed.

"Goodness.. I don’t even know if I have my birth certificate with — wait, is that even a thing?" Coco blinked and stared at Kairo.

"Yes?" Kairo mumbled, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion as he stared back at Coco.

"Oh.." Coco didn’t expect that there would be birth certificates because the world she transmigated in has magic, was it wrong of her to get excited to think that she could have seen sothing else other than a certificate?

"Why do you sound disappointed?" Kairo tilted his head, narrowing his eyes at Coco.

"Just because." Coco replied and shrugged, "I have another question. Renaldo told about the hunters needing to get a license, would it cost a lot of money if I register as one?"

".. Pardon?" Kairo was taken aback.

Just what happened to the Coco Hughes he knew four years ago?
