After the banquets and festivals celebrating the Kingdom’s anniversary, the kingdom gradually returned to normal.

The students in the academy also returned to the academy.

Aristia had heard from Wade that Charlotte was still sick and she had paid a visit with her mother.

She had seen just how worried Wade and George were. They literally didn’t leave Charlotte’s side.

Aristia had been a bit relieved, thinking that her mother would help Charlotte since she knew the cause of Charlotte’s ill health.

But to her dismay, throughout the duration of their visit to Charlotte, Catherine never once ntioned anything. It made Aristia confused and unsure about what to think.

It wasn’t like she could ask Catherine why she didn’t say anything without revealing that she was the eavesdropper, so she could only keep silent.

But as the days went by and she found out through Wade’s letters that Charlotte’s health wasn’t improving and was instead getting worse, she began to feel a bit of unease.

[I heard she can hardly get out of bed now.] It was shocking to say the least.

[With the way things are going, Charlotte could die anyti. It feels like the person behind her poisoning took things even further this ti, accelerating her death.]

Aristia ca to this conclusion after considering a few things.

In the dream, Charlotte had died after quite so ti of being poisoned, but only a short ti had passed in the present world. This could only an that the mastermind behind the poisoning had decided not to hold back in this present ti.

This change was possibly because of the differences in this world now from before, influencing this world’s events like this.

[But there’s sothing I know that mama doesn’t know.]

In the end, Aristia made a decision.

The Oswalt Mansion was shrouded in a thick, gloomy cloud.

The servants moved quietly and spoke in low voices. None of them wanted to incur the wrath of their master who was like a living, walking, breathing ti bomb.

A group of maids quickly scurried away when they saw him coming from the other end of the corridor.

George didn’t pay them any attention. He held an envelope in his hand and as walking in the direction of his room with a small frown on his face.

His wife had beco sick for no reason. She already had a weak constitution and now that she beca sick, it looked like she would die.

It filled his heart with unease and fear.

Various physicians had examined her, but none of them could find anything wrong with her. They said that there was nothing wrong at all. George felt that he could go insane. He felt so helpless.

’I almost lost her before. Am I going to lose her now?’ He sent a silent prayer to Lord Nerin.

He stopped in front of the door. His gaze rested on the envelope for a second.

It was strange. He didn’t know why he had received this envelope. No. It wasn’t for him... but for his wife. That wasn’t the strange thing though.

He pushed open the door.

Charlotte looked up weakly at him.

If Aristia was here at this mont, she would have been shocked at how different Charlotte looked compared to the last ti she saw her.

Her skin had beco paler than before with a very sickly tone to it, and there were deep, dark circles under her eyes.

She managed a weak smile filled with heartache. It was only herself that could understand how she felt at this mont.

Her body felt heavy and she could feel the strength leaving her body constantly.

It was like she could see herself slowly losing her life.

’Why now, when we’re finally happy together?’ She closed her eyes, feeling them sting.

George took a seat on the bed beside her and grabbed her hand.

Charlotte opened her eyes and looked up at him.

George wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes with his thumb, before placing a kiss on the back of her hand.

Charlotte’s gaze landed on the envelope on his other hand.

"What’s that?" Her voice was weak and slightly raspy.

George followed her gaze and released her hand.

"It’s a letter that ca, addressed to you."

Charlotte’s brows rose and she asked him. "Who sent it?"

George shook his head. "I don’t know. It didn’t co with a na."

Charlotte was both curious and surprised. A letter for her that didn’t co with a na? She had no idea who could have sent such a thing.

"Should I open it?" George asked.

"Mm." Charlotte nodded.

George opened the envelope and took out the letter.

Their brows raised in surprise.

Instead of calling it a letter, it was better to call it a note. There was only a line of text in the clean, white paper.

Charlotte took the letter. The words in it surprised her.

She repeated its contents tentatively, "Go without tea." The note simply said. That was it. Nothing more, nothing less. What did that an?

George read the note. His expression showed confusion, trying to understand what those words ant.

However, the next second, his eyes darkened.

He turned to Charlotte who was still confused and said, "Don’t drink any more tea for now."

Charlotte nodded in confusion before it dawned on her. Her eyes widened at the implications of his words. She was being poisoned?!

But the only person who prepared her tea was... Natalia.

Her heart sunk and she laid back on the bed, thoughts spiraling.

At that mont, a knock sounded on the door.

"Madam. It is Natalia."

Charlotte stared at the door with disbelief. She regained her composure when the knock sounded again, looking at George.

George folded the later and tucked it neatly into his pocket. Then he gave her a nod.

"You may enter." Charlotte turned to the door and gave permission.

The door opened.

There was Natalia carrying nothing but a tray containing a teapot and a teacup.
