"But her highness certainly has a talent for it." When a girl around Aristia’s age said this, everyone seated at the table turned to Aristia.
So of them had indeed heard praises from the etiquette teacher about the princess’s embroidery skills. They couldn’t help but be jealous as all her tutors praised her for her impeccable manners and etiquette, intelligence and talent.
They had to admit that even though the princess was arrogant, she was smart. However, they had also noticed that she was no longer as bratty as before, in fact, there weren’t any new rumours about her anymore.
That had unleashed a new rumour among aristocracy about how the princess had changed.
Aristia smiled brightly. "My cousins are more talented."
She was just kidding. How could Beatrix and Serina compare to herself in skill?
"The princess is also talented." The girl insisted. "The first and second princesses are also amazing."
Beatrix and Serina also could embroider well, also being praised by the tutors.
"That is as expected of royalty. The princesses are very gifted."
Praise flew over the table from every corner. Aristia was beginning to get bored of the tea party.
The servants finally served the snacks.
Seeing the snacks reminded the children of sothing they had heard.
"I heard that there is a new developnt in The Vanilla Courtyard."
This piqued the interest of those present. Even Aristia listened to what the girl had to say. The Vanilla Courtyard was exceedingly popular among aristocracy and even the common folk.
"A new developnt?"
"I also heard about it. I heard that they devised a thod where they bring food to people’s hos when you... when you order."
"Really?"
"Yes. I have forgotten the word used to call it."
"They called it delivery service." Nova Kiran added.
"Ah..." The children nodded.
They were eager to learn more about this delivery service. Of course, they usually had the items they purchased sent to their hos and were quite used to the process. However, this surprised them as this involved food that had been cooked. They were curious about how the food would be delivered.
"I heard that they are still testing it out." Lauren interjected. "They don’t know if they will carry on with it." The children didn’t doubt these words.
They buzzed with excitent. They all hoped that the developnt would be possible, then they would be able to have the food in their qmansion without needing to leave.
The tea party ended after a few minutes and the young girls returned to their hos.
Aristia entered the carriage and the carriage exited the Kiran mansion. It rode along the streets of the capital but instead of heading to the Grand Duke’s Mansion, it headed in a different direction.
After a few minutes, it stopped at the building that was The Vanilla Courtyard. Aristia alighted the carriage and headed in, going straight upstairs to the floor ant for aristocrats.
Choosing a table, she sat down. Not long after, a brown haired boy approached her. He took a seat beside her.
A server ca imdiately and asked politely for her order. When he left, Aristia took the ti to observe the restaurant. Sotis, she would sit at the restaurant with the sole purpose of observing while having a al.
Especially since the incident with the noblewon mistreating her workers. Since her warning, none of the aristocrats had caused any trouble.
There weren’t much people in the aristocrat section. Aristia had also noticed the sa situation downstairs. It was understandable as it was the late afternoon and most of the commoners would have returned to their work. The restaurant was usually filled up and bustling at night.
It was quite peaceful now. The aristocrats treated the servers with an air of superiority, but they didn’t step out of line.
A slight smirk hung on the corner of her lips as she observed this. They wouldn’t dare to mistreat the servers after her warning.
Even though she was a child, they still had to bow their heads as she was not only the king’s niece, the Kingdom’s third princess, and the only daughter of the Imperial Prince and only Grand Duke of the kingdom, but also beloved. They couldn’t risk offending the Grand Duke just because of a re server.
"It worked," the brown haired boy stated in a low voice for only the two of them to hear.
"Of course it worked, Owen. Do you doubt my skills?" Aristia turned to him with raised eyebrows, watching him shake his head.
The server returned at that mont and served the food. "Here is your al, your Highness." He bowed, standing to the side.
"Thank you." Aristia nodded at him.
The server stopped in surprise, then quickly regained composure and bowed again.
In the Vanilla Courtyard, Aristia was treated with more respect than the others by the restaurant workers. They had no idea that she was the boss, but they had all heard about how she had defended the server from the noblewoman.
Not only the workers, but a lot of the commoners in the capital had heard of her actions. That gained her a asure of adoration from them. She, herself, was unaware of the fact that her reputation was gradually changing in the eyes of the common folk.
The aristocrats around were curious. Was that boy the distant relative of the Imperial Princess? That was the thought that went through their minds as they observed Owen. They had heard rumors that the Imperial Prince intended to adopt a boy from his wife’s side they had brought back, but nothing more had been said or done to prove that the rumor was true.
Though they couldn’t see his face due to the angle the boy faced, they could tell that he was handso. His clothes were also befitting of aristocracy.
They also didn’t know much about the boy as he hadn’t attended any social events or functions. There were certain rumors that the boy would be introduced to high society at his age of debut.
They secretly watched as the third princess and the boy had their al and left after paying. Why was he together with the third princess?
Now that they thought about it, whenever they saw the third princess in The Vanilla Courtyard, the boy would also be with her. It seed they were quite close...
A new rumour spread among aristocracy— that the boy was probably a potential marriage candidate for the third princess.
Aristia and Owen headed back to the Grand Duke’s Mansion, unaware of the new rumor erging.
She had given Owen a day off today. He had only attended his classes and then headed to the restaurant in the afternoon to et Dahlia.
When he heard that Aristia had arrived, he went to et her.
The carriage slowed down, signaling its arrival at the Grand Duke’s Mansion.
Owen alighted the carriage, then extended a hand for Aristia to do so too. Before Aristia’s hand could make contact with his, a large hand ca forward and carried her down from the carriage.
Without even looking, Owen could tell who it was.
"Your Imperial Highness," he bowed in greeting.
Wilson only grunted, before placing his daughter softly on the ground.
"... thank you, Papa." Aristia nodded at him, refraining from shaking her head at his protectiveness.
Her eyes landed on the carriage in front of theirs. It seed that Wilson just arrived not long before them. They headed into the mansion together.
"What about mama and Al?" She asked Wilson.
"Your mother has not yet returned from the Duchess’s tea party," Wilson looked down at her small figure. "Alaric is taking a nap."
Aristia nodded. She was tired too, she needed to rest. Just as she thought that, Adeline arrived at the entrance of the mansion.
"You’re back, princess." She smiled.
Aristia smiled back.
She walked with Adeline and Owen into the mansion. Owen’s room was on the sa corridor as hers. Her room was in between Owen’s and Alaric’s.
He entered his room without another word, leaving Adeline and Aristia alone.
"I will prepare your bath." Adeline said, leaving the room to prepare Aristia’s bath.
"Okay." Aristia plopped face down on her bed, her words coming out muffled. "Feels so good to just lie in bed."
She turned to face the window, looking at the distance ahead and suddenly rembering the first ti she arrived in this world.
[A whole year has gone by since I arrived here. I still find it hard to believe.]
Even though she appeared to cope easily since her stay here, sotis, it still felt like a dream to her.
She wondered what was happening in her world.
What if she wasn’t really in another world and it was just a fignt of her imagination.
Or, perhaps she had fallen off the bed after she had read the novel, hit her head hard and fell into a coma, causing her to have this strange dream because the novel was the last thing her brain had absorbed?
There were a lot of what ifs, and all of them seed to make sense to her than her actually entering into a novel world and living as a character in the novel, alongside other characters.
She was brought out of her thoughts when the door opened and Adeline ca in with a group of maids carrying buckets of water.
She slowly stood up from her bed and sat down, waiting for the maids to leave.
"The bath is ready, princess." Adeline called cheerfully as she exited the bathroom, coming over to help her undress.
Aristia got down from the bed and headed into the bathroom, before taking off her clothes.
[Whatever this is.] She thought as she entered the bath, referring to why and how she was in this world. [I’m living in it, just like them.]
That was the harsh reality she had to accept, until she succeeded in waking up or the doctors successfully treated her and she woke up from her coma.
But, she had decided to accept this family and life as her own while she was here and she would stick to that decision.
