The doctor who called up was called Dr. Han. I was able to see his stats using my Mind Eye, but he was immune to my suggestion.

I tried to search his body for any cards, but I found none. It ant he had another way to resist my mind control abilities.

'I know it; it was a good thing that I followed this old man,'" I thought to myself, recognizing that he was far from an ordinary doctor.

Not long after, we finally reached his own laboratory.

In this place, important doctors got to have their own laboratory, and Dr. Han was one of those who had the biggest one and the most funding.

His laboratory was really big, maybe 10 tis bigger than my room, and there were a lot of apparatus in this place, but most of them are computers. He must be an expert in digital technology.

"So, where are these important docunts, Dr. Han?" I asked, still pretending.

Dr. Han turned around to , but instead of replying, a forced smile appeared on his face.

"Here it is," he pointed towards a computer, but this one has a brain inside an apparatus, similar to the one in Seoul.

I already saw it when I entered, but I assud it was just a normal thing here.

"You must be confused; this is a prototype I made. This thing is directly linked to the mainfra of this place." He explained.

"Is it safe to tell that, Dr. Han?" I asked. I felt like he was talking too much for a doctor who works for a top-secret organization.

Now that I think about it, why did he bother picking among all the others present?

"I know who you are; I know that you've been hacking into our network, and you're a really talented hacker. " he revealed the truth.

I paused for a mont and looked at him. This old man did not randomly pick at all.

"Don't worry, I'm not your enemy , and the video of you changing faces has been deleted already," he added.

Multiple scenarios ran through my mind as I tried to figure out what was happening here – this computer, his knowledge about . Then a conclusion ca up.

"You're the one who initiated the cyber attack?" I confronted him.

The Zol Clan were powerful, but I doubted they were smart enough to hack into the Cerebrum Network.

Even with my impressive hacking knowledge, I couldn't directly break through and launch a cyber attack. So, it was an inside job after all, and this old man was their accomplice.

"It's true," he sighed.

"Why? Why are you helping them?" I asked for clarification. He didn't seem to be under the effect of any mind control.

He paused for a mont, and the lines on his forehead beca visible.

"They kidnapped my family and held them hostage," he answered with a defeated voice.

"Then why are you telling this? I could be one of them."

"I heard your conversation, so I know that you're not one of them," he explained, showing that he had been spying on us all this ti.

"It still doesn't answer why you chose to talk to ?" I confronted him. If he heard our conversation, then he also knew that I ca here to save my mother.

"I don't trust them on giving back my family. They are bunch of coldblooded murderer, that's why I took this risk to ask you," he added.

'But am I also a cold-blooded killer? Or maybe compared to them, I look like a saint to him?' I sighed inwardly, realizing how bad the reputation of the Zol Clan was. They're basically treated as more evil than actual devils at this point.

"And why should I help you? What's in it for ?" I raised my eyebrows and scrutinized his words.

"I know that you will say that," he sighed. "Don't worry, I have sothing that I could exchange for if you promise the safety of my family," he added

Then he walked towards the brain computer and pull out a USB. "Inside this is a mory I was able to get from one of the founders."

"Founders?" Explore more at empire

"You see the brain that we used for the mainfra? Those are not just normal brains; they were brains that we were able to extract from the remains of extraterrestrial beings, and we had been trying our best to uncover fragnts of their mory," he explained.

'Was it the sa mory I got from before?' I thought to myself. I beca more interested now in what he was offering.

If it was already extracted data, then it would save a lot of ti. I no longer had to deal with those pesky little anti-virus programs and also my system punishnt to activate safe mode.

"Then this mory, does Cerebrum already have a copy of it?" I asked.

"Not this one, but they have copies of the other fragnts in other branches. I was just able to extract this one today. A mory needs a lot of processing power to be salvaged, so these are data that are very important. It contains so hints about the origin of humanity," he explained further.

"I see, but I still don't see any rit in helping you. This is just a mory; what is in it for ?" I shook my head. What's important to them might not be important to .

"A lot , " He replied with a firm voice.

"This thing could be used to exchange for other information, not just with Cerebrum. Many more organizations would want this mory because it could provide them with valuable data, technological inventions, and much more. Please take this, just promise that you will save my family," he pleaded.

Seeing that I was still not convinced to help him, he opened his mouth and said sothing that finally moved .

"You have the ability to control minds, right? I have a neutralizer implanted inside ," he pulled out a knife and cut his own wrist; it started bleeding, and a micro chip dropped to the ground.

"This chip's material is very rare, and it's the only material that could be implanted in the body without adverse effects." He added.

"Now you can finally put under your control," He looked at in the eye with determination.
