Zhang took a deep breath and closed his eyes to calm himself down.

Those downer pills seed to be doing the trick because he didn't let my grandfather's taunting bother him. The ds had definitely helped him stay cool and collected.

Not just that, in our first eting, I also noticed sothing different about Zhang.

He stayed cool even when was using his strong abilities, unlike other Gifteds. It reminded of Rei i and the other girls who was not corrupted by their powers.

It was different from . I didn't know if my power was corrupting my mind, or if I was just corrupted in the first place. Considering the history of my clan, I think it was the latter.

Seeing Zhang's calm response, my grandfather stopped laughing.

"You're no fun," he shook his head in disappointnt. I could tell he was just bored and trying to stir things up for so amusent.

In a way, I could relate to him. Every now and then, I found myself grappling with boredom, impulsively stirring the pot just to inject a bit of excitent in my life.

"So, young man, what did you co here for? Don't tell you want to avenge your grandfather?"

"Of course not, why would I avenge soone I never et? I ca here for a different reason," Zhang replied.

I silently applauded him for keeping his cool and being so professional. If it were , I would have lost it by now. My ego was thicker than blood after all.

"Oh, what is it?" my grandfather's asked with a curious gaze.

"You're more easygoing than I thought," Zhang began to engage him in small talk.

"My power has been restricted here, and I'm bored to death. It would have been better if they just froze like before, but they wanted to suffer. So, I'm just killing so ti," he replied.

"So what do you want to talk about ? Hurry up and say it"

Zhang paused for a mont, contemplating whether it was okay for him to asked.

"Do you know about the door?"

My grandfather's face turned serious imdiately after hearing his words. It must be an important topic for him to change his deanor this fast.

"Boy, you need to be specific. What kind of door are you talking about? I've entered a lot of doors before in my long life; I even entered the door of your grandfather's house… secretly of course, to et your grandmother ," my grandpa replied with a sarcastic comnt.

As expected, he would not answer him directly.

"I'm talking about that door when you reached certain level of power" He cut off my grandfather before could spout more nonsense again.

"Interesting, so you've already reached that level," Grandpa touched his chin in contemplation.

Now, I was sure that they were talking about the sa door that I saw before when I was trapped in that dark place. I haven't found any clues yet on how to open it, so I was interested in this topic.

"I could feel that I'm close to opening it," he answered.

"You can do it, but unlocking it while you're still this weak ans that you have already reached your full potential," my grandfather responded.

He did not hold back in his words, and I could not bla him. I, myself, found Zhang weak in comparison to , and I'm not close to opening that door. In fact, I don't even have a way to see it again.

Zhang didn't seem bothered by my grandfather's words. Being called weak by soone so legendary was like a billionaire teasing a millionaire for not having enough money—no hard feelings, just facts!

"What do you an?" Zhang inquired, seeking clarification.

"Well, it's not a big secret, and I'm pretty sure you've already got so answers. That door is your way to attaining your own evolution. aning that your power would evolve and be more focused on one point in exchange for more power."

"Can I choose what power to get?" he asked.

"It depends on how much insight you will get from the other side," grandpa replied.

Zhang paused for a mont; it seed that he had gotten the answer he needed. This ant that he would beco stronger in the future if left alone.

"Is that all you wanted to asked ?" grandpa asked.

"I still have so questions , this ti about the Zol Clan ,"

"Oh what about it?"

"Soone who called herself Zely appeared in Arica. Do you know her?"

"Zely?" grandpa's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to recall the na.

"I don't know about soone nad Zely, but I rember having an ancestor by the na of Zel."

"Are you really gonna hand out important information just like that?" Zhang was surprised by my grandfather's honesty.

"Boy , if who appeared in Arica is really Zel, then no amount of information can help you," He chuckled aloud.

"So who is this Zel ?" Zhang voice turned more serious .

"Zel is…"

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A loud explosion from above shook the entire underground base, it was so strong that it had managed to shake this place which was already far below the ground.

"Did soone nuke us or sothing?" I shouted aloud.

What happened next was the sound of alarms echoing.

"Not good, I just received a ssage that we are being attacked!" The prison director spoke up. He was part of the security team, so he had access to this information.

"Everyone, get out," the director sent a ssage to Zhang, who was inside the glass do.

Zhang read the ssage from his watch, and he quickly exited it, leaving my grandfather alone inside.

I saw my grandfather looking at where Zhang exited, although from the inside, he couldn't see anything.

That was supposed to be the case, but his gaze suddenly shifted to , and a smile ford on his face.

He spoke up without any words, just his lips moving, but I could understand him.

"Don't enter this do. Save your mother first."

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

Another loud explosion echoed above, and we quickly ran out of the place. He told not to go into the glass do, so I decided to believe him for now.
