Two figures streaked in the air with inhuman speed. The leading one was a massive dragon with crimson scales, while the chasing one was a beautiful woman clad in golden armor.
Rodriguz flew as fast as he could while turning around to attack Chloe from ti to ti.
He breathed fire and casted fireballs to slow her down.
He knew that his fire had no effect on the beautiful woman, but wounding her wasn’t what he aid for. He wanted to distract her with montary attacks to get out of the situation he found himself in.
’I have to get out of here. Who would have thought that a being as powerful as this was guarding the northern kingdom? I can’t kill her, but if I could return to my father, he could kill her.’
Rodriguz turned around mid-air and attacked the beautiful woman one last ti. Then he used the few seconds of respite to dash toward the massive mountain chain.
He flew as fast as he could, and he was about to get away, but he didn’t. After all, he was facing a being created by two Gods.
Rodriguz stopped mid-air after seeing Chloe floating in front of him. Fear gripped his heart as a shiver ran down his spine. He gulped and turned around to see another Chloe flying toward him with a jian made out of fire in her hand.
’Huh? Wha? Th-There are two of her, but how?’
He snapped his neck to see the other Chloe also lunging at him with an axe made out of fire.
’Shit, I have to do sothing.’
He threw another glance at the two Chloes and flew upward. He used his massive wings to put as much distance between himself and the two beautiful won.
That’s when he saw another Chloe, floating hundred ters away from him. She was aiming a massive fireball at him while chanting sothing.
Before he could even register what he saw, the fireball flew toward him with terrifying speed and hit his abdon with a sickening crunch of breaking bones.
"Aaaaahhh"
Rodriguz lost control of his flight and plumted down toward Earth, spinning wildly. He tore through a massive tree and scraped over the forest floor until he hit a shallow lake.
Rodriguez shook violently and slowly blacked out.
He was flowing through the pure darkness until he was woken up by the sound of nearby steps.
He weakly opened his eyes to see a beautiful young woman walking toward him with steady steps.
"Aren’t you a dragon? Why are you so weak?"
Rodriguez slowly raised his head while being half-subrged in the water.
He couldn’t feel anything beyond his abdon.
It seems like the attack from earlier has blasted off his lower half, and his blood has painted the lake crimson.
’Am I gonna die here?’
He thought while looking at the still Chloe. She eyed him for a mont before asking again.
"You look pathetic. A dragon running from any opponent isn’t a real dragon."
Rodriguz gritted his fangs and spat.
"What do you know about dragons won?"
Chloe stayed silent for a mont before speaking.
"I know everything about dragons, since I am one."
Rodriguz’s eyes widened from the shocking piece of information. He shrugged off the pain and thought for a mont before speaking.
’That explains a lot. She is too strong to be a normal human, and her affinity toward fire is even greater than mine.’
"Then why are you trying to kill ? Shouldn’t we all help each other since we are the last dragons alive from the dragon hunts?"
Chloe lingered for a mont and nodded.
"Even though you are a sorry excuse for a dragon, I don’t want to kill you. I am not cruel enough to kill my kind, but...I have orders from my master to bring your head."
Rodriguz looked at her for a mont before asking her caustiously.
"What’s so great about your master for you to abandon your own kind?"
A happy expression appeared on Chloe’s face as she spoke with undeniable respect and loyalty.
"My master is the strongest, most handso and most rciful person in this entire world. He carries out the will of the god who gave life. He is also the lover of my creator. If I have to introduce him in one word, he is the greatest human to ever exist and the man I am in love with."
Rodriguz frowned and looked toward the dark forest behind Chloe.
"Is that so? Then there is no way I can convince you to disobey your master, right?"
Chloe shook his head and said.
"I will never betray my master. I will always be his blade."
"Good to know that."
Suddenly, Rodriguz outstretched his hand toward Chloe, and a dozen spheres of fire manifested in front of him.
"Die"
The spheres of fire flew toward the standing figure of Chloe with great speed.
Chloe looked at the spheres of fire with disinterest and slapped all of them swiftly.
The spheres flew in a different directions and exploded upon hitting the ground. The balls of fire created small, wide-area explosions that sent small tremors through the northern forest.
Chloe looked at Rodriguz with a disappointing look but a frown appeared on her face as she found him smiling.
Then a white dart coated in black liquid streaked through the air and hit her in the shoulder.
"Aaahhh"
She clutched her shoulder in pain and knelt on the floor.
’What is i-’
Before she could register anything, she lost control of her body and fell on the floor.
She has lost all her senses and she couldn’t feel anything in her body. She lay on the cold floor like a broken door, with her eyes fixated on a dark bush.
Suddenly, the bush swayed, and a young man dressed in pure white stepped out from it.
"Man, that was a lot of fireworks. I thought you would only stop after burning the entire Forest."
The man was in his mid-twenties and had a dium build. He wore formal attire, which nobles occasionally wear. He had pure white hair accompanied by blood-red eyes. A pleasant smile was painted on his shaved face.
He slowly walked toward her and stopped right in front of her until all she could see was the white boots adorned with golden styles.
"You were very powerful, if it wasn’t for the dart coated in giant blood, I wouldn’t have been able to kill you like I’m about to do now. It’s a sha that you chose the wrong side."
Then the Rodriguz’s voice was heard from behind with anger.
"Stop stalling things and kill the bitch."
"Ohh, you look worse than I thought Rodriguz, but don’t worry, I will protect you."
The Rodriguz’s voice was heard again, this ti with even more anger.
"KILL HER."
The man turned his foot slightly and said.
"Okay, Okay, Jeez. You are no fun."
The white-haired man lifted Chloe using her hair and looked her dead in the eyes. When their eyes t each other, the guy smiled pleasantly again.
"Who would have thought a woman as pretty as you would be so terrifying."
He then pulled a short knife from his back and closed it on her unmoving pupil, little by little-She couldn’t even move her eyes because of the poison.
The silver blade was so close to piercing her eyes when suddenly he stopped. He turned his head sideways and smiled.
"This complicates things...it seems like I have to excuse myself for today."
Then he looked at her with his sa gentle smile and let go of her hair. Chloe fell to the ground with a thud and lay there unmoving.
She could see from the corner of her eye the guy walking toward the place where Rodriguz is. When he moved away from her vision, Rodriguz spat with anger.
"What are you doing? Kill her right now."
The guy smiled with his sa creepy smile and said.
" I am sorry Rodriguz, but tonight it is you who are going to die."
’Wh-"
Then the sickening sound of a knife slashing through flesh reached her ears. This stabbing sound went on for a few monts before stopping. Then, after a couple of minutes, the man’s voice reached her again.
"It seems like we have to part ways today, Miss Dragon. But don’t worry, we will et again very soon. And next ti things will be very different."
Then everything beca silent.
This silence lasted until a golden radiance overtook Chloe’s vision.
the burning fire was extinguished, and small plants started to grow from the ground.
Chloe’s body twitched as the weakness started to slowly disappear from her body. She weakly raises her head to look at a golden sphere of light descending toward her from the sky.
Chloe looked at the descending sphere of gold for a mont in awe.
A single word ca from her mouth as she stared.
"Mother."
