Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Carla regained consciousness a few hours after being revived.
Ashley, who had been staying with her checked on her thoroughly and confird that there was nothing wrong with her.
Carla's cultivation level remained at mid-level Rank Two—just as it had been before her death—and all of her mories from before her demise were intact.
To confirm the negative effects of the Balance Weaver skill, Carla stayed with Ashley during these two days, allowing Ashley to carefully observe her and determine the extent of any issues.
Surprisingly, the initial results turned out to be better than Evan had anticipated.
When Carla first woke up, she was utterly confused. The last mory she had was of being killed by Zorda in the Tomb of the Ancient, so she couldn't comprehend how she had returned to the closed world of the Dryads.
At first, she believed she was dreaming and overwheld by emotion, began to cry when she saw Ashley.
But after Ashley explained everything to her, Carla was so shocked that her mouth hung open for several minutes in disbelief.
Upon learning that she had been revived, she expressed an imdiate desire to et the others. However, Ashley stopped her, insisting that they first determine the full extent of the Balance Weaver skill's negative effects before reuniting her with everyone.
On the first day of Carla's revival, Ashley kept her at her ho and stayed by her side the entire ti. She remained highly vigilant, expecting Carla to face so form of life-threatening crisis as Evan had described.
However, to Ashley's surprise, a full day passed without Carla encountering any danger.
When Ashley inford Evan and the others of this, they all ca to a mutual conclusion: the negative effects of the Balance Weaver skill were not absolute. If conditions did not allow for a life-threatening crisis, the effects could seemingly be ignored.
For instance, in the closed world of the Dryads—where nurous high-level Core Evolvers resided and where soone as strong as Ashley was actively protecting her—it was virtually impossible for Carla to face a true life-threatening crisis. As a result, nothing happened to her.
Had Carla been a normal person rather than a Rank Two Core Evolver, she might have experienced sothing like a heart attack, organ failure, or another sudden health issue that could prove fatal.
However, for a Rank Two Core Evolver, such occurrences were impossible, so Carla remained completely unhard.
To further test their hypothesis, Ashley decided to take Carla outside the closed world of the Dryads and let her wander in the inner area of the Dark Forest.
Not long after Ashley left Carla to roam freely, Carla encountered a group of Rank Three monsters.
Ashley, who had been keeping a close watch on Carla's movents with her spiritual senses was stunned.
She had been carefully monitoring an area spanning thousands of kilotres around Carla, and the Rank Three monsters had originally been far away from Carla's location.
However, they suddenly left the area they were in and moved towards the area where Carla was located.
The reason soon beca clear. In the area where Carla had been wandering, a low-level Rank Three plant had fully matured, releasing a powerful aura and scent that attracted the monsters.
Ashley was dumbfounded when she saw this happen. At the sa ti, she recalled Evan ntioning that each ti he overca a life-threatening crisis, he would receive great rewards and experience significant growth in strength.
Upon inspecting the herb in question, Ashley discovered that it could be used by individuals below Rank Three to greatly boost their advancent speed.
If Carla consud the herb, she would be able to reach the peak of Rank Two in a very short amount of ti. Of course, this was only possible if she managed to survive the threat posed by the Rank Three monsters.
After securing the herb and taking care of the group of monsters, Ashley allowed Carla to continue wandering within the inner layer of the Dark Forest.
Interestingly, after the incident with the monsters, Carla did not encounter any other danger that day until Ashley brought her back.
When Ashley reported the incident to Evan and the others, they speculated that the sudden maturation of the herb, as well as the arrival of the monsters might have been caused by the negative effects of the Balance Weaver skill.
Of course, they also considered the possibility that it had been a coincidence. To confirm their suspicions, Ashley decided to take Carla out of the closed world of the Dryads again for several days of observation.
Sylvan and the others agreed with her plan and saw no reason to stop her.
After Ashley left to continue her tests, Evan's expression turned peculiar.
Listening to Ashley's report reminded him of the cultivation novels he had read. In those stories, protagonists often found themselves in dangerous situations similar to Carla's. Each ti they overca such crises, their strength would grow exponentially.
'If what happened in the Dark Forest was really due to the Balance Weaver skill, doesn't that an I have just created the son—oh, I an the daughter of destiny? Soone destined to rise to the pinnacle of power?' Evan thought to himself.
But he quickly shook his head, dismissed the idea and focused on his own plans.
"While Ashley is busy figuring out the negative effects on Carla, I should wrap up the plan I prepared in the Azragoth World," Evan said aloud, sitting in the training room of his ho.
The training room was completely empty except for Anastasia, who stood so distance away, watching Evan with a serious expression.
Seeing that Anastasia was ready to act at any mont, Evan wasted no ti. Taking a deep breath, he prepared himself.
In the next mont, intricate and unfamiliar engravings appeared all over his body as he activated the second Primordial Rune he had obtained after breaking the soul seal in the Azragoth World.
