The person revived using the Balance Weaver skill will be subjected to life-threatening events on a daily basis. If they fail to successfully overco these crises, they will die, and Evan will be unable to revive them again, even by using the Balance Weaver skill.

The reason behind these life-threatening crises is the curse of his Doom Bringer Bloodline.

Since a long ti ago, Evan knew that it reduced his luck. When he first awakened his Bloodline, it reduced his luck by 20%.

However, since then, his Bloodline has gone through many transformations, and currently, it reduces his luck by 8%.

Although the reduction is smaller now, the problems it causes for him are far from trivial, as he still faces life-threatening challenges on many occasions.

When he thought deeply about the people he had co into contact with since being transmigrated to the Arora World from Earth, he found a disturbing common pattern.

Because he hadn't grown close to many people since his transmigration, it was relatively easy for him to notice this link: all the people close to him or who had prolonged contact with him would encounter life-threatening situations.

For example, after his transmigration, the first person he had prolonged contact with was Valery.

She had asked him to accompany her to the Frost World Dungeon, and right after they left the dungeon, they were attacked by Carlos, a mber of the Dark Guild who ca to capture Valery.

If it weren't for the single drop of shadow energy Evan had at that ti, they would most likely have been killed by Carlos.

Valery wasn't the only example. When Evan left Astarte City (the city in the Arora World where he used to live) for the first ti, he accepted a mission and ventured out with a group of hunters.

While travelling to the mission's location, they encountered two Black Ogres, extrely rare monsters, and his teammates struggled greatly to defeat them.

After completing their mission and while returning to the city, they were ambushed by bandits. If it weren't for Evan's Shadow Walk skill, which allowed him to bypass the barrier that trapped them, the consequences could have been disastrous.

A few months after the bandit ambush, Evan ca into contact with the Terror Brothers.

However, unlike his previous experiences—where people he ca into contact with were sohow able to escape due to his help, the Terror Brothers were quite unlucky and were killed by Oliva.

Their deaths marked a turning point for Evan as it was the accident that made him aware about the effect of his title that it affects his emotions greatly.

At the sa ti, after this incident, he began to feel an instinctual need to distance himself from others.

As a result, he deliberately avoided prolonged contact with people from that point onward.

Thinking back on these events, Evan realized that all the people he had prolonged contact with faced life-threatening crises occasionally.

Valery's current situation was another clear example of this pattern.

She had been living a stable life after he left the Arora World. Even on Earth, while she struggled with the issue of her damaged core, her life was never in imminent danger.

However, the mont she reconnected with him, Winterclaw discovered her location. One thing led to another, and now she was encased in an ice cocoon, teetering on the brink of death.

All these events were strikingly similar to the negative effects described in his Balance Weaver skill.

The only difference was that instead of being subjected to daily life-threatening crises like those revived by the skill, the people around him encountered these crises occasionally or as long as they remained in contact with him.

Even Cedar, who wasn't cursed by his title, had faced a dangerous situation the first ti he accompanied him to Star City.

In the Star City, Cedar lost control of himself, stole the Enlightennt Stone, and nearly got caught by the powerful figures of Star City.

Reflecting on all of these incidents, Evan ca to the conclusion that the curse placed on people around him by his title, The Cursed One, was similar to the curse of his Doom Bringer Bloodline.

This curse subjected them to life-threatening crises on occasion. Initially, this conclusion was nothing more than a guess, but a mory from long ago further solidified his belief.

In that mory, Evan had t a little girl who often ca to visit him while he stayed on a hill. (Chap—302)

She repeatedly tried to approach him, but he ignored her most of the ti. On one occasion, she brought him a steam bun to eat and left it with him.

He initially accepted the bun, but as if he suddenly rembered sothing, he imdiately threw it away without taking a single bite.

The mory beca blurry after that, but the next clear scene showed the little girl's village—completely destroyed—and her cold, lifeless body.

Reflecting on this mory in light of his current hypothesis, Evan realized that his avoidance of the little girl and his refusal to accept the food she brought him was likely due to awareness of the curse his title placed on those around him.

The more she interacted with him, the higher her chances of being affected by the curse. Tragically, even his attempts to avoid her weren't enough to save her, and she still died in the end.

Based on these observations, Evan concluded that his title imposed a curse on those around him—a curse similar to the negative effects of the Balance Weaver skill.

Once these individuals died due to the influence of the curse, Evan's emotions toward them turned completely indifferent, as though they were strangers. At the sa ti, the title also influenced his emotions toward the person responsible for their deaths.

These were the effects of his title that Evan currently knew of. There might still be other, undiscovered effects, but he was certain that these two were definite.

As for why his title altered his emotions toward those close to him when they died, he already had a theory about it.
