An intense fight broke out early in the morning on the first checkpoint of the military base.

The survivors quickly did as their told and this includes the elderly couple.
Because there was a bonfire in the middle of the camp, they reached out for the burned firewood and waved it towards the large rats.
The large rats were visibly intimidated by the fire and they let go of the survivors.
The other survivors who weren't harm helped those injured and treat their wounds with the wine.

These people already known each other and had developed a strong bond under Chu Muwen's tyranny.
Thus, they couldn't turn a blind eye unlike those heartless people Gu Ling and Boss Kang.
In the morning, besides from helping them contact the authorities of the bomb shelter, Nanzhi and Lin Weihao said sothing to them.

A wave of disbelief painted their faces.
"What! This is unfair! We're survivors too!"

The ones who beca their victims last night scoffed and pointed their fingers on their faces.
"Done nothing wrong?! Because of you, I nearly died last night!"

Gu Ling glared and quickly refuted the person's words. "They're lying!"
"Shut up!" The soldiers didn't have ti to watch the drama unfold and only said to Gu Ling and the others.
"Anyone with criminal records of murder and any cris punishable by the death penalty in the past or branded by criminal tattoo can't enter the governnt bases."
"If you enter the governnt base, you will have to be detained inside the prison!"
If it was the earlier days, he will detain them right away but now the number of security in the base is very low and they can't keep an eye on all the prisoners.
