Nanzhi carefully climbed down the third floor and as she beca closer to the water, she heard the hissing noises.

The surface of the flood water rippled and sothing lunged at her.

Nanzhi's eyes narrowed and a bolo machete appeared on her hand.

With one swing, the green snake's head was cut off. Blood splashed on the water and on her clothes.

But after three seconds, another rattle snake erged and slithered on the steps. Because of the wounds it obtained, it seed agitated and when it perceived a person nearby, its survival instinct was to defend itself.

Baring it fangs and flicking its tongue, it attacked Nanzhi.

Nanzhi dodged before swinging the bolo machete again. Compared to the snake before, this one had fast reflexes. Nanzhi failed at the first attempt and only managed to apprehend it at third try.

The carcass of the snake fell on the steps.

Hiss—

Hiss—

Three more crawled towards her.

Nanzhi retreated to a safe spot before finishing them off.

The fight continued for another ten minutes and the carcasses of the snakes were scattered on the stairs.

Nanzhi didn't waste the body and collected them in her inventory.

It might have uses in the future.

She took out a water bottle filled of orange juice from her back pack and drank it to replenish her energy.

Dealing with these snakes was easy compared to the alien beasts. The only thing she needed to watch out was the venom.

Her mind wandered to Professor Zhang Heng. The flow of the water was going to the dormitory's direction. He might encounter it by now.

The security guard had just finished pumping air into the boat and climbed down the stairs to inform Nanzhi when he saw the snakes' heads and the blood all over the steps.

The scene was straight out of a horror movie.

His face was pale and his legs beca weak. "Snakes…snakes…how co there's so many?"

Nanzhi ignored his reaction and asked, "Done?"

The security guard nodded slowly, still shocked by the spectacle. He counted the number of heads and there were more than 20 of them. Did she finish them all by herself?

The bolo machete in the woman's hand had fresh blood on its blade, giving him the answer.

But how can she remain so calm?

Just sight of them made his skin crawl. If it was him, it's impossible to do such a thing. His impression of Nanzhi raised another level.

Just then, the woman went to get sothing from her backpack and threw it on him. He caught it.

It was a water proof duct tape and t-shirts.

He was confused until he saw her ripping out another white shirt into several strips before rolling them on her arms and legs and securing them with a duct tape.

Nanzhi glanced at the uncle and only saw him dazedly looking at her.

She lowered her eyes before saying, "If you were any slower, I'll take the boat and leave you here."

The security guard stiffened and his eyes unconsciously landed on the snakes or what's left of them.

He doesn't want to stay here at all. For so reason, he felt safer with her around. If only he didn't leave his gun on his desk.

He mimicked what Nanzhi did and the mont he was done, Nanzhi assembled the two paddles and handed them to him.

The security guard looked at Nanzhi in bewildernt.

Nanzhi looked him into his eyes and said, "The plan is simple. You row and I'll deal with them."

Actually, she wanted to make to make a snake repellant too but with the heavy rain, it will be useless.

Three minutes later, one could see a small inflatable boat amidst the flood water. Compared to the before, the water flow was calr, rowing was no problem as long they were careful with the debris.

The security guard got the easier end of the stick. He watched the person in front of him efficiently and skillfully eliminated the snakes on the way trying to jump onto their boat.

Nanzhi's only regret that she couldn't collect the loots as there was a witness nearby.

"Pardon, are you a hunter or sothing?" Gulping, the security guard asked.

The short distraction almost cost him his life.

Nanzhi chopped the yellow python's neck in the nick of ti.

The security guard saw the snake head that had fallen onto his feet and was shocked before standing, screaming and kicking the head off the boat.

The boat was swaying for a second. Nanzhi almost lost balance.

"Pay attention." Nanzhi said coldly. If she didn't need soone to row, she might kick him off.

The security guard trembled under her cold stare and apologizes for the mistake.

Fortunately, the security guard was no longer as clumsy as before. The trip beca smoother and Nanzhi was able to observe a pattern.

The snakes were mostly camping around where the debris is gathered. She told the guard to avoid them as much as possible and thus the number of snakes that popped lessened.

After spending a third quarter of an hour on the water, they finally saw the dormitory building and the situation doesn't appear good.

She could see a lot of snakes coiling around the baluster.

The security guard saw them too and his scalp went numb.

Arriving, Nanzhi didn't tell the Uncle Guard to dock but sat on the boat and told him to get near those floating plastic containers.

Nanzhi fished them out of the water and when she had enough, she took out sothing from her back pack.

Under the security guard's astonished eyes, the woman started pulling out the dead bodies of the snakes from her bag.

The security guard was about to repeat what happened before but he heard Nanzhi say, "If this boat sways again, I'll throw you on the water."

The threat works and the Uncle guard did his best to close his eyes and imagined that the one in the woman's hands was not a snake but a chicken.

It's a chicken….It's a chicken…It's a chicken….
