4 a.m.
The survivors took advantage of the sun not coming out yet and had been outside since 8 p.m. The absence of spars in the alien beasts' heads made the survivors quite sad. However, this phenonon was not strange since they had also witnessed alien beasts digging out the spars of their fellow beasts before.
So alien beasts wandered around the area too, but their numbers were sparse compared to the tide and were quickly killed and divided by hundreds of people.
As they were collecting alien beast corpses, the sound of an engine entered their ears.
They saw a twelve-wheeler truck driving toward the community center.
Before going on the trip, Nanzhi and Weihao had cleaned a path along the collapsed debris of the third and fourth walls.
The truck drove along the path and ca to a stop outside the second wall. The back door opened, and two black-clothed figures walked out.
The survivors slowly and cautiously walked toward the back of the truck. Lamps lit up inside the truck, revealing shelves full of supplies.
One of the cloaked figures hung up a poster that read:
Jade rchants — Accepting spars, jades, and alien beast parts.
Jade rchants!
A mont later, survivors ca running inside, shouting, "Jade rchants! The Jade rchants are here!"
This news caused an uproar inside the base.
People quickly rushed out of their rooms.
"What? The Jade rchants? Or are you just pulling our legs?"
"They're really here! If you don't co fast, you won't be able to buy anything! There are thousands of people here, and the Jade rchants only have one truck full of goods. Those who co late will leave empty-handed!"
The survivors looked down and saw many people already on the ground, rushing toward the second wall. Grabbing their bags, they also rushed out, joining the craze.
Those who didn't have spars or jades could only lant their luck. But they didn't give up and decided to search for jades outside when they saw people carrying alien beast parts.
"What are you doing with those?"
"To trade with the Jade rchants."
The person who answered was actually Wang Bo.
Behind him were the Iron Gale Squad, the Zhao siblings, and Luo Gang. They were among those on the field when the truck arrived.
Zhao Mo wasn't aware of what these so-called Jade rchants were, but after a quick briefing from his sister, he also helped transport the alien beasts they had dismantled last night.
"What? They also accept alien beast parts?"
The survivors were shocked and quickly dispersed.
When Wang Bo and his friends arrived, the line was already long.
With so many people rushing over, the place was chaotic. People only beca orderly when the Jade rchants announced the rules: anyone caught stealing or causing trouble would be blacklisted and would never be allowed to buy from them again.
Compared to before, the variety of goods was much richer.
The survivors gulped as they looked at the list of items.
There were vegetables and fruits this ti. They were not just dried — there were even fresh ones!
There were also more types of dicines, daily necessities, and fabric materials.
And EGGS.
"Is that an egg? Are you really selling eggs?" the survivors at the front asked the two masked figures.
Behind the mask, Nanzhi nodded. Little Snowball had found more chickens while exploring, and now her inventory was full of unfertilized eggs. She hadn't even finished her stock of store-bought eggs yet, so it was better to clear so of them out.
However, to make sure everyone had a share, Nanzhi limited each survivor to buying only three eggs. Even so, the survivors were still very happy.
The first survivor in line looked nervous as he stared at the prices. It was obvious this was his first ti buying from the Jade rchants. After the price hike at Longn Base, he had no spars left.
"Uh… excuse , I only have jades."
He opened the zipper of his worn-out brown leather shoulder bag and placed all the jades on the counter.
As one of the masked rchants picked up a green jade and began examining it, the man couldn't help feeling even more nervous.
"Ah… you can take all the jades. I just want at least a bottle of water and—"
"Nice quality. This jade alone is worth five points," Nanzhi said, adjusting her voice so she wouldn't be recognized.
The first survivor swallowed the rest of what he was about to say.
That worthless jade was worth five points?!
Nanzhi examined the rest of the jades and awarded points based on the system's appraisal.
"For all the jades, I can give you thirty-six points. Do you want to trade?"
Thirty-six points for all that junk? The first survivor could barely contain his joy.
"Yes! I'll trade! I'll trade!"
Only a fool would refuse!
Nanzhi took all the jades and asked, "What would you like to exchange?"
The first survivor gulped, still in disbelief.
"I would like three liters of water, a pack of corn, two packs of sweet potatoes, two bags of rice, a bag of flour, and three eggs!"
When the first custor received his order, both he and the survivors behind him gawked at how big the corn and potatoes were.
The first survivor could barely hold a single corn in his hand, and each sweet potato was bigger than his fist. Good thing they were packaged together.
But then he noticed sothing strange.
"Uh… I think you made a mistake. You gave double the order…"
Nanzhi looked at the exhausted state of the survivors before answering.
"You're in luck. We have an event today. Except for the eggs, we'll double the rest of your order."
This was the first compensation she could think of.
"Double the order?!"
The survivors erupted into an uproar.
With the way the Jade rchants were doing business, they were practically giving away supplies. Yet now they even added a double-order event!
They didn't know who these two people were, but their gratitude was imasurable.
"Thank you! Thank you!"
The news of the double-order event spread like wildfire.
