Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies Chapter 547: You Won’t Regret It?
Hearing her grandfather's voice again after so many years, Yao Ran's eyes welled up with tears. She walked to his bedside, held his hand, and whispered, "Grandfather, I'm here. I really miss you."
Holding the hands of both his grandchildren, Yao Zi'ao looked deeply moved. He smiled at them and said, "Grandfather is truly happy to see that both of you are safe. You must have suffered a lot these past years."
Yao Yuechuan blinked rapidly, trying to suppress his emotions, before grinning and replying, "Grandfather, don't you know ? Who else besides you could ever make suffer?"
Hearing his grandson's hoarse yet teasing voice, Yao Zi'ao chuckled—only to suddenly choke and erupt into violent coughing.
"Cough! Cough!"
"Grandfather!" Yao Yuechuan was startled and hurriedly patted Yao Zi'ao's back.
Seeing this, Yao Ran quickly poured a glass of water from the bedside. She then put the glass on Yao Zi'ao's lips and said, "Here, Grandfather. Have so water."
After taking a few sips, Yao Zi'ao shook his head. As Yao Ran placed the glass back on the bedside table, he turned his gaze to Long Yu and asked, "Are you Ran Ran's fiancé?"
Long Yu took a step forward and answered respectfully, "Nice to et you, Grandfather. My na is Long Yu."
For a brief mont, Yao Zi'ao's eyes flickered upon hearing his na. After a pause, he murmured, "A mber of the Long family from Shoudu City."
When he heard Yao Zi'ao's words, Long Yu shook his head and corrected him, "I am not a mber of the Long family. They killed my mother and forced my father to his death. They are my enemies."
After listening to what he said, Yao Zi'ao observed Long Yu for a while before asking, "Will you take revenge against the Long family?"
Long Yu glanced at Yao Ran for a second before calmly replying, "Before his death, my father told to protect rather than kill. I won't avenge my parents' deaths, but I won't forgive the Long family either."
Hearing this, Yao Zi'ao smiled. He then turned to Yao Ran and said, "You have good judgnt when it cos to people. With him by your side, Grandpa is relieved."
Yao Ran nodded and responded, "Thank you, Grandfather."
Seeing that their grandfather had already accepted Long Yu as Yao Ran's fiancé, Yao Yuechuan snorted and said, "Grandfather, don't worry. I will keep an eye on him. If he dares to bully my younger sister, I will kill him."
Yao Zi'ao chuckled at his words and rubbed Yao Yuechuan's head. "That's right. You need to protect your younger sister."
After saying that, Yao Zi'ao let out a tired sigh.
Seeing this, Yao Yuechuan said, "Grandfather, you just woke up. You should rest more. We will visit you again later."
Feeling exhausted, Yao Zi'ao nodded and closed his eyes. Once he fell asleep, the three of them left the hospital ward.
Yao Yuechuan gently closed the door and instructed the bodyguards, "Make sure nobody disturbs my grandfather. If anything happens to him, I will hold you accountable."
The bodyguards saluted and responded in unison, "Yes, Captain Yao."
After giving the command, Yao Yuechuan, Yao Ran, and Long Yu left the hospital.
Not far from the entrance, Wu Lian watched the three of them leave. Just as he was lost in thought, his watch vibrated.
Seeing an incoming call, he answered it and said, "I heard you already got what you wanted."
A mont later, a man's voice ca through. "Yes."
"Why are you calling now? Do you need sothing?" Wu Lian asked gently.
After a brief silence, the man replied, "I do need your help."
Hearing this, Wu Lian raised an eyebrow and asked with a hint of curiosity in his voice, "What is it?"
After listening to the man's request, Wu Lian's eyes flickered. He frowned slightly and asked, "Are you sure you want to do this? You won't regret it?"
Wu Lian waited a long ti before the man finally answered, "I have no choice."
Hearing this, Wu Lian was silent for a mont before saying, "Fine. I will help you. Just wait for my good news."
A second later, the man responded with a hint of sadness in his voice, "Thank you, Cousin."
Ending the call, Wu Lian looked in the direction where Yao Ran and the others had gone. Then, looking up at the gloomy sky, he sighed before leaving the hospital.
A few days later, Yao Ran was abruptly awakened when the ground suddenly shook.
Before she could react, Long Yu had already scooped her into his arms and opened the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Controlling his wind elent ability, he surrounded them with a wind barrier and flew out of the villa.
Carried in Long Yu's arms, Yao Ran looked down and saw the ground cracking apart. As buildings crumbled and the earth caved in from the violent earthquake, her heart sank.
Gripping Long Yu's clothes tightly, she said, "A Yu, go to the hospital. Hurry!"
Knowing she was worried about Yao Zi'ao, Long Yu wasted no ti and flew toward the hospital at top speed.
By the ti they arrived, the situation was already chaotic. The sudden ga earthquake had collapsed half of the hospital buildings in less than one minute.
Seeing nurses, doctors, staff, and soldiers urgently evacuating patients, Long Yu flew directly toward the VVIP division.
Hovering in front of one of the windows, he said, "It's too dangerous to take the stairs. Ran Ran, let's get inside through the windows."
Yao Ran nodded and quickly opened the window. Once inside, they rushed to Yao Zi'ao's hospital ward while avoiding the ruins and the people. Arriving in the VVIP division, they saw the bodyguards struggling to move debris blocking the door.
Yao Ran's heart sank as she commanded, "Move aside!"
The mont they saw her, the bodyguards quickly stepped back. Waving her hand, Yao Ran stored the debris in her space. With the path cleared, she hurriedly opened the door—only to find the room empty.
