When they heard what Yao Ran said, the survivors reluctantly followed her instructions and returned to the shelter, with Yao Ran and Long Yu following close behind.

Although the end of the eternal night had brought hope to the survivors, the arrival of haze and thick volcanic ash cast a shadow over their optimism.

Returning to the air raid shelter, Yao Ran went to find Jia Xiang. Spotting her in the dining area, Yao Ran greeted her, "Sister Jia, good morning."

Jia Xiang raised her eyes and saw Yao Ran approaching. "Have you eaten?" she asked.

Yao Ran sat down across from her and replied, "Not yet."

Sensing that Yao Ran had sothing important to discuss, Jia Xiang asked, "Do you need my help with sothing?"

Yao Ran nodded. "Yes. Sister Jia, the eternal night has finally ended, but the air is now polluted with volcanic ash and haze. I think we need to prepare masks for the residents."

Hearing this, Jia Xiang put down her chopsticks and said, "No problem. I will handle the production and distribution."

"Alright. Then I will put the materials into the warehouse later."

After settling that matter, Jia Xiang asked, "When are you leaving for Luocheng City?"

"Probably tomorrow," Yao Ran replied. "I need to make the final preparations before leaving. I'm also concerned that the haze and volcanic ash might cause illnesses."

"I see." Jia Xiang paused for a mont before asking, "How long do you plan to stay in Luocheng City?"

Yao Ran shook her head. "I'm not sure. Maybe a few days, maybe a few months."

Hearing this, Jia Xiang held Yao Ran's hand and said, "Be careful out there."

"I will."

Not wanting to dwell on the sadness of parting, Jia Xiang smiled and said, "Today's soy milk tastes really good. You should give it a try."

Yao Ran smiled back. "I still need to deliver so dicinal herbs to the infirmary, so I will eat later."

Jia Xiang nodded. "Alright."

After Yao Ran left the dining area, Jia Xiang quickly finished her breakfast and began organizing the production and distribution of masks for the residents.

That afternoon, The Origin released an announcent after being silent since the last ergency warning.

Hearing the notification, Yao Ran paused her work and opened the news.

[Attention to all personnel: The communication line has been restored. Those currently on missions are to report back to headquarters for further instructions. Those on classified missions must send in their reports as soon as possible.]

After reading the announcent, Yao Ran resud her tasks. anwhile, in Luocheng City, Wu Yehao and his team also received the announcent.

"Captain, should I contact headquarters?" one of his subordinates asked.

"Yes." Wu Yehao nodded and called Yao Yuechuan. After a few rings, the call connected, and Yao Yuechuan's panicked voice ca through.

"Yehao! Where are you?"

Hearing the gunfire, sounds of fighting, and the roars of deford monsters in the background, Wu Yehao quickly replied, "I'm at the checkpoint near the outskirts of Luocheng City."

"How close are you?" Yao Yuechuan asked while throwing a fireball at a group of deford monsters.

Before Wu Yehao could respond, the sound of an explosion ca through the line. Boom!

A few seconds later, Yao Yuechuan shouted, "I will send you my location! Hurry and co help !"

The call disconnected abruptly, but a mont later, Wu Yehao received Yao Yuechuan's coordinates.

Marking the location, Wu Yehao turned to his team. "We are going to support Captain Yao. Let go."

With his order, his subordinates quickly loaded their supplies, climbed into their armored vehicles, and, after receiving permission to proceed from the headquarters, left the checkpoint, heading toward Luocheng City.

While Wu Yehao and his team sped toward the city, Yao Yuechuan and his team were struggling against an onslaught of deford monsters.

Watching more monsters approach from the south, one of his subordinates reminded, "Captain, more are coming from the south!"

Yao Yuechuan cursed under his breath and scanned the surroundings. Spotting a half- collapsed building nearby, his eyes lit up.

Throwing another large fireball at the advancing monsters, he ordered, "Head for that building!"

At his command, the team retreated and began running toward the half-collapsed building. Leading the charge, Yao Yuechuan throws countless fireballs, burning a path through the encircling monsters.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As the monsters stopped advancing montarily, Yao Yuechuan shouted, "Quickly! This way!"

The team followed him closely, fighting desperately to hold off the horde. After thirty minutes of life-and-death combat, they finally reached the half-collapsed building. Once inside, Yao Yuechuan commanded, "Build an earth wall around the building!"

As soon as his words fell, two earth-elent ability users imdiately sprang into action. Noticing the growing swarm of monsters closing in, Yao Yuechuan gives another command. "Hold them off! You two, protect them!"

"Yes, Captain!" The two team mbers received the order and rushed to protect the two earth elent ability users.

Under Yao Yuechuan's leadership and the team's coordinated efforts, they managed to fend off the advancing monsters long enough for the earth wall to take shape.

Ten minutes later, one of the earth elent ability users fell to his knees, breathing heavily. "Captain, I have used up all my energy," he said.

Hearing this, Yao Yuechuan quickly opened the small bag tied to his waist and took out a small glass vial. He tossed it to the earth elent ability user and said, "Drink this."

Without hesitation, the man uncorked the glass vial and downed the light-blue liquid. After swallowing, he coughed and took a deep breath.

"How much of your energy is restored?" Yao Yuechuan asked while creating a firewall outside the half-built earth wall.

Closing his eyes briefly, the ability user focused his mind and then replied, "About seventy

percent."

Hearing his response, Yao Yuechuan took out more small glass vials and handed them to the

others while continuing to fend off the deford monsters.

"Drink the potion and keep fighting!" he commanded.

"Yes, Captain!"
