Sighing, Yao Ran continued to use her wood elent energy to scan the area. Although her range was limited to a kiloter, it was enough to detect hidden enemies.

After walking for nearly an hour, they finally reached the central district. Sensing no one nearby, Yao Ran said, "It seems we are the first to co back."

Long Yu nodded in agreent. "Mhm. I also didn't see any traces since we entered the villa area."

After walking for another twenty minutes, they arrived at their villa and found more than half of the first floor buried in sand.

Yao Ran sighed at this sight and said, "Cleaning the sand will be a lot of work."

Walking past the main gate, Shi Xuan inspected the interior and smiled. "The first floor may be buried, but the tempered glass and tal doors kept the sand out. It's still clean inside." Relieved that their villa was intact compared to others, Yao Ran's mood lifted. She looked up to the second floor and said, "Since the first floor is buried, let's enter through the second floor."

"Alright," Long Yu and Shi Xuan agreed.

With that, Yao Ran summoned a vine and threw it onto the second-floor balcony railing. With a tug, she leaped to the balcony. As her feet touched the floor covered by sand, she felt a gush of wind. A second later, Long Yu landed lightly beside her.

Shi Xuan, calm and unhurried, used his space ability to form a few space blades in the air. With ease, he walked up to the second floor as though climbing invisible steps.

Watching his graceful ascent, Yao Ran felt a little bit of envy. It's a pity that her support-type space ability couldn't be used like Shi Xuan's combat-style abilities. Otherwise, she could try what it felt like to walk on air.

Sensing her envious gaze, Shi Xuan smiled and asked, "Want to try walking on air?"

Yao Ran looked at the high sand that needed to be cleaned up and sighed, "Maybe next ti. We should check if the villa's been breached first."

Shi Xuan chuckled, "Alright."

Once Long Yu opened the second-floor tal door, they entered the villa and ca to the living room.

Yao Ran then imdiately spread her wood elent energy to scan the villa from the rooftop to the underground cellar.

After a while, she said, "It's safe. No one is here."

Hearing this, Long Yu and Shi Xuan relaxed their vigilance. Shi Xuan brushed off the sand on his clothes and said, "I'm going to take a bath first."

"Wait," Yao Ran said, handing him a solar lamp. "It's too dark. Use this."

After they removed their night vision goggles, Shi Xuan turned on the solar lamp, which illuminated the second-floor living area brightly. The light was too bright, so Long Yu went to close the tal door and drew the thick curtains to block the light.

With the solar lamp in hand, Shi Xuan headed to his room. After he left, Yao Ran handed a few solar lamps to Long Yu.

She turned on another solar lamp and said, "A Yu, help place these solar lamps around the villa. Living in the dark is inconvenient and too dangerous."

"Alright." Long Yu nodded, took the solar lamps, and went downstairs.

After he left, Yao Ran placed a few solar lamps on the second floor before heading to the third floor to do the sa. Once the villa was brightly lit, she climbed to the rooftop to fill the water tank.

She sat on the top of a ladder and stared into the distance as water flowed from her palms into the water tank. Without the night vision goggles, she couldn't see anything.

The enormous base lay silent, shrouded in darkness. Not even the sound of a mutant disturbed the eerie stillness.

Yao Ran noticed sothing was wrong, frowned, and murmured, "This is strange. Why is there not even a sound here?"

As she pondered the strangeness, Yao Ran realized the water tank was full. After closing the lid, she climbed down the ladder and retrieved a pair of night vision binoculars from her space.

Using the night vision binoculars, she carefully scanned the surrounding area from the rooftop. Despite scanning three tis, Yao Ran couldn't find anything unusual or out of place.

Standing by the railing, she thought, 'Weird. There is nothing wrong or strange, so why do I keep having this bad feeling?'

After thinking for a mont, Yao Ran resud scanning the area. When she decided to use a drone to check other locations, Long Yu ca up to the rooftop.

Seeing her crouched by the railing, working by the light of a small candle, Long Yu asked, "Ran Ran, what are you doing up here?"

Yao Ran paused and turned to look at him. As he approached, she replied, "I want to check the other areas, but it was too dark, so I just swapped this drone's cara for a night vision one. Have you taken a bath?"

"Mhm," Long Yu answered as he crouched beside her. "Let do it."

Knowing that he was more skilled in this area than she was, Yao Ran handed Long Yu the night vision cara and asked, "A Yu, don't you find the silence strange?"

Long Yu looked up at her and replied, "I have already checked the surroundings and didn't notice anything unusual. Did you find sothing?"

Yao Ran frowned at his words and asked again, "Have you heard any sounds since we left the underground shelter?"

At her question, Long Yu realized he had only heard the sounds made by the three of them.

Seeing his expression change slightly, Yao Ran explained, "I have scanned the surroundings multiple tis and even used my wood elent energy to check the soil and sand, but I couldn't detect anything. However, this complete silence and darkness give a bad

feeling."

She paused for a second before asking, "A Yu, have you ever experienced sothing like this in your previous life?"
