The interrogation of Zhang Zhanjun made no progress, basically yielding no information.

This is quite rare; it’s not simply a case of resistance but a situation that only arises from specialized training. Under normal circumstances, people in the interrogation room have their guard up. No suspect willingly accepts interrogation, but normal people, even in silence, inadvertently reveal a lot of information. Even silence can provide the police with feedback through information delivery and facial observation, leading to many answers.

However, Zhang Zhanjun’s silence could truly be expressionless, which is remarkable.

Nevertheless, for soone like Liu Jinghui, who belongs to the reasoning class, high professionalism is also extrely useful information. This not only increases Zhang Zhanjun’s suspicion but also requires intensifying the effort to gather evidence.

It can be imagined that soone like Zhang Zhanjun is probably adept at hiding evidence. You cannot judge his level of concealing evidence and hiding the truth by viewing him as an ordinary company boss.

Liu Jinghui briefly shared his thoughts and told Cui Qishan: "I think we need the involvent of technical investigation. Also, we should study Zhang Zhanjun’s car, including graphic investigation. At least map out Zhang Zhanjun’s daily itinerary, preferably for a month, but at least for 7 days."

He still harbored the hope that the victim might be alive during his analysis.

Cui Qishan agreed without hesitation and said, "I’ll apply to Director Tao, it should be fine."

"If possible, it would be best to also study Zhang Zhanjun’s expenses, to see how the money flows. For soone like him, it’s difficult for us to guess his thoughts, but when he does sothing, he has to spend money. Even committing cris is quite expensive," Liu Jinghui acknowledged that his requests were demanding but still made them.

Cui Qishan glanced at Jiang Yuan and nodded again: "I’ll let Director Tao know, Director Liu. Your requests will most likely be approved by him."

Liu Jinghui felt gratified. In the past, such a request would not have been agreed to so readily by the Criminal Police Brigade of any prefecture-level city in Shannan Province.

The Criminal Police Brigade is an independent unit, as are the technical and graphic investigation brigades and squads. Applying for resources is not impossible, but coordination isn’t always straightforward. Many leaders prefer to take things slow rather than readily agreeing.

Of course, the most critical factor remains funding expenditures. Having captured the man ans the main part of the case is done, and aimless searches and expenses clearly aren’t practical. Even when Liu Jinghui used to operate with the provincial agency’s budget and reputation, the local criminal police teams had their struggles, especially those smaller teams with LV1-level budgets that had to raise funds independently for case work.

Zhengguang Bureau’s Criminal Police Brigade, anwhile, operates at LV5 funding level. While the entire Beijing Bureau might be at an entry-level LV4, Zhengguang Bureau’s reputation has been growing over the past year, allowing it to secure more funds, with the Criminal Police Brigade receiving significant resources, enabling them to fully fund such cases.

Tao Lu’s response ca swiftly, and resources were allocated largely according to Liu Jinghui’s requests.

Jiang Yuan accompanied the team to the Graphic Investigation Brigade.

Zhang Zhanjun’s gait data had already been recorded, allowing it to be put into software to search surveillance videos.

Zhang Zhanjun could remain silent in the interrogation room, but he couldn’t stop walking.

The Graphic Investigation gathered surveillance videos from different locations and tis in places like Beijing and East Birch City, along with so non-standard videos collected by the special task force at the ti, all fed into the software to screen for videos where Zhang Zhanjun appeared.

Cross-referencing this video data with the conclusions from the technical investigation can essentially determine Zhang Zhanjun’s whereabouts during a given period.

In fact, if it were about ordinary people, the once-brilliant "cross-ti interaction" technology could already describe soone’s activities throughout the day.

Since ordinary people constantly carry their phones, the phone’s location is essentially their location.

But Zhang Zhanjun had counter-investigation experience, often not carrying a phone or using another phone, a habit gradually catching on among many elite professionals in public and business sectors.

Due to the missing blank periods, the police paid more attention to this, requiring collaboration with graphic investigation to depict it fully.

Although the steps sound tedious, they truly were tedious, requiring imnse manpower and resources. Resolving one case would take two classrooms full of officers, but compared to previously being unable to act, it was a happy dilemma.

In the evening.

While Jiang Yuan was eating hot pot, data from all parties was compiled.

A warehouse located in the outskirts, frequently visited by Zhang Zhanjun, appeared before everyone.

"The warehouse is under the na of a 38-year-old male nad Li Long. The phone with the sa na frequently coincides with Zhang Zhanjun’s in terms of phone calls and location. Preliminary judgnt suggests that Li Long might have sold his ID," Xiao Si compiled the information and reported to Cui Qishan and Jiang Yuan.

"Having a warehouse under a trading company’s na is normal, but if it’s under soone else’s na... that’s not too uncommon either," Cui Qishan summarized before changing direction, saying, "Wang Chao, take three people and investigate it?"

"I’ll go along," Liu Jinghui put down his chopsticks and added, "I’ll take a few more people too."

Jiang Yuan understood Liu Jinghui’s intention and directly nad, "Shen Yaowei, Tang Jia, and Gao Yuyan... you go with Director Liu."

He deliberately picked two female officers, making it more convenient in case they found the missing Li Ningxia.

Liu Jinghui nodded and stood up to leave.

Shen Yaowei was invigorated, full of enthusiasm. Among the 30-sothing mbers of Jiang Yuan’s Cold Case Squad, only Shen Yaowei had Jiang Yuan’s favorable attention!

"Let’s hope for a good result," Cui Qishan sighed lightly, turning around to start adding cabbage to the hot pot.

The officers at the scene, influenced by his mood, began adding lettuce, spinach, crown daisy, and enoki mushrooms to the hot pot...

There’s no certainty that finding the victim or the victim’s body in the warehouse would be a good thing. Conversely, if they can’t find Li Ningxia there, unless Zhang Zhanjun confesses, finding the body would still be challenging.

As for whether soone like Zhang Zhanjun would ultimately confess, it remains a mystery.

Just one warehouse doesn’t require sending out a dozen cars like on TV. Or perhaps it’s precisely because they often deploy a dozen cars in useless places that police can’t be where they are most needed. Thus viewed, such is a logically consistent world.

Vegetables churned in the hot pot.

at churned in the hot pot.

Jiang Yuan’s phone buzzed.

Jiang Yuan looked at the caller ID and answered, "Director Liu, I have you on speakerphone."

Liu Jinghui responded with a hum and said, "We found two imprisoned won in an interspersed room in the warehouse, both in their 20s. Their physical condition is okay, but their ntal state is poor. Neither is Li Ningxia. Additionally, there is a shredder and so... remains..."
