Chapter 1133: Chapter 1064: Punishnt

“This is Lu Tongda, an officer from the Traffic Police Brigade of the Changyang City Bureau. I’ve asked him to co over today because, in my impression, Xiao Lu’s physique closely matches the suspect’s build.”

Jiang Yuan stood at the center of the eting room, introducing Lu Tongda to everyone. Back when he was handling the Jianyuan Group case and got hit by a dump truck, the first motorbike officer to arrive at the scene was Lu Tongda.

After the Jianyuan case, Lu Tongda returned to the Traffic Police Brigade and earned a promotion. He continued working as a motorbike officer, so he kept himself in great physical shape.

His physical attributes were already excellent — broad shoulders, long legs, a slim waist, young and fit. Based on his body alone, he could easily be snatched up as a male model. But when it ca to his face — that weathered, sun-beaten traffic officer complexion — he might even get rejected as a female model.

“When the killer committed the murder, they gripped the knife handle with both hands. This allows us to deduce their approximate shoulder width. At the very least, it’s on par with Captain Lu’s,” Jiang Yuan gestured for Lu Tongda to stand in position before continuing, “The height is also about the sa, roughly 180 cm. Considering the killer scaled a wall with likely thin shoe soles, their actual height won’t be shorter than this.”

A group of officers, who were about to head out, gathered around Lu Tongda to examine him. As they looked, so even started touching him.

Feeling uneasy from being stared at and startled by being touched, Lu Tongda muttered quietly, “Captain Jiang, co on, out of our entire police force, you had to drag here for this demonstration?”

“Chief Yu’s team only brought about a dozen officers, and none of them fit the physique. That made think of you.” Jiang Yuan chuckled, patting Lu Tongda on the shoulder. “I rember when you were riding your motorbike, your movents were very agile. Can you do a full split? Show everyone.”

Although it sounded like a bit of a joke, with Yu Wenshu standing right in front of him, Lu Tongda could only reluctantly perform a full split.

The crowd was amazed.

“Strong build, broad shoulders, slim waist, and incredible flexibility!” Liu Wenkai tousled Lu Tongda’s hair, clicking his tongue in admiration. “It’s a real sha you’re working in the Traffic Police Brigade.”

Lu Tongda sighed and joked at his own expense, “I never thought, even as a traffic officer, there would co a day when I’d have to perform a full split on command from my superiors.”

Liu Wenkai was the first to burst out laughing. “The key point is, you actually can, you know? Must be from all those motorcycle maneuvers.”

Lu Tongda gave a shy smile and didn’t argue.

“Alright, get up. Everyone, take one last good look at this physique, and then let’s get going.” Jiang Yuan urged them.

With so much ti passing since the case, investigations were fraught with issues. Common ones included suspects moving out of town, achieving drastic weight loss, disappearing altogether, or even dying. Each layer of difficulty required significant ti and manpower, leaving no room for leisurely joking or touching Lu Tongda.

Even now, the touching was ant to help with sharper observations in the next phase.

Standing at the door, Yu Wenshu repeated Jiang Yuan’s earlier instructions systematically: “Four officers to a group. Each group must carry at least one firearm and four stun batons. No solo actions. Whenever splitting up into pairs, ensure there’s nearby backup within short-range.”

Yu Wenshu could not bear any injuries or deaths among the officers. Granted, police officers were indeed on the front lines of the fight, but such dangers were not the point or purpose of their work.

This ti, however, the case involved a suspect who was a reckless fugitive with exceptional physical strength.

To be honest, even with his experience in the Criminal Police Brigade, Yu Wenshu rarely encountered soone with such extraordinary physical prowess, explosive force, and sheer determination to act decisively.

Had it been a more conventional shooter, Yu Wenshu might actually feel less concerned. Knowing the suspect carried a firearm, the detectives conducting interviews would naturally heighten their vigilance. Especially face-to-face, dealing with a suspect holding a gun versus unard would result in different responses.

But this was a master of close-quarter killing. Maybe the conversation would seem normal at first, then one wrong word, and the suspect would suddenly turn violent!

Swirling with endless thoughts, Yu Wenshu kept drinking tea to suppress his anxiety, which soon sent him to the restroom.

By the ti he ca back out, the eting room was already empty.

Yu Wenshu let out a sigh and didn’t say much else. He picked up a book, imrsing himself as if he were a calm and composed stallion.

“Chief Yu, I’m heading out too.” Jiang Yuan, having nearly finished organizing everyone, got up to inform Yu Wenshu.

Yu Wenshu suddenly felt uneasy. “Why are you going too? Leave the interviews to others.”

“If I don’t go, these ten-plus people will just sit around in the eting room with . Besides, with this many people, as long as the other side doesn’t have heavy firepower, I’m not in much danger.” Jiang Yuan smiled. His primary protectors were still Mu Zhiyang and Wen Ming, along with Wang Chuanxing, who carried a tablet. The others returned to their regular duties.

And as Jiang Yuan ntioned, with over ten well-trained ard officers accompanying him, his participation in normal police activities posed little safety risk. As a forensic doctor, he often needed to visit cri scenes. In such major cold cases, seeing the scenes and interacting with suspects had its advantages.

Liu Jinghui, more accustod to this type of investigative approach, followed Jiang Yuan and asked, “Where do you want to go?”

“What’s Director Liu’s suggestion?” Jiang Yuan currently had no specific plan in mind.

“What about the logistics center?” Liu Jinghui proposed.

Jiang Yuan was montarily taken aback. “The logistics center—just a hub for all kinds of parcels and deliveries, right? People rarely work there for more than five years.”

“But from Zhao Qian’s interest, this type of worker is exactly her preference — strong, physically fit, and aggressive…” Liu Jinghui explained briefly before adding, “Even if this person is no longer at the logistics company, there should still be old records. Besides, there might still be people from back then who’ve heard various rumors.”

“I’ll go with you.” Liu Wenkai imdiately volunteered upon hearing this, explaining, “I want to catch those rumors too.”

He didn’t really need to explain — everyone understood.

Jiang Yuan waved him along, and the group ushered him out the door, looking more important than Chief Yu.

Inside the car, Liu Wenkai specifically asked Liu Jinghui, “You seem pretty confident there’ll be rumors.”

“There definitely will be,” Liu Jinghui replied with a smile. “To put it plainly, Zhao Qian had a liking for physically strong blue-collar workers. Being a client representative, and even a junior leader on the client’s side, whenever she visited places like logistics centers, re interactions with the blue-collar workers would spark rampant rumors, even if there was nothing real behind them. And if she actually wanted sothing…”

Liu Wenkai caught on and added, “There might even be cases where people had relations with her and went out bragging about it.”

“It’s possible.” Liu Jinghui smiled again and noted, “Now that Zhao Qian is dead, the rumors might grow even wilder, but…”

At this point, Liu Jinghui’s expression grew more serious. “So rumors, while exaggerated, might not be entirely false.”
