Earlier, when a colossal sword of light appeared in the sky, everyone touched by its radiance was terrified by the dazzling, sky splitting brilliance.
The massive blade descended upon the shinobi world.
The common people trembled in fear, believing it to be divine punishnt.
But Arima, together with the Four Kage, shattered that sword of judgnt in one strike, dispelling the darkness in people's hearts and replacing it with a sense of profound security.
Yet, just as the people let out a sigh of relief, they noticed dense black shadows spreading across the sky, like drops of ink splattered upon a vast canvas.
Those ink dots gradually grew larger. To Arima's eyes, they were clearly massive teorites hurtling toward the earth.
Soon, others realized the truth as well, the ink dots were no illusions but teors plumting down in a terrifying swarm.
The shinobi present wanted desperately to stop them, but were struck with despair: their ans were utterly insufficient.
First, there was no ti to prepare. Second, the teors were far too distant; ordinary techniques could never reach them.
Worse still, the teor shower's impact zone was aid directly at the forr Hidden Leaf Village, what was now Kyoto.
Nearly a million civilians lived there, making it one of the most densely populated areas in the shinobi world.
With the academy's new sester underway, Kyoto was more lively and bustling than ever.
If the teors destroyed this city, the shinobi world would plunge into chaos. The newly established system, so painstakingly built, would collapse in an instant.
This, however, was exactly Isso Otsutsuki's plan.
First, he had unleashed a Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion to draw out Arima and the others. Then, using the Tenseigan enshrined in the temple, he called down a rain of teorites.
In this way, the Five Kage, protecting the "ants" below, would bear the brunt of the onslaught, and the sheer impact force of the teors would annihilate them.
Once the top fighters of the shinobi world were eliminated, endless waves of falling teorites would ensure its complete destruction.
Now, as the civilians looked up at the approaching teor storm, sheer terror consud them. If struck by those boulders, survival was impossible.
Their only hope lay in that lone, small figure in the sky.
He had created countless miracles before, and they believed under his protection, they would once again be delivered from disaster.
Arima was unaware that he had beco the spiritual pillar of the people. His eyes were locked on the rapidly approaching teors, brows furrowing.
Of all the long-range techniques he possessed, the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion in his Tenseigan Chakra Mode was the most effective.
But against such an overwhelming swarm, even he couldn't guarantee success.
At that mont, he suddenly rembered Kazekage, who wielded the broadest defensive jutsu, Magnet Release: Iron Sand World thod. That thought ignited a spark of hope.
If he could exchange for the Magnet Release kekkei genkai, then also for the Iron Sand World thod, he could spread a massive Magnet Release barrier across the skies over Kyoto.
Without hesitation, Arima used the bloodline exchange authority he had saved. The system granted him the Magnet Release.
The instant it was his, a flood of mories and techniques surged into his mind. He realized he could already skillfully wield all kinds of Magnet Release ninjutsu.
It was nothing like when he had first acquired Wood Release.
Arima now understood why the system had emphasized that the bloodline exchange was a special reward.
Not only that, he discovered he could even use unconventional Magnet Release techniques, for instance, an electromagnetic cannon combining Storm Release and Magnet Release, powerful enough to serve as the basis for developing standard weaponry.
It wasn't an exaggeration: in Magnet Release mastery, Arima had already surpassed its founder, Sunahe.
With this trump card, Arima felt much calr.
He ordered the Four Kage down to the ground to organize defensive efforts.
If he missed anything, the ground forces were to unleash everything to smash the remnants and keep Kyoto safe.
He dismissed both Susanoo and the Wood Human Technique to conserve chakra, then reentered Sage Mode while also releasing the chakra sealed in his Yin Seal.
Extending his arms, he unleashed a flood of chakra, transforming it into iron sand that gathered into a massive black cloud hovering above.
Watching the incoming teors, Arima thought, 'Even ocular powers aren't omnipotent. Ninjutsu must never be underestimated.'
Forming the hand seal, he focused all his power, whispering: "Sage Art: Magnet Release, Infinite Iron Sand World thod!"
With that, the massive black cloud spread rapidly, iron sand filling the heavens.
The fine particles interlocked, weaving dense, indestructible iron sand webs. From afar, it looked as though the sky itself had been bitten away.
The shinobi below had never seen such a technique from their Speaker; their curiosity briefly outweighed their fear.
Kazekage of the Land of Wind felt a strange familiarity. As soon as he summoned Magnet Release, the iron sand he created slipped from his control, drawn into the black cloud above.
The others noticed as well and hurried to him.
When he explained what had happened, Mizukage of the Land of Water quipped, "Don't tell the Speaker himself is using Magnet Release?!"
For once, no one rebuked his comnt. The uncharacteristic silence left Yuno oddly unsettled.
Hiruzen took a long drag from his pipe, exhaled a trail of smoke toward the sky, and said slowly, "It wouldn't surprise if little Arima can use Magnet Release.
He's always brought us miracles, hasn't he? I'd wager even Tsunade herself doesn't know the full extent of his trump cards."
As he spoke, the first wave of teorites slamd into the iron sand barriers.
The first three layers tore quickly, but when the teors struck the fourth, they were unexpectedly shredded apart.
By the ti they passed through the remaining layers, they were completely pulverized.
What's more, the shattered teors beca fresh iron sand, further reinforcing the defenses.
Seeing how effective his defense was, Arima finally let out a long breath of relief.
Below, the shinobi erupted in cheers, rejoicing as if reborn.
Wave after wave of teors broke apart, and each ti, the iron sand grew stronger. Eventually, even the first two barriers alone were enough to repel the storm.
But just as hope returned, a new terror descended, dozens of titanic teors, each the size of a mountain, plumted toward the earth.
Arima instantly realized they must not strike the barriers together. Those mountain-sized rocks had to be split apart, then crushed by the iron sand.
By now, natural energy had replenished within him. He created thousands of shadow clones, instructing them to summon allies.
The clones used Kamui to return to the ground, bringing every jōnin up to the first layer of iron sand.
Standing on the solid web, the jōnin felt an overwhelming sense of safety. Wherever the Speaker stood, problems were solved.
A clone addressed them: "We must face this crisis together! Shatter those mountain teors, and the iron sand barriers will take care of the rest!"
His words roused them. They had long yearned to fight beside Arima and serve the shinobi world.
The jonin divided into squads, each targeting a different teor. Soon, the sky blazed with ninjutsu, the spectacle thunderous and grand.
anwhile, Arima reentered Tenseigan Chakra Mode, wielding the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion to slice apart the massive rock before him.
Though powerful, he knew he couldn't destroy every teor alone, that was why he had summoned allies.
Once he shattered his own target, the other squads also completed their tasks. Then the broken fragnts turned into another teor rain, crashing down.
With their mission complete, the clones teleported the jōnin back to the ground.
As Arima dispelled the clones, dizziness struck, his chakra reserves dangerously depleted.
Floating in the sky, staring at the falling teors, he thought, 'What is Isso Otsutsuki really after? Does he intend to wipe out every soul in the shinobi world?'
The teors they had just stopped could have annihilated the entire Land of Fire.
The dust cloud alone would have blanketed the continent, and within three months, deprived of sunlight, most species would perish. The shinobi world itself would wither away.
Isso was a formidable foe. Arima had no idea where he was, so storming his location was impossible.
Instead, Arima resolved to develop the electromagnetic cannon, a conventional weapon that could strengthen the defenses of major cities.
Only then would he be free to set foot on the moon.
