The orange-red sunset stretched across the sky.

Uchiha Hikaru had spent the entire day walking through Konoha with the two little ones, showing them around and even stopping by the Nara Clan’s estate to pick up a custom dicinal prescription for Gekko Hayate to help strengthen his blood and chakra flow.

Hayate carried the dicine pouch while glancing at the invoice in Hikaru’s hand, his gratitude swelling uncontrollably.

Over a million ryo! Just for one prescription!

He knew the cost of dicine. After being promoted to Chunin, he’d only earned a few hundred thousand ryo per C-rank mission. Even teaming up with Jonin to complete a B-rank mission barely brought in 300,000.

This month’s dicine bill alone was more than double his average inco.

And what shocked him most was that Hikaru had already arranged everything with the Nara Clan—moving forward, all his dicine expenses would be charged to the Uchiha account.

The weight of it all brought tears to the thirteen-year-old boy’s eyes.

As for Shino, he wasn’t one for words. He’d barely spoken all day, only answering Hikaru when directly asked.

In the end, Hikaru decided to use the most efficient thod he knew to break through Shino’s shell: money.

He brought Shino straight to a ninja beast breeding shop, bought a variety of rare insects, and handed them over to him. He even shared detailed stories about the Kamizuru Clan of Iwagakure.

After all, in the entire history of the shinobi world, only two clans were famous for insect-based combat: the Kamizuru and the Abura. Naturally, Shino was fascinated. His thirst for knowledge sparked to life, and before long, he was the one asking questions.

Hikaru had finally unlocked Shino’s voice.

As for the expense? Five million ryo. No big deal—it was going on the Uchiha tab. Let Fugaku handle it!

But the one who gave Hikaru the biggest headache was little Hinata.

If he hadn’t been pulling her along the entire day, she probably would’ve just followed the group from a distance.

Even after dinner, once they’d eaten at Ichiraku Ran, Hinata kept her head low and her face red, barely saying a word.

As Hikaru held her wrist and prepared to escort her ho, a strange sound suddenly echoed beside him.

"Grrrgle~"

Hikaru turned toward Hinata, a question mark practically floating above his head.

Wait... that deluxe ran bowl didn’t fill her up? She’s only nine years old!

Hinata’s face burned with sha, her head sinking lower, almost disappearing into her collar.

At ho, her father was always strict—especially now that her younger sister, Hanabi, was nearly surpassing her in training.

Too shy to speak up, Hinata had learned to bottle up her feelings. She coped the only way she knew how—by eating.

Over ti, her appetite had quietly surpassed even Choji Akimichi’s.

And today, the ran bowl she ate was only a third of her usual portion. After a full day of walking, it wasn’t enough. She was barely even half full.

Though she tried to suppress the hunger in her stomach, it had betrayed her.

Her cheeks glowed crimson like ripe apples, her eyes filled with watery shimr. She looked ready to cry at any mont.

Panic surged through Hikaru’s chest.

Shit. I’m about to starve the poor girl. If Hiashi finds out, will he think I’m abusing his daughter?!

He rembered all the s and clips from his previous life—especially the rumors about Boruto and how terrifying "Lawyer Hinata" was supposed to be.

And then he rembered the legendary tales of Hinata’s eating feats at Ichiraku Ran.

Sweat beaded on his brow. He imdiately turned to drag her back for a second round of ran.

But after two steps, he paused.

Ichiraku is great, but that’s too many carbs for a little girl. I need to feed her sothing healthier.

Without another word, he steered her toward the Akimichi Clan’s barbecue restaurant.

They arrived quickly and were escorted to a private room. Hikaru scanned the nu, circled a few vegetarian items, and handed it to the waiter.

The waiter blinked.

"...This is all?"

"I don’t want the circled ones. I want two of everything else."

"Right away, sir!"

The waiter bowed and disappeared, clearly trained to handle outrageous orders without blinking—standard for any Akimichi-run establishnt.

Hinata sat quietly across from Hikaru, her hands folded at her chest, index fingers tapping together, looking hesitant and overwheld.

She clearly wanted to say sothing—but couldn’t.

She looked adorable, yes, but the silence was frustrating too. Hikaru felt helpless. He couldn’t just scold her like he would an Uchiha kid.

If this were Sasuke, I’d slap him twice and be done with it.

Just then, the waiter returned, pushing a cart loaded with sizzling dishes.

"Please enjoy your al!"

Hikaru got to work.

He placed the red and white cuts of at onto the grill, cranked the heat to high, and activated his Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

With enhanced dynamic vision, he monitored the grill with perfect precision.

Chopsticks flew across the table as he flipped the at, dipped it into cumin, chili powder, and special sauces, then placed the finished pieces neatly onto Hinata’s plate.

He spoke as he worked, his tone calm and instructional.

"This is pork belly—alternating fat and lean layers. The fat enhances the flavor of the at, rich but not greasy. Coated in spice, the aroma explodes."

"This one’s shoulder blade at—full-bodied and tender."

"This... is tenderloin. Try it."

The savory aroma filled the room. The at glistened under the warm light, and Hikaru’s voice, smooth and precise, described each dish in vivid detail.

Hinata could take no more.

Shyness gave way to hunger. She slowly picked up her chopsticks, grabbed a piece of at, and placed it in her mouth.

The flavor burst on her tongue—succulent, rich, seasoned perfectly. The fatigue of the day lted away with every bite.

For a mont, all the unhappiness in her heart disappeared.

She looked up, her eyes misty.

Her future teacher was sweating, cooking at for her with quiet focus.

So different from the cold, silent servants of the Hyuga Clan.

This—this warmth... was real.

It was the first ti soone had cared for her like this.

The first ti soone had fed her not out of obligation, but out of kindness.

The first ti sothing tasted like happiness.

And in that mont, a tiny flower blood deep in her heart. A crack ford in the walls she’d built around herself. Through that crack, for the very first ti...

A beam of sunlight reached her darkness.
