Chapter 123: Cultivation in a Realm Apart

As Suigetsu and Karin shakily got to their feet, Ren reached into the empty air. With a subtle ripple of chakra, three small vials materialized in his hand. They were filled with a liquid that seed to hold its own inner light, shimring with a faint, ethereal pulse. He had replenished his stock after the transaction with Orochimaru, using the last of the Geller Ore he possessed.

Sasuke's eyes, ever observant, flickered with recognition at the sight of the vials, but he remained silent.

Ren held the pulsating potions up for the new recruits to see. "Consider this your first opportunity," he announced, his voice echoing slightly in the barren landscape. "This is a rare elixir. It will fundantally enhance your physical constitution and amplify your chakra reserves. Drink it, dedicate yourselves to absorbing its power, and the strength you gain will far surpass your current limits."

"Seriously, Boss?" Suigetsu's eyes widened, gleaming with avarice. "And it looks... tasty!" For him, the potential power boost was almost secondary to the novelty.

In contrast to Suigetsu's excitent, Karin and Jūgo were more reserved. Karin adjusted her glasses, her gaze analytical and skeptical. "An elixir that powerful? I've studied every dical text in Orochimaru's archives. I've never heard of such a thing. What's the proof?"

Ren's eyes narrowed. "You doubt my word?"

"It's not about doubt," Jūgo interjected softly, his voice hesitant. "There are four of us new to your service. Yet you only have three vials. Does this an one of us is deed unworthy? If so, I decline. My strength is a curse I bear; I do not need an artificial boost. Give them to the others." His concern was for the group's cohesion, not for himself.

A cold smirk played on Ren's lips. "Your worry is misplaced. Sasuke has already partaken of this elixir. Its effects are most potent on the first ingestion. Subsequent doses offer diminishing returns, negligible to soone of his current level. Does that answer your question?"

Jūgo nodded slowly, satisfied. "I see. Then I have no objection."

Karin, however, upon hearing that *Sasuke* had already consud the potion, underwent a visible change. Her skeptical posture softened. *If Sasuke trusted it...* she thought, a new determination settling on her face.

"Hey! If they're still on the fence, Boss, I'll take all three!" Suigetsu volunteered, licking his lips. "I'll make sure not a drop goes to waste!"

Ren shot him a glare that could freeze fire. "Silence! Do you think this is so common grog you can guzzle? This is a concentrated essence of power. One vial per person. It is not a beverage." He turned his gaze back to Karin. "Well? My offer stands. Do you accept, or shall I conserve this precious resource?"

Karin flushed, caught in her earlier skepticism. "I... Upon further consideration, as a mber of this team, it would be counterproductive to refuse a tool that could benefit the unit. So... I will accept it."

"Of course you will," Ren said dryly, tossing a vial to her with a flick of his wrist. She caught it deftly.

"Good. Now, I am going to send you to a special location. Once there, you will drink the elixir. For the foreseeable future, you will remain there, focused solely on growing stronger. I will not summon you until the ti is right. Now, all of you, relax your minds. Do not resist what cos next."

"What are you going to do?" Karin asked, instantly on guard again.

"If I wished you harm, you would already be dead," Ren stated, his tone leaving no room for argunt. "We are companions now, however loosely defined. Act like it. Trust, for now, is a requirent."

Though uneasy, they all knew he was right. His power was so absolute that subterfuge was unnecessary. With varying degrees of reluctance, they allowed their defenses to lower.

"Rember," Ren warned for the final ti, "no matter what you feel, do not resist."

A collective, mumbled assent ca from the group.

"Then we begin." Thɪs chapter is updated by n0velfire

Ren focused his will. There was no grand jutsu, no flash of light. One mont, Sasuke, Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo were standing on the sun-baked earth. The next, the world dissolved around them in a nauseating lurch.

When their senses cleared, they were no longer in the badlands. They stood on a vast, open plain, under a sky that held no sun yet was uniformly bright. The air was still and strangely pure. In the distance, a lush, vibrant forest grew, surrounding the clearing with an almost unnatural vitality. The sheer size of this place was staggering, spanning the area of several large training grounds.

"What... what is this place?" Suigetsu gasped, spinning around to take in the impossible scenery. Even Sasuke's composure was broken, his eyes wide with shock at the instantaneous translocation.

"Impressed?"

Ren's voice ca from behind them. They turned to see him standing there, as if he had been there all along.

"Boss! What the hell was that? Where are we?" Suigetsu demanded, his voice a mixture of awe and panic.

"Calm yourself," Ren commanded. "This is a dinsion of my own creation. A personal realm. Within its boundaries, I control the very fabric of reality: space, ti, and matter."

"An... advanced genjutsu?" Sasuke ventured, his analytical mind struggling to categorize the experience.

"You could think of it as a cousin to that art, but this world is real. It is as tangible as the one we just left." Ren proceeded to explain the nature of his Origin Space, its properties, and his absolute authority within it. He detailed the ability to manipulate the flow of ti and the composition of the environnt.

"Do you understand?" he concluded. "This will be your training ground. You will remain here and grow strong. From ti to ti, I will introduce powerful adversaries into this space. Your task is simple: defeat them. Hone your skills against the best I can procure. When you have reached a level I deem acceptable, I will retrieve you."

Without waiting for their questions or protests, Ren reached out and placed a hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "You will accompany . Your training lies elsewhere."

In another disorienting blink, Ren and Sasuke vanished from the strange, idyllic plain, leaving Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo alone in the silent, expansive realm, clutching their vials of glowing liquid and trying to comprehend the incredible new reality of their situation.
