"Patriarch, what are you talking about?"
Uchiha Chi's face turned pale as he tried to explain.
"Don't quibble. Since I said it, there must be solid evidence," Uchiha Fugaku responded coldly, unmoved.
"It was discovered after all!"
Seeing Fugaku's firm tone, Uchiha Chi stopped defending himself, knowing it was useless to continue. He had always worried that his identity as an insider would be exposed, and it often haunted his dreams. Now, the day had finally arrived.
"Although you're only half Uchiha blood, the Uchiha family has never treated you unfairly. Is this how you repay the Uchiha clan?" Fugaku looked at Chi with disgust.
The Uchiha family had always treated Chi equally and protected him, placing him in a safe area in the rear. If not, Chi, who was only twelve at the ti, might not have survived the Second and Third Ninja World Wars. Though his talent and hard work led him to beco an elite jonin, he could not have done it without the clan's support. His path had been easier compared to civilian elite jonin, and yet he had betrayed them.
"I know I have let my family down. I feel sorry for them," Chi admitted, ashad. Fugaku's words brought back mories. He rembered when his father died in battle, and his mother brought him back to the Uchiha clan. Though cold to outsiders, the Uchiha were caring to their own, and it was that care that allowed him to survive the brutal wars.
"Stop with the hypocrisy. If you really felt guilty, you wouldn't have betrayed us for sixteen years, letting things develop to this point," Fugaku said coldly.
"Although I feel guilty, I don't regret it," Chi shook his head. "Konoha needs peace. Everything I do is for Konoha's peace. The Uchiha clan cannot bring that peace—only the Third Hokage and the Will of Fire can."
"The Will of Fire?" Fugaku sneered. "Another person brainwashed by the Third Hokage. His ability to manipulate people is impressive, I'll admit. First Shisui, then Itachi, now you."
"The Third Hokage is no hypocrite! He embodies the Will of Fire!" Chi glared angrily.
"Is that so? Do you even know what he's done behind your back?" Fugaku said disdainfully. "He drove Konoha's White Fang to suicide, let Orochimaru escape, and delayed choosing a new Hokage—"
"Stop insulting him!" Enraged, Chi's Sharingan spun rapidly as he activated his most powerful genjutsu, The Shackles.
Huge tal wedges appeared, pinning Fugaku to the ground and inflicting imnse pain.
"Using illusion on ?" Fugaku smirked with contempt. Against anyone else, even a Kage-level shinobi, such illusions might work. But in front of his Mangekyō Sharingan, this was foolish.
With a swirl of his Mangekyō Sharingan, the tal wedges broke apart, and he shattered Chi's illusion effortlessly. Not only that, but he pulled Chi into a deeper illusion using his right eye's ability.
"Mangekyō Sharingan... you activated it!" Chi gasped in horror, recognizing the distinctive pattern in Fugaku's eyes. The legendary Mangekyō Sharingan, which had not been seen since Uchiha Madara, now appeared in the eyes of the man Chi had once considered average.
"As soone with Uchiha blood, I'm sure you've always wanted to see these eyes. Today, I'll show you their power!" Fugaku said coldly.
Feeling desperate, Chi quickly ford hand seals. "Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
A massive fire dragon surged toward Fugaku, but Fugaku rely raised his finger, creating a fire dragon of his own. The two dragons collided, exploding into nothingness.
Chi continued to throw powerful ninjutsu at Fugaku, but each was effortlessly blocked with the sa jutsu, cast without any hand signs.
"No hand signs!" Chi realized, his forehead drenched in sweat. It wasn't that Fugaku's seals were too fast—he wasn't using them at all. Fugaku's control of his ninjutsu was beyond what Chi had ever imagined.
He tried to flee, but no matter where he went, Fugaku appeared in front of him instantly. It was hopeless. He felt like a small insect trying to shake a tree, powerless against Fugaku's overwhelming strength.
