Uchiha Fugaku sighed.
The True Illusion was broken, and Night Guy failed to land on Uchiha Shisui.
With the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan, he had managed to block Shisui's Kotoamatsukami.
But Shisui wasn't weak either—he had managed to break free from the True Illusion using his own Mangekyō Sharingan.
Both sides had neutralized each other's dojutsu.
The reason Fugaku had activated the Eighth Gate imdiately was to kill Shisui as soon as possible.
Though he knew Izanagi would allow Shisui to survive, forcing him to use it at the cost of blindness would have been a victory.
Unfortunately, he had failed.
"What a terrifying illusion! No, this is far more than just an illusion!"
Even after breaking free, Shisui was still shaken.
His entire back was drenched in sweat.
Glancing at the wound on his right hand, his suspicions were confird.
The death of his six Anbu comrades now made sense—death inside the illusion resulted in real death.
The wound he received from his broken sword inside the illusion was still present in reality.
If he had actually died in there, he would have been forced to activate Izanagi.
"And that's not all..."
His gaze locked onto Uchiha Fugaku, who stood completely unhard.
Inside the illusion, Fugaku had sacrificed himself by opening the Eighth Gate—but because it was an illusion, he suffered no real damage.
Using powerful jutsu that would normally cost his life, without suffering any consequences—this illusion was far beyond anything he had encountered.
"Kotoamatsukami is useless now. I can no longer control the clan leader with it. There's only one option left…"
Tightening his grip on his sword, a sharp killing intent appeared in Shisui's young yet determined eyes.
For the sake of Konoha's peace, Uchiha Fugaku had to die today.
"Body Flicker Technique—"
Shisui vanished in a blur, his speed overwhelming.
Avoiding Fugaku's front, he reappeared behind him, his sword stabbing straight for Fugaku's back.
Clang—!
Fugaku turned swiftly, his Mangekyō Sharingan allowing him to predict the attack, and blocked the sword with his kunai.
But Shisui disappeared again, reappearing on another side, slashing horizontally.
Tear—
Fugaku barely dodged, but his clothes were slashed, and a thin scratch appeared on his skin, a few drops of blood seeping out.
Before he could react, Shisui attacked again from yet another angle.
"This can't continue!"
Seeing the accumulating scratches, Fugaku frowned.
Shisui's mastery of the Body Flicker Technique made his taijutsu incredibly sharp.
In terms of pure speed and hand-to-hand combat, Fugaku was at a disadvantage.
He needed to change his approach.
"Ice Release: Ice Spikes—"
Frost spread through the ground, and in an instant, huge ice spikes erupted in all directions—like bamboo shoots piercing out after a spring rain.
Each spike was over ten ters tall, and razor-sharp.
Shisui was right in the middle of it.
"Body Flicker Technique—"
At the very last second, Shisui disappeared, reappearing dozens of ters away, escaping the deadly trap.
"Ice Release?"
His eyes widened as he stared at the field of ice spikes.
Uchiha Fugaku—a mber of the Uchiha Clan—was using Ice Release, a Kekkei Genkai of the Yuki Clan?
"How do you know Ice Release?"
"That's not for you to know."
Fugaku responded coldly, already forming another set of hand seals.
"Ice Release: Frozen Rain—"
From above, countless ice spears ford and then rained down toward Shisui like a storm.
Whoosh—
Shisui flashed away again, crossing another dozen ters to avoid the attack.
Then, he quickly ford a seal.
"Clone Jutsu—"
Several identical Shisuis appeared, spreading out and attacking from different angles.
Fugaku's eyes sharpened.
His Mangekyō tried to track which one was real—but it was useless.
Shisui's real body kept switching places with his clones at an impossible speed.
Each Shisui was both real and fake at the sa ti.
Whoosh!
All of them attacked at once, swords slashing toward Fugaku.
Fugaku's expression darkened.
He couldn't afford to ignore any of them—because at any mont, one of them could be real.
"Ice Release: Ice Spikes—"
The ground froze again, sending spikes bursting in all directions.
Plop! Plop! Plop!
One by one, the Shisuis were impaled—but they were all clones.
Suddenly—
One Shisui swung his sword, slicing through an ice spike, charging straight at Fugaku.
"Wind Chakra: Blade Form—"
Fugaku infused his kunai with wind chakra, turning it into a long, green wind blade, and slashed toward Shisui.
But—it passed through thin air.
"Another clone?"
At that mont, another Shisui attacked from behind.
"I was waiting for this mont—"
Fugaku smirked.
Forming a single hand seal, he activated:
"Ice Release: Ice Cage!"
This ti, the ice cage trapped himself.
Or rather—it trapped everything around him, including Shisui.
Crack—!
Shisui's movents froze instantly.
As the creator of the ice cage, Fugaku could move freely within it.
But Shisui, caught inside, was now completely immobilized.
His Body Flicker Technique had finally been stopped.
