"Impossible!"
Inside the mountain, Black Zetsu's face was filled with shock. He instantly abandoned the White Zetsu he was possessing and dove straight underground. The mont the Deva Path completed Chibaku Tensei, he had taken the chance to use Mayfly to infiltrate the main peak where Nagato's real body was hidden, slipping in at mid-mountain.
At the summit, the "peak" used by Konan as camouflage was directly locked onto by Naruto as the gravitational core of Chibaku Tensei. The instant the jutsu activated, the tip of the mountain deford violently.
Crack—crack—
All the surrounding mountains in the pass began to collapse. Vast quantities of rock tore free and flew toward the summit at terrifying speed, as dense as a rainstorm.
BOOM!
"Shinra Tensei!"
A furious shout rang out from the peak. A semi-transparent sphere roughly ten ters in diater flashed into existence—then vanished. All the incoming boulders were blown apart into dust.
For a split second, Nagato, seated in his specially made wheelchair, and Konan were exposed—
But only for that instant. An endless tide of rocks surged in again.
Sothing strange happened.
It was as if an invisible barrier existed there. Every boulder slamd into an unseen wall, sticking to it like stones hitting transparent glass. Nagato and Konan's position beca a spherical vacuum.
Nagato suddenly looked up.
Taking advantage of the brief opening created by Shinra Tensei, he saw a pale face above him—lips curled in a mocking smile, staring straight down at him.
Konan followed his gaze—and her expression shook violently.
"Orochimaru!"
Hovering above them was Orochimaru, black hair hanging down, slit pupils gleaming.
"How is this possible?! He doesn't even have the Rinnegan—how can he control a god's power?! And his strength… it's far beyond mine!"
Nagato's Rinnegan were wide with disbelief.
He had known Orochimaru would appear sooner or later—but he never imagined Orochimaru would use Chibaku Tensei against him. Still less had he imagined that Orochimaru's power would be this overwhelming.
The pressure around them intensified. Nagato felt the barrier sustained by Shinra Tensei shrinking rapidly. His heart jumped—and two extra arms sprouted from his right shoulder.
But at that exact mont, a wave of dread hit him.
Space warped in front of his eyes. Nagato jerked backward instinctively—
Too slow.
Especially while seated in a wheelchair.
Konan's heart lurched. Before she could even react, she saw a twisted vortex tear open a head-sized hole straight through Nagato's chest.
THUD!
Nagato collapsed backward in his chair, blood gushing out like a fountain. Konan's beautiful eyes went wide—she could hardly believe what she was seeing.
The instant Nagato fell, the Shinra Tensei barrier vanished.
The surrounding boulders crashed inward again.
"No!!!"
Konan scread. Her body exploded into countless sheets of paper that scattered in all directions—each sheet detonating the mont it struck a rock.
High in the sky, Naruto—still wearing Orochimaru's appearance—frowned slightly.
"He's still not summoning the Ten-Tails' husk?"
Monts earlier, Naruto had used Kamui to ambush Nagato. His original plan was to resolve everything in one go—he deliberately avoided Nagato's head, intending to push him into desperation so that he would summon the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, allowing Naruto to finish everything with a single Chibaku Tensei.
With both Senju and Uzumaki bloodlines, Nagato shouldn't have died imdiately. Naruto could still sense his chakra—faint, but present. A summoning jutsu should still have been possible.
After all, in canon, Nagato had still been able to deliver a whole "life philosophy lecture" after using Rinne Tensei.
"…Forget it. Taking the Rinnegan first and summoning later works just as well."
Having made his decision, Naruto clapped his hands together again.
The mountain peak where Nagato lay tore free and shot upward. Then the entire main mountain began collapsing from its base. The amount of rock flying skyward instantly doubled, accelerating even faster.
In the blink of an eye, a gigantic sphere ford in the sky—and it continued to grow.
RUMBLE—
"Impossible! Impossible! This is Hagoromo and Hamura's power! You're not Orochimaru! Who are you?!"
"I didn't even use Yin–Yang Release, and you still recognized their power? Impressive—worthy of their brother. But realizing it now is far too late."
Naruto watched calmly as a black line as thick as an arm writhed unnaturally at the edge of the stone sphere—like a black earthworm.
The difference was that this "worm" had orange-yellow eyes and a mouth full of saw-like white teeth.
More amusing still—
After wriggling for a mont, it was torn clean in half, only to be smashed straight back into the sphere by newly arriving boulders.
"No! This isn't how it was supposed to be! A plan a thousand years in the making—I won't accept this!"
After that roar, only the sound of colliding stone remained.
Monts later, the sphere stabilized at a diater exceeding five hundred ters.
Not long after that, another Orochimaru flew over—followed by the enormous stone satellite that Nagato had used to capture Matatabi and Gyūki.
Naruto shifted his consciousness into the Mirror World, confird several things with the tailed beasts, then cast Ultra–Light-Weight Rock Technique on both spheres.
After dispelling the remaining clone at the scene, he guided the two teor-like stone masses upward. Within a dozen breaths, they vanished into the thick clouds.
Kumogakure
The Fourth Raikage, A, slamd the Animal Path brutally into the ground, confusion written across his face.
At that mont, a short-haired, dark-skinned woman with ash-gray hair—looking very much like a secretary—walked up behind him and opened a folder.
"Raikage-sama! The Intelligence Division has extracted information from two of the captured intruders. But according to them… those intruders were corpses to begin with."
"…What?"
The Raikage's eyes narrowed. "You're saying they were already dead?"
"Raikage-sama, bad news!"
A short-haired Cloud ninja with a lollipop in his mouth leapt over anxiously.
"The Sensor Unit just reported that Master B and Yugito have been taken!"
"Damn it!"
The Raikage smashed the Animal Path deeper into the ground.
"Why wasn't reinforcents sent?! Where's the Sensor Unit—take to them! I'm going to bring my brother and Yugito back myself!"
"They said—"
The ninja hesitated.
"Spit it out!"
The Raikage roared.
The ninja spat out his lollipop, handed over a pair of binoculars, and said awkwardly:
"They said… Master B and Yugito were taken into the sky by the enemy's ninjutsu."
"What?!"
The Raikage snatched the binoculars and scanned the sky furiously. He saw nothing.
Just as his anger was about to explode, a group of people dressed nothing like ninja began waving frantically in the distance.
"Raikage-sama! Please co quickly!"
BOOM!
The ground shattered as the Raikage flashed over to them.
"Raikage-sama, please sit here and take a look."
The crowd parted, revealing a massive machine—mounted with a tal barrel five ters long and as thick as a water tank.
The Raikage's expression changed instantly. He sat down without hesitation and bellowed:
"Bring out the Chakra Cannon!"
High in the air, Naruto stared in surprise as several people pushed a tank-like machine out of a mountain tunnel.
"…They can use that already?"
Upper Atmosphere
"A chakra cannon?"
By now, Naruto had already left the Land of Lightning. He was ascending toward the sosphere with the two stone spheres.
One hand held a glowing orb—he was just about to absorb the chakra of Nagato, Konan, and Black Zetsu—when the clone left in Kumogakure suddenly reported that the Raikage was planning to shoot him down with a chakra cannon.
"Oh? They're already counting down?" Naruto mused.
"I rember it takes about a hundred seconds to fully charge, doesn't it?"
Nine black orbs instantly appeared behind him, spreading and rging into a massive black curtain.
One minute later—
A blinding beam of light shot up from Kumogakure, piercing straight into the sky.
"Impossible!"
"What could block a dispersive chakra cannon?!"
On a high platform in the village, two ninja seated at the firing console stared in disbelief.
"Keep pumping chakra into it!"
The Raikage roared at the operators below.
"W-what is that?!"
Soone scread beside him.
The others all looked up.
The Raikage turned—
And saw a massive blazing-white beam descending from the sky, eerily similar to the one they had just fired.
"Scatter!"
The Raikage roared, lightning chakra flaring to its absolute limit.
BOOM!
The firing platform disintegrated instantly. The Raikage barely escaped—because instinct told him he couldn't block it.
He was right.
The beam reduced the platform and the chakra cannon to dust, then continued forward. After several breaths, it curved back—
This ti slicing straight through one-third of Kumogakure.
A gigantic chasm split the village cleanly in two, the beam continuing onward until it finally carved into the ocean.
Evening
The Raikage and his subordinates stood stunned above the sea.
Ahead of them, the ocean abruptly ended, as if torn apart. It was like a colossal rift tens of thousands of kiloters wide.
Endless seawater poured silently into the abyss.
Like a bottomless fault-line waterfall.
Before the trench lay a fathomless canyon—
and beyond it, a vast expanse of absolute darkness, like the edge of a black hole.
