Naruto stared at a small island out on the sea. At its center, a massive volcanic crater belched thick, rolling smoke. The column rose several miles into the sky, and the towering cumulonimbus from earlier had clearly ford under its influence.

"Soone—soone save !"

The cries for help continued. Through his sensing, Naruto caught two strange chakra signatures locked in a stalemate inside the crater. One was savage and chaotic. The other was hanging by a thread—like a candle fla that could go out at any mont.

Ever since mastering Six Paths senjutsu, Naruto's sensory abilities had beco far more than simply detecting presence. In Sage Mode, his range had expanded to an absurd level. Through that sense, he could brush against other people's emotions and fleeting thoughts, feel the flow of all living things—and his understanding of the world itself had shifted in a strange, profound way.

But it could also beco a nuisance.

Like the desperate voice calling to him now.

After a brief mont's thought, Naruto vanished into a distorted whirlpool of space-ti. The view snapped—

Space warped at the rim of the volcano, and Naruto stepped out of the swirl once more.

"So it really is a base."

A quick glance confird it. Nurous man-made tunnels had been carved into the crater walls. Following the direction of the plea, Naruto dove down. Passing through an opening, he saw sothing grotesque: a huge, big-headed doll the height of a three-story building.

From its belly, two umbilical-cord-like tendrils stretched out, binding a golden barrier more than twenty ters away.

Inside that golden do crouched a red-haired little girl. Countless golden sealing formulae circled the barrier in a whirling dance, and behind her, several chains ford from the sa glowing script were rooted into the ground like stakes.

"So it's her…"

Naruto's gaze sharpened with recognition. He'd stumbled onto the island from the canon—an out-of-the-way place where so unknown faction had been raising summons. In his previous life, he'd dismissed it as irrelevant to the main plot and never paid much attention. He only rembered that this girl had a real talent for fūinjutsu.

"And judging by that sealing… she might even be from my mom's side."

No sooner had the thought crossed his mind than the giant doll seed to notice him. Two more belly-cords snapped out and whipped toward Naruto.

Naruto didn't even change expression.

In an instant, a half-translucent sphere of light ford in his palm. He flicked it forward. The sphere expanded the mont it hit the air, slamming into the doll. The two cords rushing at him disintegrated on contact—turned to ash as if erased.

A flash.

A hemispherical crater appeared in the ground.

And the big-headed doll was gone without a trace.

At the sa ti, the two cords binding the golden barrier dropped to the floor with a wet slap. The do collapsed into scattered sealing formulae that dissolved into nothing.

"Hah… hah…"

The red-haired girl went limp, sprawling onto the ground as she gulped air. "I… I thought I was going to die…"

Once her breathing steadied, she scrambled to her feet and ran up to Naruto, gratitude plain on her face.

"Thank you…! Thank you for saving !"

Naruto smiled. "What's your na?"

"I'm Honoka."

There was a flicker of sadness in her eyes—quickly buried, as if she'd practiced hiding it.

"Honoka…" Naruto repeated. Then he asked, "Are you planning to stay here?"

"I… don't know."

Honoka looked lost. "I don't even know where I can go. They brought to this island because I could use sealing jutsu… but now they're all dead."

Naruto nodded slightly. "Then how about working for ?"

Honoka froze. "You… need my strength too?"

Naruto just chuckled. He spread his fingers—

and a golden chakra chain slid out from his palm.

Mount Myōboku

After sending Kurama back to the plaza, Naruto returned to the base and ran into sothing strange:

Edo Tensei wouldn't work.

"The summoning contract is fine. The Impure World fragnts rose like they always do… but Shisui's soul just won't co."

On the Summoning Island, Honoka had recognized the technique imdiately—Adamantine Sealing Chains—and she hadn't hesitated for even a mont. She followed Naruto back to the Land of Spring, and now she was staying with Kushina and Karin's newly revived mother.

Naruto himself went to the training field. Near evening, Orochimaru reported that the cloned Mangekyō Sharingan of Shisui and Itachi were finished.

As expected—once Naruto swapped them in, he absorbed that strange, foreign energy again.

This ti was different from when he'd absorbed Obito's single eye. With full pairs, he obtained the complete abilities of two Mangekyō sets in full.

Then, thinking it would be a waste not to squeeze every last bit of use out of it, he tried to use Edo Tensei to summon Shisui.

It failed.

There was only one explanation:

Sothing had changed on the Pure Land side.

In canon, the Sage of Six Paths could override Edo Tensei and release souls back to the afterlife. If this was any indication, then from now on, he wasn't letting anyone go.

"Then let's try the One's Own Life Reincarnation…"

Naruto summoned Chiyo over, then snapped the neck of a Tenzo clone.

Minutes passed.

Chiyo fell silent—dead.

But the Tenzo clone didn't revive.

Naruto mulled it over, then had Orochimaru release the puppets he'd created long ago through Edo Tensei—

and pillars of ascending light imdiately appeared.

"Souls go in… but nothing cos out."

Naruto's lips curled into a cold smile. Once he opened the World Gate and severed the connection between the shinobi world and the Pure Land for good, he'd like to see the "Six Paths brothers" keep collecting souls then.

Just then, another thread of consciousness from within the Mirror World sent him an interesting report.

Sasuke had just successfully used the Mangekyō Sharingan to copy Naruto's kekkei genkai:

Ice Release and Magnet Release.

Naruto's thoughts shifted, and he stepped into the Mirror World. He opened Sasuke's status window.

Sasuke had those strange, three-tomoe Mangekyō eyes wide open, staring hard at the hundreds of shadow clones Naruto had left training on the field. Excitent was written all over his face. Black sand-iron floated around him, and now and then, he condensed it into blades of ice.

"Interesting…"

Naruto couldn't help recalling what had happened five nights earlier—when Sasuke had suddenly used the Partial Expansion Jutsu.

That night, after reaching an understanding with several tailed beasts, Naruto had searched Sasuke's mories. That was when he discovered the truth: Sasuke's Mangekyō had awakened into an eerie kind of copying power.

In theory, Sasuke's Mangekyō could analyze—without limit—any ninjutsu, secret technique, kekkei genkai, even kekkei tōta… and even the abilities of other Mangekyō Sharingan. Then, through his own eyes, he could replicate them for himself.

And Sasuke had awakened that power because of Naruto.

Because when Sasuke witnessed Naruto slaughter his parents and the entire Uchiha clan, what he wanted—more than anything—was to beco like Naruto: to master every technique with obscene ease, to grasp bloodline limits for no reason at all, to grow strong without any logic to it.

His final thought back then had been simple:

Only by possessing the sa monstrous ability could he ever defeat Naruto.

But Sasuke didn't understand the Mirror World at all. He believed that power was simply a bloodline limit Naruto himself had awakened.

And so, Sasuke awakened a Mangekyō that reflected that warped wish.

Because Sasuke could only comprehend what he could see, his eyes could only theoretically copy everything. Worse—if he failed to analyze a target even once, his eyes would dismiss it entirely, and he would never be able to copy that thing again.

On the first day Sasuke visited the training field, Naruto had his shadow clones run a test—starting with Wood Release. Sasuke returned to the lab with blood pouring from his eyes.

On the second day, Naruto used senjutsu and Dust Release. Sasuke's eyes bled again.

On the third day, Naruto demonstrated Flying Thunder God Technique right in front of him. Sasuke went rigid on the spot—he couldn't copy it at all.

On the fourth day, Naruto used Adamantine Sealing Chains. Sasuke got sothing this ti: a few chains ford from curse-mark patterns drilled out from his body.

And today, with Magnet Release and Ice Release, Sasuke finally succeeded in mastering two kekkei genkai.

Half a month later, Naruto had just finished absorbing the dōjutsu power from Obito's right eye when Isobu contacted him through the Mirror World with an urgent ssage.

It had revived.
