Then, he trapped them inside a Chibaku Tensei as if they were nothing more than chakra batteries.
Nagato was different. He wasn't the original owner of Rinnegan, and his control over it was lacking.

Pain descended from the air, and pressed his hands together in a firm seal.

Nagato coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Konan worriedly said, "Nagato! What are you doing?!"
"There's no need to take it this far! If he's too strong, just retreat!"
Nagato shook his head as blood dripped from his mouth.
He said in a weak voice, "Don't stop , Konan..."
"Uchiha Yuta... Let's see if you can handle this!"
A black sphere appeared in his trembling palm.
The air around the black sphere warped.
The black sphere was so dark, and so dense, that even light seed to be devoured by it.
Nagato raised his hand and let go.
The black sphere shot into the sky.
"Chibaku Tensei!"
Pain's voice thundered across the battlefield.
A massive gravitational explosion erupted.
CRACK!
The ground split apart.
Everything including rocks, trees, even chunks of mountains began rising into the air, drawn toward the black core.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Even though he was over ten miles away, Orochimaru could still feel the pull.
If the gravitational force was this strong here, how insane was it at the center?!
He has to move.
anwhile, the golden Susanoo was also being pulled towards the core of Chibaku Tensei.
Orochimaru glanced back as he fled.
"Co on, Pain. Kill him." He muttered under his breath.
Pain was dangerous but at least he wasn't trying to enslave him.
If soone was going to win no matter what, he really didn't want that person to be Yuta.
Back on the battlefield, Yuta remained composed.
He let the Susanoo be pulled in, and let the Susanoo draw both of it's swords.
In the sky, a massive sphere that was hundreds of ters in diater was forming.
But Yuta remained unfazed.
"Not now."
The Susanoo lifted its sword.
Yuta didn't resist the pull. Instead, he allowed the gravity to pull him in and then swung his blade.
BOOM!
A single earth-shattering slash tore through the sky.
The colossal sphere split apart. The black core at its center shattered instantly.
The entire Chibaku Tensei, Pain's ultimate technique was undone in a single stroke.
Pain's expression froze in horror.
"Impossible."
