Seeing Jiraiya enter Sage Mode, many among them decided that they should get closer to him in the future.
Whether or not Jiraiya beca Hokage, his sheer talent alone was reason enough to build ties with him. Even if he never ascended to the position, his overwhelming strength would undoubtedly grant him considerable influence over Konoha.
"Surrender and you will be spared. Resist, and you will be cut down."
Jiraiya hurled Ryūgen's severed head toward the Agakure forces. His voice echoed across the battlefield.
He still hoped that the Agakure shinobi would surrender. The fewer casualties Konoha suffered, the better. Even though their morale had been shattered, a continued fight would still cost Konoha dearly. Agakure still had a significant number of shinobi—slaughtering them all would co at a heavy price.
"Surrender? Don't be ridiculous!"
"We'll never bow to invaders! Do you think the shinobi of Agakure are spineless cowards?!"
"Even if we all die here, we will never surrender!"
Agakure's elite jōnin roared in defiance upon hearing Jiraiya's words. Their voices echoed with determination. Even though fear was evident on so of their faces, their sense of duty rekindled their courage. They knew that if they surrendered, Agakure would be in even greater peril.
They understood that continuing this battle ant almost certain death, but at the very least, they could take down so of Konoha's elite, reducing the burden on their holand.
"Then you've chosen death. Kill them all!" Jiraiya ordered coldly.
Without hesitation, he charged into the Agakure ranks, wielding the Lightning Fla Blade. Thunder and fire erupted with each swing of his blade, cutting through the enemy lines.
If they refused to surrender, then they would die.
Agakure's elite jōnin were occupied, locked in battle against Konoha's own elite. They had no chance to stop Jiraiya.
One by one, Agakure shinobi fell to his blade, their deaths swift and brutal.
"Jiraiya! I will never forgive you!" an Agakure jōnin roared in rage, watching his comrades perish. He lunged forward, attempting to stop Jiraiya.
"Your opponent is . And yet you dare be distracted?"
Uchiha Raiden intercepted him, his voice laced with fury. To be ignored in the middle of battle—it was an insult Raiden could not tolerate.
His Sharingan—three tomoe spinning rapidly—glowed with an ominous power. Within the Uchiha clan, this was already considered the highest level of the Sharingan, as many were unaware of the existence of the Mangekyō Sharingan.
The Agakure shinobi imdiately shut his eyes, unwilling to risk making eye contact with those terrifying eyes.
An Akimichi jōnin prepared to assist Raiden but was swiftly rebuffed.
"He's mine. Stay out of it."
Understanding the temperant of the Uchiha, the Akimichi jōnin simply turned and left.
Screams filled the battlefield as more Agakure shinobi perished under Jiraiya's blade. Maintaining Sage Mode, he was untouchable—no re chūnin could withstand him.
With Jiraiya leading the charge, Konoha's morale surged.

anwhile, at the rear of the battlefield, three Agakure jōnin observed the situation grimly.
"We can't hold Tetsuishi Town any longer. Harano-sama and the others won't be able to stop Konoha's forces either. At this rate, they'll be wiped out soon."
Their expressions were grave as they watched their elite warriors struggle. The jōnin fighting against the Nara and Akimichi clans had already been severely wounded—death was imminent.
"It's ti for our last resort. If we can take down this entire Konoha force with us, we'll ease the burden on Agakure."
"If they die here, Konoha won't be able to send another squad of this caliber."
One of the jōnin took a deep breath, accepting the grim reality.
"Still... it's frustrating. I thought we could hold out longer, maybe lure in reinforcents from the Land of Wind or the Land of Earth. I didn't expect us to fall this quickly."
Another jōnin gave a bitter chuckle.
Their trump card was sothing truly terrifying, and using it rely to eliminate this Konoha squad felt like a waste.
"No ti for regrets. If we take these Konoha shinobi with us, it's a fair trade."
With a final exchange of glances, the three jōnin unleashed their jutsu, directing their attacks toward a hidden array behind them.
The barriers they had set up in Tetsuishi Town didn't require shinobi to continuously channel chakra to maintain them. The town's mineral deposits contained a unique ore that could store chakra, which was then guided through the arrays to sustain the barrier.
To prevent Konoha from disabling their final contingency plan too quickly, they had buried these chakra-infused ores throughout the town instead of concentrating them in a single location. This ensured that destroying any single deposit would disrupt the barrier's integrity.
As their jutsu struck the array, the stored chakra was instantly disrupted.
The protective barriers over a key building began to collapse layer by layer.
Jiraiya, who had been advancing toward the structure, paused as he watched the barrier crumble.
Too late.
He had suspected that sothing highly dangerous was sealed within that building. That was why, the mont he breached the town's defenses, he had pushed straight toward it.
But the sheer number of Agakure shinobi had slowed him down.
With the chakra sustaining it now gone, the barrier collapsed rapidly. As the final layer faded, thick, dense purple mist began to seep from the building's highest window.
