But if you're standing still and just holding your breath, no one can manage to suffocate themselves this way!
The mont you lose consciousness, your body's instincts will resu breathing.
So, it's simply... impossible.
Claiming that willpower can override instincts does seem sowhat laughable.

Sasuke's Sage Transformation isn't innate it's achieved through the Curse Mark.
If he consciously chooses not to activate the Curse Mark, he won't undergo Sage Transformation.
The Curse Mark helps Sasuke suppress his instincts.
Thus, mastering Sage Mode shouldn't be too difficult for him!

With that, Sasuke began to close his eyes, focusing entirely on controlling the natural energy within him a challenging feat.

anwhile, the three Snake Princesses began questioning her.
"Why waste ti on this human brat?"
"It's obvious he can't succeed!"
Hearing their question, the White Snake Sage chuckled.
"Of course, he won't succeed. Willpower can never suppress bodily instincts."
"But in the end, he should just transform into a snake!"
At this point, the three Snake Princesses suddenly realized sothing they seed to understand what the White Snake Sage was planning.
The reason why the White Snake Sage agreed to such a seemingly pointless task was that she intended to turn Sasuke into one of the snakes of Ryūchi Cave.
And not just any snake, but one born with innate Sage Transformation a semi-complete Sage Body constitution.

Even the White Snake Sage was stunned.
