Chapter 107: Aizen's Grand Conspiracy

For ordinary people, a single month is often not enough to accomplish anything significant. They are exhausted by the daily grind, too busy just staying alive to even lift their heads and dream of sothing higher.

But this is not just their problem; it is the problem of an entire distorted world. Work, which should have been a source of fulfillnt, has gradually turned into pure hardship and suffering. The entire frawork of society is used to grind down people’s spirits.

Aizen could do nothing about that fundantal reality. He was no saint, and he did not have the power to solve such a practical, universal problem. All he could do was strive to do better within his reach—helping more people break free from their cages and beco individuals with enough courage to face the world.

Even in Konoha, a place already considered prosperous and peaceful, the spread of Moon Dream still could not be stopped, despite Aizen’s constant supervision. One can easily imagine how deeply the outside world has sunk into Moon Dream. Everyone carries their own pain and grief. This world is like a giant millstone, grinding love and peace into painful blood, which seeps into the soil and nourishes this land.

Peace has existed here before, and calls for peace have never truly stopped. Yet no one knows what true peace really is.

In those short-lived eras of peace, countless brilliant cultures and civilizations appeared, only to be utterly destroyed in sudden, inexplicable wars. The ninja world continues to repeat the cycle of creation and collapse, endlessly marching toward a predetermined fate.

Whether that fate is what the people of the ninja world truly desire, or whether it is a fate that should exist at all, is sothing those ignorant of the truth cannot understand—and sothing no one in power cares about. Their lives are worth less than dust to the “creators” of this world, who can crush them at any ti. That is the current reality of the ninja world.

Aizen simply found this world intolerable. Even if everyone here were treated as test subjects, he still refused to accept the idea that they should vanish so aninglessly. These people could have created a better world, greater value, and more inspiring possibilities, instead of being puppets controlled by a few invisible wills, endlessly tornted.

The reason he left Konoha was the sa. Konoha no longer offered him any real benefit. A third of the Hyuga clan and half of the Uchiha clan were already under his command, serving both as test subjects and as researchers. Add to that a long list of Konoha clans and their sealed forbidden chakra techniques. Above all, he now had Tobirama, the architect of Konoha’s entire forbidden jutsu system. For an independent research team, there was no more need to rely on Konoha.

Their later experints no longer depended on products from the real world, so there was no need to stay anchored to that reality. Entering the second phase of their research, they were confident they could even survive and develop in the void.

"Virtual dos, detection techniques, life creation, technologies that have nothing to do with chakra… Are these what give you the confidence to challenge the signal source?"

"It's still far from enough. If there is any hope at all, I’d say we should at least be thinking on the scale of a galaxy."

As Tobirama walked in, Aizen shook his head and focused his eyes on the research reports spread across the table.

He had been preparing for this for a long ti. Aizen’s gaze had never been limited to this single planet.

Even in the original world of ordinary mortals—who possessed no chakra, no jutsu of any kind—they still managed to develop terrifying forces capable of shattering heaven and earth, used as tools of deterrence in the na of “world peace.” That power was far more horrifying than any jutsu to “quell chaos.” A single creation imitating a star could already compare to the old man’s technique of “annihilating heaven and earth.”

And what about those hidden masterminds of the ninja world, the ones who appear only in vague legends, moving freely between planets? Could they destroy a world outright? Could they control an entire galaxy?

If he refused to consider that possibility and was satisfied with his current achievents, then Sosuke Aizen’s life would end at this level.

He even suspected that he had been under surveillance the entire ti. The core of this world was too fragnted, and all kinds of authorized chakra signals flowed constantly through the ninja world, radiating their influence everywhere. It wasn’t just the tailed beasts; there were also entities ford from dense emotions, and even phenona that had no chakra at all, only spiritual power spilling over and causing distortions.

There was never only one power system in this world. Compared to the pure spiritual structure of Soul Society, Aizen alone had already confird at least four distinct energy systems here.

Chakra, spiritual power, life force, and natural energy were the main ones in use. Chakra was a one-to-one fusion of spiritual power and life force. Sage Chakra was a one-to-one fusion of chakra and natural energy. Yet each of these base forces could act almost independently. In other words, the entire planet was like…

An incomplete test site.

Aizen frowned slightly at the thought.

When a petri dish is contaminated by bacteria, the usual solution is to clean it and replace it with a fresh dish.

If the records of this world and his own mories were accurate, then this ninja world—the breeding ground—must have run into problems during a previous cleansing and recollection. That is what led to its current, half-finished state.

From the fragnted information he’d gathered, the apparent “protagonist” of this world was supposed to be a boy from Konoha called Uzumaki Naruto. Yet in all the years Aizen had ruled Konoha, he had never seen a boy by that na. The surviving Uzumaki were only a handful, while the protagonist of Jiraiya’s perverted novel just happened to be nad Naruto.

Even in the worst-case estimate, within twenty years at most, this world would be subjected to a galaxy-level cleansing. All surface “contaminants” would be wiped out, and the planet reset to its original state, ready for a new cycle. If Aizen were in charge of such a project, that is exactly what he would do. After all, a planetary test ground was a rare resource even on a galactic scale. Artificial creation of one might not be impossible, but it was far from common.

So, was the signal from the moon artificial? And what about the other signal hidden within Madara’s body? Even knowing that both were dangerously suspicious, Aizen still dared not act rashly. Recklessness and planning can look similar on the surface, but in essence they are complete opposites. To try and communicate with a being capable of cleansing a planet’s surface without first preparing a mutually assured destruction backhand would be sheer idiocy. Only with that kind of power in hand could they be considered equals.

"Ever since the research entered the second phase, the number of things we don’t understand—and want to understand—keeps growing."

Aizen picked up the black tea on the table and took a small sip. His gaze dropped to a report describing the evolved state of the Byakugan, and his expression turned pensive.

"The chakra signal on the moon isn’t pure. There are scattered surveillance signals mixed into it, different from the main body’s chakra. In the worst case, it ans there are people on the moon monitoring the ninja world. That’s why we had to leave Konoha and co to the ruins of Uzushiogakure to build Hueco Mundo."

"A signal from the moon… I do have a clue. So records say that a mber of the Otsutsuki clan—the ones who first brought chakra to this world—ascended to the moon. Maybe that part of the legend is true."

"If there’s even a possibility, we should treat it as true."

Aizen tapped lightly on the table, looked over the mass of recorded data, then closed his eyes and thought in silence for a while.

"They might secretly hold the authority to destroy the entire ninja world. In any case, we can’t show them the real core of what we’re doing. But if this is a system developed independently by an ambitious individual, then we have room to hide things."

"What do you an?"

"Sotis, ambitious people have to send soone out to “save the world” so everyone else can sleep soundly."

Aizen opened his eyes and looked at the map of the ninja world spread out before him. A strange smile tugged at his lips.

People are afraid of the unknown. They fear things that cannot be seen, nad, or grasped. But once those things manifest in a clear, visible form, people feel relieved.

If those beings on the moon really are monitoring the entire ninja world, then Aizen’s defection is definitely within their line of sight.

A traitor leading so many followers is not the kind of man anyone would suspect of trying to “save the world.” Obviously, he must be using his resources to do sothing harmful to the ninja world.

After all, people always act with so kind of goal. As Konoha’s actual leader, once Aizen defected, his goal logically had to surpass that of any Hokage. So what kind of goal would be sothing the Hokage could never accomplish, sothing they would never dare to attempt, and sothing that must rely on completely new technology?

The answer, from Aizen’s side, was very simple.

"The age of shinobi is ending. A new profession, a new era, is going to appear in this world. What do you think of that plan?"

"I don’t really care. Just don’t forget that fra-manufacturing technology is my specialty. Make sure you ntion that when the ti cos."

"There probably won’t be any ti for publicity once the fighting starts."

You can try anyway.

"..."

Why are you so obsessed with getting your na on it? I don’t care at all.

Glancing at the strangely stubborn Tobirama, Aizen was, for once, completely speechless.
