After eating, I started getting ready to go to the Konoha library — this ti as a Genin, so the librarian wouldn't be able to pick on again.
'Aaaargh. I still can't get our last battle out of my head. I fought well, no doubt about it, but that ninja's motives and goals are still bothering . Was he a Jashin cultist? If so, I didn't know there were others besides Hidan. And then there's that mask...'
"Wait..." I glanced at the mask that was still attached to my waist.
'I forgot to give it to Sensei... it should serve as proof for sothing, right?' I stared at the mask as I walked.
The last ti I had touched it, I felt sothing strange, like an energy running through it. I didn't understand what it was at the ti, and I certainly don't now, but it's sothing I should try to investigate when I have more ti, especially since it ended up staying with .
I reached the library door and opened it — the place, as always, had that sll of old books and a deathly silence, broken only by the coughing of the librarian.
'I hope I don't have any problems this ti.' I walked towards the lady.
"Cough cough... cough..." She coughed.
"Um, excuse ... are you okay?" I asked, looking at that pile of wrinkles shaped like a woman's face.
"I'm... cough cough... I just choked on— Ah! You're the little boy from last ti..." She adjusted her glasses, looking up and down.
"And I see you're a ninja now..." She continued, pointing to the headband on my forehead.
"Yeah... But this ti I'd like to ask about another category of books." I replied.
"Right, last ti you were looking for sothing about the Senju, if I rember correctly. What are you looking for this ti?" she asked, punctuating her sentences with a few lingering coughs.
"I'm looking for sothing on dical ninjutsu. I think it'll be an interesting read."
"Hmm... right, I see your priorities have changed. Aisle 31-B, section 56. That's where the best books on ninja dicine are," she said, without having to think too hard about where the books would be.
"Thanks," I replied, starting to walk toward the section she had indicated.
'I hope I can learn the basics.'
It didn't take as long as I expected to find the dical books. A few people were milling around the area, so still dressed in their doctor and ninja outfits, while others walked around in civilian clothes.
I started looking at the books, searching for a title that caught my eye, until I ca across one that read:
"The Principles of Chakra Control: Empowering dical Ninjas"
"Well, that's pretty self-explanatory, right? I think that'll do."
I picked up the book, which was very clean, indicating that several people had read it, and then headed toward an area of the library where there were tables and chairs.
[You have acquired a book.]
'Ah. I thought I could just receive the knowledge from the book that way. Maybe later...'
Then I started leafing through the book, which began with more technical knowledge about ninja dicine, and then moved on to dical ninjutsu itself.
It ntioned that chakra control can be exercised in several ways, the best being to concentrate the chakra in a specific part of the body and hold it there for as long as possible, usually in conjunction with so other technique, such as kinobori.
'Just like the training Naruto and Sasuke do in the classic ani, I guess.'
I continued reading for a while longer, learning how to improve chakra control, but not how to actually perform dical ninjutsu.
I looked around and saw a female ninja doctor reading a book, so I decided to approach her. As I got closer, she looked up from her book and examined carefully.
"Excuse , could you help with sothing? I just started researching dical ninjutsu, but I'm still not quite sure what I should do, like where to start."
She adjusted her glasses and began to speak:
"Ah, so we have an aspiring dical ninja here? How interesting! I see you have a copy of 'The Principles of Chakra Control: Empowering dical Ninjas'. That's a great book to read, but if you really want to get started in dical processes, I recomnd starting with the book 'dical Ninjutsu: A Compilation of Human Knowledge'..."
She continued talking for a few minutes — using several terms that I didn't understand and causing to completely lose track of what she was saying — until she ntioned sothing interesting:
"... The best way to start is by finding a tutor who can effectively teach you the principles of dical ninjutsu. It will save you many hours of study, and also..." She continued.
'A tutor... if not Tsunade, who could I learn from?' I thought, ignoring the rest of what she was saying.
"... And also—"
"Um, thank you very much for your help!" I interrupted her, bowed gratefully, and walked away, with the book under my arm, heading toward the shelves to pick up the book she had recomnded.
[You have acquired a book.]
The girl was a little perplexed and didn't understand why I had interrupted her and left.
I walked back toward the reception desk, and this ti the lady was no longer coughing.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" she asked curiously.
"Yes, I got these two. How do I take the books ho?"
"Well, first you have to register..." She explained all the details.
I gave her my na, clan, and place of residence so that it could be recorded in her register, and I was finally able to leave the library with the two books that would help learn the basics of dical ninjutsu.
'That was more boring than I imagined...' I looked at the books in my hands.
'I hope I have the patience to read all this. I'll make the effort to avoid future problems in the battles to co!'
I intended to work hard — even though it would be a pain to read countless technical terms and learn the different parts of the body — because that was the only way I wouldn't be limited to a small range of skills.
*
I started walking back ho, and more and more new problems and conflicts kept arising that I would need to be willing to face head-on, or else I would be just another nobody in this ninja world.
As I thought about this, I ca across so ninjas who were discussing the recent events in Konoha.
"Yeah, I never liked that Danzou, but I expected more from a ninja of his caliber..."
One of them comnted, while the others agreed and continued the conversation, which, unfortunately, I didn't stay to hear the end of.
'So the scandals related to what Danzou did and what he planned to do have already been made public. Soon, people may start to sympathize with the Uchihas again. Obviously, this will probably take a few years, but things will definitely return to normal...'
I clenched one of my fists, which wasn't holding any books, when a thought invaded my mind, just as I neared my house.
'That is, if Obito doesn't destroy everything I plan to build... Maybe I should be more decisive in what I do to avoid conflicts like this...'
I shook my head.
"Okay. For now, I'll trust the Hokage, but at the first sign of trouble, I'll deal with the situation."
"Look, Mom, it's that boy who's always talking to himself." A child crossed in front of , holding his mother's hand, who pulled him away from .
"So young and so crazy..." she muttered as they both left Senju Park.
'ntal note: Don't externalize my thoughts in public,' I thought, blushing slightly, shy because they had heard talking to myself.
