Chapter 112: Seized

"Calm down, Fourth Raikage."

On the edge of an isolated island near the Land of Waves, over a dozen massive ships were docked.

On one of the largest ships, the Fourth Raikage stood on the deck, fists clenched, his rage boiling over. With a thunderous roar, he slamd the table in front of him. It shattered instantly, splinters flying.

"The priority now is to focus on what cos next," said an old man with a stern face and a bulbous red nose. He stood in front of the Raikage, calm despite the tension. "So... do we fight or not?"

"Fight! Of course, we fight!" the Fourth Raikage exploded. "What, are we just supposed to sit back and watch them form an alliance?!"

He slamd his fist into the railing, his breathing growing heavier by the second. His flared nostrils puffed out air like steam vents.

"What the hell are those three traitorous bastards doing? Did they forget their ranks as jonin? Don’t they realize that even if the timing is urgent, we can’t afford to rush blindly?!"

Onoki, the wizened Tsuchikage, remained composed despite the Raikage’s outburst. "Kinoshita may be a traitor, but he was still a top-class jonin. There must’ve been a reason they acted prematurely."

He crossed his arms and sighed. "Luckily, they shouldn’t kill Gato before we arrive with our forces. It’s early, yes, but not disastrous."

"If we’re going to make a move, let’s get it done. We gather our strength and strike the Land of Waves like we planned."

Onoki’s voice carried weight. "The Seagull Shipping Chamber of Comrce is the foundation of this alliance. With Gato—the head—now dead, the alliance structure’s been shaken. They won’t be able to finalize anything until they appoint a new leader."

"We have to strike while that chaos is fresh."

"Of course I know that," the Raikage growled, his gaze sharp.

Turning to the Kumogakure jonin behind him, he barked, "Stick to the plan. Everyone put on Konoha’s vests and forehead protectors. Move out—straight to the Land of Waves!"

"Yes, sir!"

With a flurry of chakra and black silhouettes, the jonin vanished, hopping from ship to ship as they set their infiltration into motion.

"Let’s hope this plan doesn’t blow up in our faces," Onoki muttered, giving the sa orders to his Iwagakure shinobi.

His eyes drifted toward the distant Land of Waves, a speck on the horizon. It looked so small—like a black bean floating in the ocean—but in Onoki’s eyes, it was a tightly woven spiderweb, just waiting for prey.

There was a curse mark on Gato, planted specifically by them.

His death was supposed to trigger the start of their assault on the alliance.

But this happening so early... it unsettled Onoki.

His instincts, sharpened by decades of war, whispered one clear ssage: this wasn’t going to go smoothly.

"Akutagawa! You better explain yourself. Why the hell did you act ahead of schedule?!"

Inside the forest of the Wave Country’s main island, three rogue jonin had just evacuated from the ancient castle after assassinating Gato.

Adan and Kinoshita, both looking furious, blocked Akutagawa’s path beneath the dense canopy.

"That bastard had a curse mark on him!" Adan snapped. "His death sets everything in motion. You realize what you just did?!"

Kinoshita stepped forward, his face dark with fury. As a forr Iwagakure jonin, he held more weight than Adan, who hailed from a minor village.

"Dammit, we nearly got ourselves killed because of your stunt! You’re lucky we pulled out when we did!"

Kinoshita looked ready to attack—but then paused.

Akutagawa stood motionless, staring blankly into space. His face was empty, as if he wasn’t even present.

"...Akutagawa?"

The sudden emptiness in his expression made both n instinctively step back.

Sothing was wrong. Very wrong.

Before either could react further—

Boom.

A crushing, invisible weight slamd down from above. Like a teor, it smashed both jonin flat to the ground.

They didn’t even have ti to scream.

Their bones cracked under the pressure, blood bursting from their pores, ears, noses, and eyes. They twitched violently—and then stopped.

Crack.

Their bodies sank into the earth, completely flattened, indistinguishable from chunks of bloodied at.

They didn’t even know who or what killed them.

Akutagawa was the only one left standing—still dazed, still staring into nothing.

"It’s honestly not fair. This kind of power? It’s straight-up cheating."

Ryosuke stepped out from the shadows, his tone calm as he surveyed the remains of the two crushed jonin.

He wasn’t one to monologue during a fight. He fought quickly and decisively.

This ti, he’d used the full power of his Byakugan’s gravitational pressure to end the fight in seconds.

They weren’t a threat worth dragging out.

"Fragile. Like tomatoes," Ryosuke muttered as he stepped over the corpses. "Feels like I’m not even a ninja anymore... more like one of those god-tier monsters you only hear stories about."

His gaze drifted toward Akutagawa, who remained in place—still under illusion.

The man hadn’t even realized what he’d done.

He was still trapped in Ryosuke’s Genjutsu, lost in a ntal space where he was "completing" a perfectly normal eting.

In reality? He had assassinated Gato like a puppet on strings.

Without missing a beat, Ryosuke moved south through the forest, while Akutagawa—still under his influence—ran off in another direction.

He couldn’t let Akutagawa die here. The deaths of Adan and Kinoshita needed an explanation, and Akutagawa’s "survival" would be part of it.

"Bla it on outside interference," Ryosuke thought. "Fra it like so third party tried to sabotage the alliance."

While moving, he opened a ntal channel.

"Hizashi, you there?" Ryosuke said, speaking telepathically through their established link.

"I’m here," Hizashi Hyuga responded from the castle.

"Good. First, calm the others. Make it look like this was a coordinated attack ant to derail the alliance. Use the whole ’mysterious enemy’ angle."

"Understood."

"Second, send soone to find the butler—the one organizing the ronin and setting up tables. Seagull Shipping has more than one person in charge. We need another face to step up and keep the eting going."

"Got it. I’ll make sure the alliance signing continues."

"Even if things spiral out later, it doesn’t matter. What happens next is already in motion."

Because Ryosuke had already seen a vision of the future.

A glimpse—fuzzy, but enough.

He didn’t need to micromanage every mont. He just needed the main events to follow the correct rhythm. As long as the core pieces moved into place, the rest would follow.

The only wildcard had been Gato’s death. That wasn’t supposed to happen yet.

Ryosuke hadn’t anticipated that the curse mark on Gato would be part of the enemy’s plan to trigger chaos.

It was only after seeing Adan and Kinoshita confronting Akutagawa that Ryosuke put it together.

Ironically, Akutagawa had rely followed orders Ryosuke planted in his illusion. He acted out the scene exactly as Ryosuke had seen it—but slightly earlier, which gave Ryosuke ti to prepare.

And with that early action ca the benefit of preemptive control.

In so ways, it worked out even better.

Even if chaos erupted later, Ryosuke had already seized the initiative.
