An elder from the Kurama clan brought the two individuals listed in the files. He wore casual clothes bearing the Kurama clan emblem. His face was lined with deep wrinkles, making him look older than the Third Hokage.
His eyes held a sense of hope.
It had been several months since the Kurama clan approached Orochimaru from the Technology Developnt Departnt.
During these months, the Kurama clan had, as per Orochimaru's request, provided all information regarding their bloodline limit that did not involve clan secrets, aside from the funds spent on equipnt and research.
They even allowed Orochimaru to draw blood from two clan mbers who had awakened their bloodline limit, cooperating for multiple examinations. The Kurama clan never refused to cooperate when it ca to such matters.
They thought that even if there were results, it would take at least a year or two. However, to their surprise, Orochimaru notified them of results within just a few months.
Of course, when he inford them, he only ntioned that they had developed a specific potion and technique to activate the bloodline limit, but whether it would be successful depended on the experints.
Still, the entire Kurama clan couldn't help but feel a hint of hope! They hoped for success.
The two boys brought by the Kurama elder looked sowhat similar, and the files noted that they were blood relatives.
Although the two boys appeared calm, there was an unmistakable tension in their eyes and bodies, along with a fear of the unknown.
Even though the experints related to Wood Release were highly classified, clans like the Kurama still heard so rumors.
After all, the remaining Senju clan mbers had disappeared in large numbers in a short ti. Officially, it was said that they had sacrificed themselves on missions, which only satisfied the ordinary villagers and ninjas.
Therefore, the Kurama clan was well aware of the dangers associated with bloodline limit awakenings. If the Uchiha clan hadn't succeeded, they would never have wanted to participate in such experints.
Kurama Masato didn't want to participate either.
However, his father, the clan leader, along with many elders of the clan, was extrely eager to restore the Kurama clan's forr power.
"Lord Orochimaru!" the Kurama clan representatives respectfully greeted him.
"Is this the test subject you chose?" Orochimaru's golden eyes fell on the two boys.
The brothers from the Kurama clan, Masato and Yōsuke, imdiately sensed that they were being watched by a terrifying beast. They felt paralyzed, blood running cold, unable to speak or move.
"Yes. Masato and Yōsuke are the children of the clan leader. They have high talent in genjutsu and are most likely to awaken their bloodline limit," an elder from the Kurama clan nodded gently.
"The consent form has been signed, right? This is a voluntary experint, and it carries certain risks. The consequences could be serious, even ending their ninja careers or resulting in death," Orochimaru reminded them.
"The Kurama clan understands," the elder replied firmly, looking at the brothers and tightening his grip on their hands, eting Orochimaru's gaze.
"Then let's proceed," Orochimaru said as he turned and walked ahead.
After a mont of hesitation, the elder from the Kurama clan resolved himself and stepped forward, leading the brothers to follow Orochimaru.
Due to Orochimaru's habits, the core research institute for technology developnt was located underground. The lights and corridors along the way made the brothers feel increasingly anxious.
They stopped in front of a door labeled "Bloodline Limit Experint Laboratory." Orochimaru opened the door and led the three Kurama clan mbers inside.
The room was spacious and filled with precise instrunts. In the center stood a bed surrounded by dense, tangled cables and devices, but everything was organized.
A slightly short figure was operating sothing at the instrunts, accompanied by two busy shadow clones.
"Orochimaru-sensei," seeing them, Kagetsu put down the potion he was holding and greeted.
"Is the experint ready?" Orochimaru asked as he approached Kagetsu.
"Everything is prepared," Kagetsu nodded.
"Then let's begin." Orochimaru signaled for one of the Kurama clan mbers to lie on the bed in the center of the room.
While Kurama Yōsuke hesitated, Kurama Masato stepped forward voluntarily, removing his shoes and sitting on the bed. Under the gazes of the others—so calm, so worried, and so complex—he lay down as Orochimaru instructed.
A layer of black shadows instantly bound Masato as if glued to him. Seals ford from various runes snaked up from around the bed, centering on Masato and disappearing into his back.
A heavy, hemispherical iron helt was pushed along the head of the bed, covering half of Kurama Masato's face and blocking his view. Then, a cold potion was poured into the corner of his lips.
Kurama Masato felt that his body had completely lost control, and everything around him was dark. Yet, in this situation, his mind beca unusually active.
This was a very strange state.
Kurama Masato felt as if he was neither fully awake nor asleep. His body felt incredibly heavy and unable to move, but his brain was overly active, weaving a hazy yet significant dream.
"What is this?"
The elder of the Kurama clan sensed the familiar chakra fluctuations from the bed, and a flicker of joy crossed his eyes.
It was the power of Yin Release!
In Kurama Masato's dream, influenced by the Yin Release chakra, even his ntal state was slightly affected.
That was the power of genjutsu! Even unconscious genjutsu could impact his spirit, soone who was also skilled in illusion techniques. Even without awakening a bloodline limit, once this power was mastered, it could turn soone into a strong ninja.
"It actually affected my five senses? What an interesting bloodline limit," Orochimaru said, licking his lips. His face showed a strong desire to study, as he intensely watched Kurama Masato, whose spirit and Yin Release chakra were being continuously strained by the effects of the potion, slowly awakening from its frozen dormancy.
"The experint needs to stop, Orochimaru-sensei. Otherwise, both his body and mind will completely collapse," said Kagetsu, looking at the real-ti data on the instrunts regarding Kurama Masato.
"Did we fail?" Orochimaru asked, sounding sowhat disappointed. However, glancing at the elder of the Kurama clan, he suppressed his rising desire to study.
Together with Kagetsu, he activated the sealing technique they had previously inscribed, cutting off Kurama Masato's overly active Yin Release chakra.
