Uchiha Fugaku didn't linger long in the Uchiha clan's secret hideout. Before long, he quietly returned to Konoha.
After more than ten days away, he was finally back.
This had been his longest absence from the village so far. Thankfully, he had mastered the Spore Clone Technique without it, he would've surely exposed himself.
Inside a hidden underground chamber—
"Let's see what happened in the village."
He placed his hand on the spore clone. Chakra flowed in reverse from the clone back into his body. The clone rapidly shrank and finally dissolved into spores that returned inside him.
At the sa ti, a stream of mories flooded his mind, informing him of everything that had occurred during his absence.
"Tsunade caused an uproar in Root…"
He was surprised and sowhat gloating when he learned that Tsunade had made a scene at Root.
Surprised at Tsunade's boldness; she had actually attacked Root directly.
And gloating because Danzo had picked the wrong person to provoke. This was sothing he would just have to swallow literally and figuratively.
Tsunade's status was exceptional. She was the granddaughter of the First Hokage, a junior to the Second Hokage, and a direct disciple of the Third.
With such lineage and backing, her position in Konoha was naturally unique.
Even if she assaulted Root, it was unlikely she would face any real punishnt. Danzo would have to suffer in silence this ti.
"I wonder what Danzo did to provoke her?"
He was puzzled.
Tsunade wouldn't attack Root without reason—Danzo must have done sothing to enrage her.
While Tsunade did have a fiery temper, she wasn't reckless. To anger her to the point that she stord Root, Danzo must've done sothing serious.
Unfortunately, the Third Hokage clearly had no intention of making the matter public.
No village council had been called, and no formal discussion was held. As a result, the reason behind Tsunade's actions remained unknown.
"Could I possibly draw Tsunade in and have her join against Danzo…?"
The thought of recruiting Tsunade crossed his mind, but he dismissed it almost imdiately.
From the current situation, it was clear Tsunade harbored deep resentnt toward Danzo—otherwise, she wouldn't have attacked Root.
However, despite her disdain for Danzo, she had no fondness for him or the Uchiha clan either.
She would never ally herself with the Uchiha to go against Danzo.
"Nothing else significant seems to have happened…"
Other than Tsunade's rampage at Root, the past ten or so days had been uneventful in Konoha.
After fully absorbing the mories of his spore clone from his ti away, Uchiha Fugaku pulled out two sealing scrolls.
One scroll contained a large number of corpses from the Kaguya clan; the other contained more than a dozen corpses from the Yuki clan.
This was the harvest from his recent journey to the Land of Water.
"Let's start with Ice Release."
He undid the seal, and a Yuki clan corpse appeared in the chamber.
His eyes transford into Mangekyō Sharingan. The pattern in his left eye began to spin rapidly, and a pitch-black vortex erged.
He tossed the Yuki clan corpse into the vortex.
As the vortex vanished, the corpse began to dissolve in a dark fluid, rapidly lting away.
Simultaneously, a unique bio-organic tissue began to form.
It flowed from his left eye, spreading throughout his body and reacting with his cells.
Unlike the usual burning sensation, this ti an intense chill spread through him.
He involuntarily shivered, feeling as though he had been thrown into an ice cellar.
A faint white mist drifted from his body, frost ford on his skin, and his eyebrows turned white.
After a while, the Yuki clan corpse had completely lted. The formation of the bio-tissue ended, and the icy sensation dissipated. His body returned to normal.
At that mont, he felt sothing distinctly different.
He could sense that, if he willed it, he could now condense ice. Clearly, he had acquired the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai.
"Ice Release…"
Without performing any Ice Release jutsu, he directly used his body's new ability to form ice.
Crack—
A cone-shaped shard of ice, roughly the size of a fist, floated in his palm.
With a thought, the ice shard shot forward and shattered against the chamber wall.
"This is nowhere near Yuki no Natsu's level."
Uchiha Fugaku shook his head. It was far from being comparable to Yuki no Natsu's Ice Release Kekkei Genkai.
The Yuki clan corpse he had refined did contain the Ice Release ability, but the bloodline was clearly very diluted.
He had expected this outco, so he wasn't disappointed.
"Unseal—"
He unsealed two more Yuki clan corpses and, using both hands, tossed them into the lting vortex.
The sa process occurred once more.
Icy mist spread around him, frost coated his skin, and his entire body was plunged into cold.
This ti, the chilling phase lasted even longer. When it was over, his body ward up again.
Crack—
He activated Ice Release. A sharp ice spike burst from the floor, erging in the chamber.
Its tip glead and emitted wisps of cold air.
"That's a noticeable improvent."
Fugaku nodded. Compared to before, the strength of his Ice Release had clearly increased.
It still wasn't on par with Yuki no Natsu, but it was already quite powerful.
To achieve such results without even using proper Ice Release techniques once jutsu were added, the power would be vastly amplified.
"Continue."
He unsealed two more Yuki clan corpses and fed them into the lting space.
Having gone through it twice already, the process repeated yet again.
However, this ti, his body showed signs of adaptation to the cold. No frost ford on his skin—only a faint chill radiated outward.
After the refining ended, his Ice Release grew even stronger.
He continued refining more Yuki clan corpses. Eventually, all dozen or so were absorbed.
As a result, his Ice Release Kekkei Genkai reached an extrely powerful level—surpassing even Yuki no Natsu's.
Yuki no Natsu was indeed gifted, but Fugaku had consolidated the Ice Release from over a dozen Yuki clan mbers. It was only natural his bloodline power surpassed hers.
"If I can master the relevant Ice Release jutsu, then even relying solely on Ice Release, I'd be strong enough to reach Kage level."
"With a technique that's Kage-level apart from my Mangekyō Sharingan, things will beco much easier moving forward."
Feeling the imnse power of his Ice Release Kekkei Genkai, Uchiha Fugaku was very satisfied.
His Mangekyō Sharingan was indeed formidable, but at tis, maintaining secrecy required him not to use it.
In such situations, having another Kage-level ability like Ice Release made all the difference.
By using Ice Release in combat, he could keep his true identity hidden, and his enemies—and their backers would never suspect it was him.
