Upon seeing Uchiha Fugaku, the expression on Shimura Daisuke's face morphed rapidly in a matter of seconds—
Shock, astonishnt, horror, realization… and despair.
The mysterious Wood Release kekkei genkai ninja who had been giving Konoha such a headache… turned out to be Uchiha Fugaku.
Astonishnt and disbelief hit him first.
Then ca the horror and sudden understanding—horror at how deeply Uchiha Fugaku had hidden himself, and understanding why Fugaku had set his sights on him.
Given the history between the Shimura and Uchiha clans, it would have been odd if Fugaku hadn't co for him.
Then ca the despair.
There was no way Uchiha Fugaku would let him live. He had no hope of survival—certain death awaited him.
"Well then, I've told you everything you wanted to know. Now that you've learned the 'truth,' I'm sure you can 'die without regrets,' right?"
Fugaku smiled as he slowly walked toward Shimura Daisuke, killing intent cloaking him like a heavy mantle.
"Uchiha Fugaku, I curse you!" Daisuke snarled venomously.
"One day, your identity will be exposed. When that happens, there won't be a place for you or the Uchiha Clan in all of Konoha!"
"That day will never co." Fugaku replied, still smiling.
"In fact, I believe the day will co when the Uchiha Clan rules Konoha."
"Konoha was founded by the Uchiha and Senju Clans. It's about ti the Uchiha took the reins."
The "Wood Release kekkei genkai ninja" already existed as a real person—Fugaku had rely borrowed that identity.
Even if the truth ca out one day, the na tied to the Wood Release wouldn't be Uchiha Fugaku, but the missing-nin Uchiha Obito.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
Suddenly, Daisuke, who had looked hopeless and resigned, swiftly ford hand seals.
He opened his mouth and launched a high-pressure sphere of wind capable of pulverizing the human body—straight at Fugaku.
Whoosh—
But Fugaku rely scoffed, his eyes glinting with disdain.
"Eight Gates Technique—Sixth Gate: Gate of View, Open!"
A green aura surged around him, boosting his speed severalfold.
In a blur, he sidestepped the vacuum sphere and appeared beside Daisuke.
Squelch—
A sharp branch stabbed into Daisuke's body, shredding his internal organs—including his brain.
He was dead before he hit the ground, eliminating any possibility of mind-reading or mory probing.
As for his corpse, it would only be destroyed after it was brought back to Konoha for burial.
After all, how else would they pin the bla on the mysterious Wood Release ninja?
"Finally showed yourself."
High above, nestled in the branches of a tree, a human-like face erged—White Zetsu, who had been tracking Shimura Daisuke and his group.
He stared excitedly at the figure disguised as Uchiha Obito.
Had he not known Obito was currently in Kirigakure, even he might have been fooled.
"Incredible stealth techniques. I didn't even notice you until you revealed yourself. I can't wait to see your true face."
White Zetsu's foot rged with the tree roots, tapping into the underground chakra and water channels to transmit the ssage back to his base:
"Soone impersonating Uchiha Obito has been found."
"Mangekyō Sharingan!"
Suddenly, White Zetsu's face froze in utter shock.
The impostor's right eye had turned blood-red, with a unique black pattern spinning within.
A Mangekyō Sharingan.
But it was neither Obito's nor Shisui's pattern—it was a third one altogether.
Soone other than Obito and Shisui had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Pure disbelief.
He had originally thought this person was just a decoy to ss with Obito… but now he realized he was facing soone far more dangerous.
Squelch! Squelch! Squelch!
Grueso wounds began to appear on the bodies of over a dozen of Daisuke's n—burns charred their skin black, so were impaled by invisible weapons.
Blood gushed like fountains, painting the area red.
One by one, the bodies collapsed to the ground, spasming briefly before falling still.
"Dead?"
With his sensory abilities, White Zetsu could clearly feel the life force draining from all of them—every single one had died.
It was… bizarre.
All the impostor had done was reveal his Mangekyō Sharingan.
The soldiers froze as if entranced—and then they died, one after another, in grotesque and inexplicable ways.
White Zetsu hadn't even seen the impostor attack.
A visual jutsu.
That had to be it.
Whatever jutsu this man possessed, it was far more terrifying than Obito's Kamui.
Even he, a master of stealth and espionage, felt a chill creep down his spine.
"This person definitely possesses Uchiha blood. But is he a mber of the Konoha Uchiha Clan… or soone exiled long ago?"
Zetsu speculated.
The man could use the Mangekyō Sharingan with complete mastery—it clearly wasn't a transplant.
He was a genuine Uchiha.
Whether or not he was tied to Konoha's Uchiha Clan, though, was harder to determine.
Many disappeared without a trace during the three Great Ninja Wars—he could very well be one of them.
And since the exchange between Fugaku and Daisuke had taken place within a genjutsu illusion, Zetsu had seen and heard nothing.
"Eight Gates Technique—Third Gate: Gate of Life, Open!"
Suddenly, green light surged again around Fugaku's body.
Trailing afterimages, he charged straight toward a particular tree.
The one hiding White Zetsu.
"Damn! I've been found!"
White Zetsu panicked.
He had been careful not to leak any chakra or intent—but sohow, the impostor had still detected him.
Whoosh—
Without hesitation, Zetsu began to ld into the tree, diving rapidly underground in a desperate attempt to flee.
