Sasuke stared at him like he'd grown a second head. "You idiot. Use your brain. Can Toneri beat Neji? Even if he could, can he beat Natsuki? He's done. He's going to lose. And that Tenseigan will beco research material. Don't you rember what Natsuki said? We're going to use Ōtsutsuki to beat Ōtsutsuki."
"This is Ōtsutsuki power. We should be the ones to exploit it. If we research it properly and raise a whole group of Six Paths-tier fighters, then when the Ōtsutsuki clan invades, we crush them. This is about the shinobi world's survival. Do you get it or not?"
Naruto went stiff.

If you fly into a rage over everything, how do you lead a village? How do you lead shinobi? You're still a long way off. If you want to beco Hokage, you need more trials. Learn to control your emotions first."
Back then, Sasuke himself had lived on the edge of losing it, consud by hatred, always one step from spiraling.
It was Natsuki who had pointed him toward restraint, who taught him to stay cold-headed. That was why Sasuke had grown so quickly, and why he'd learned to think most clearly precisely when things mattered most.
Because that was how you break deadlocks.
That was a leader's essential trait.
Naruto opened his mouth, then shut it again. In the end, he couldn't say a single word back. Even if he wasn't the sharpest, he understood Sasuke was right.
But it left a bitter lump in his chest. He'd chased Sasuke for years. He'd finally caught up in strength, but in every other way he was still behind. No wonder everyone said he wasn't ready to be Hokage yet. It wasn't just paperwork and decision-making. He hadn't learned calm. He hadn't learned to think.
He really was still far away.
Hanabi, anwhile, reached up and touched Sasuke's face without thinking, praising him brightly. "Sasuke-nii is so handso!"
Sasuke actually felt his cheeks heat. He rembered how, when he was little and praised Nii-san, Nii-san would look proud and embarrassed at the sa ti. Maybe they really did have the sa kind of personality.
He quickly changed the subject. "Alright. Let's get you out of here first. Neji's going to get impatient. That giant eye… we leave it to Orochimaru. He'll understand it better than we do."
Naruto didn't object. The three of them headed back the way they ca.
On the other side, after blasting Toneri away, Neji only took one breath before rushing him again. He didn't care about talk-no-jutsu. He didn't care about Toneri's story. He only wanted to beat him into the ground.
How dare he dig out Hanabi's eyes?
How dare he set his sights on Hinata?
Neji only had two little sisters. How dare this bastard?
If they didn't need Toneri as research material, Neji would've torn him apart on the spot.

The familiar technique made Neji pause for a fraction of a second.
So that was how it was. Descendants of Ōtsutsuki… different branches, sa destination. Toneri could use the sa kind of move too.

Neji launched his own, driving it out with palm force. The tornado he created was bigger and denser. In the next heartbeat, the two storms collided.

Toneri's tornado was crushed. Neji's storm kept pushing forward, ready to swallow Toneri whole.
Toneri imdiately accelerated upward, shooting high into the air and barely slipping out of range.
He snapped, half-unraveling, "You stole my technique!"
Neji laughed. "When I used this move against Kaguya, you didn't even have eyes yet. So tell , who stole from who? How do you even have the nerve to say that out loud?"

Toneri refused to accept it. "I don't believe it! I just ca up with that!"
Neji's mockery sharpened. "All that proves is how ignorant you are. The whole shinobi world knows I can use this. If anyone saw it, they'd say you copied . Of course you would. You live alone on the moon with zero information, narrow-minded and sealed off. You don't understand anything, yet you run around doing whatever you want and calling it 'justice.' What's the point of soone like you even existing?"
Toneri went blank for a mont. Why had this suddenly turned into a personal attack?
And worse… Neji was denying the aning of his existence.
He was the descendant of Ōtsutsuki Hamura. He had inherited Hamura's will. If the shinobi world was nothing but endless war, then it was a failed world.
Wasn't destruction the natural conclusion?

Toneri cracked. He flew even higher and used gravitational force to yank teors down, smashing them toward Neji in a frenzy.
Neji only sneered.
That kind of attack might work on fodder, but against soone who also possessed the Tenseigan? It was useless. Did Toneri really not understand that?

Neji deliberately decided to show off, to force this sheltered idiot to open his eyes and see what real skill looked like.
