No one had any objections to an arrangent like that.
Orochimaru really was the shinobi world's greatest scientist. Killing him would be an enormous waste. Letting him make ands by researching the Ōtsutsuki's power—so long as he produced results, so long as everyone could learn to wield that kind of overwhelming strength—then the shinobi world's future calamities would no longer be a problem.
Neji, however, looked surprised. "So Shikotsumyaku really is the Sage's bones inherited from the Ōtsutsuki? That explains it. I kept thinking Kaguya looked weirdly familiar—so it's because she resembles Kimimaro a bit!"
Sasuke added, "Kaguya used bones to attack. Her techniques were very similar to Kimimaro's Shikotsumyaku."
That made everything click.
No wonder Kimimaro had been so formidable—his bloodline ca from the sa source.
Orochimaru also sighed. "If I'd known earlier that Shikotsumyaku was the Sage's bones, I would've invested far more in researching it. I wouldn't have wasted such excellent material. But luckily, Kabuto has a sample of Kimimaro's bloodline on him. We can make use of it when the ti cos."
This guy still wasn't going to let Kabuto's corpse go, huh?
Well, fine. It was only extracting a bloodline sample—probably not a big deal.
Seeing that everyone was on board, Natsuki didn't mind sharing more intelligence. "As far as I know, the Ōtsutsuki tend to operate in pairs, moving from place to place to plant God Trees and harvest energy. So Kaguya didn't co to this world alone. Where her partner went… that still needs investigating. We might even be able to find that person and use them as a research specin.
"Also, the Sage of Six Paths' younger brother, Hamura, went to the moon back then to stand guard. His bloodline is also the Byakugan, and they have a main house and branch house too. But it seems the branch house rebelled and wiped out the main house, then tried to fuse all the Byakugan together to evolve into the Tenseigan. They may have co down from the moon before—and their target is the Hyūga clan."
How did you even know sothing that important?!
And shouldn't you have said it earlier?!
Everyone glared at Natsuki, but considering his strength—and the fact that he'd received "dream ssages" from the Sage of Six Paths—no one pushed it further.
Neji recalled, "You ntioned that to before. So… are they coming down?"
Natsuki nodded. They couldn't afford to ignore it. And it would probably be dangerous.
Orochimaru, the most sensitive to danger in the room, imdiately grasped what Natsuki ant. "So the Ōtsutsuki faction on the moon are enemies, not allies. Natsuki-kun wants to capture anyone who cos down… as research material?"
"More or less," Natsuki admitted. "They've lived on the moon the whole ti. Their Ōtsutsuki blood should be relatively purer, which should help your research."
Sasuke said, "Kaguya's partner also needs to be investigated. We should assign people to look for them."
Other than nodding, there wasn't much else to say.
This plan seed solid. If any problems showed up later, they could address them then.
Before long, the eting finally ended.
With the ti about right, the Allied Shinobi Forces announced their disbandnt. Everyone would go ho—back to their own villages, to their own lives. As for how the eting's decisions would be carried out, each village would handle its own responsibilities. Rewards for ritorious shinobi and the like would be handled after everyone returned. Right now, people were simply eager to go back.
As for Orochimaru, observers would naturally be assigned, and a laboratory would be arranged as well.
None of that required Natsuki's involvent.
Hashirama even urged him, "Natsuki, use Hiraishin to take back first. I want to see what Konoha looks like now."
Natsuki looked at Tsunade. When she nodded in agreent, he imdiately used Hiraishin to bring a whole group back—mainly village leadership and a few friends.
As for everyone else… they could make the trip the normal way.
A group appeared at Konoha's gates, eyes full of emotion.
Hands on his hips, Hashirama wore a hocoming grin. "Hahahaha! Konoha… it's been so long. I wonder what it's like now!"
Natsuki cut in briskly, "Tsunade-sama, since you're their granddaughter, you can take your two grandpas around. Tenten and I are leaving."
And with a flash—he vanished.
Tsunade couldn't help cursing with a laugh. "That brat—where's the 'Hokage's aide' attitude? The second he finds a chance, he runs off to slack. Just you wait, I'll deal with him later!"
"Now, now, Tsuna, don't be so strict," Hashirama said, waving a hand. "Natsuki's done more than enough. In battle and after the war, the role he played was bigger than even you, the Hokage. Letting him be lazy once in a while is fine."
Tsunade shrugged. She wasn't truly blaming Natsuki—she was just complaining.
Tobirama, on the other hand, said, "It's a headache. Soone that exceptional… and he still doesn't want to be Hokage."
Hashirama, Minato, Tsunade, and Jiraiya all agreed. He was clearly the one most suited to being Hokage, yet he had zero desire for it. What were you even supposed to say to that?
Naruto just laughed with both hands behind his head. "That's Natsuki! He's not interested in being Hokage—he'd rather spend all his ti with Tenten. And if we're talking Hokage, I'm definitely the better choice, dattebayo!"
Everyone turned to Naruto, then shook their heads.
His strength was more than enough, sure—but he was completely unsuited to being Hokage.
That jumpy personality, that painful lack of brains, that dull political sense… it was hard to imagine how disastrous Konoha would beco if you put it in his hands.
"Hey! What's that supposed to an?! I really am suited to be Hokage!" Naruto protested.
"Sure, sure, you're suited to be Hokage," Minato soothed him helplessly. "Naruto, take ho first. Your dad wants to see where you've been living all these years."
Naruto imdiately brightened. "All right! Dad, co with !"
As Naruto and Minato left together, the others also split up. Tsunade and Jiraiya naturally accompanied the two grandpas around, showing them Konoha's prosperity. Before long, the entire village knew the First, Second, and Fourth had been revived.
In an instant, the village was in an uproar again.
Natsuki and Tenten didn't care about any of that. They went straight to the ninja tools shop. Once there, they shut the place down for business, then sat with the shop owner to discuss the biggest event of all.
The owner was trembling with excitent. "So… you two have finally decided? You're getting married?"
Natsuki and Tenten held hands, solemn and sincere. "Yes. The war is over. The shinobi world is entering a period of peace. We want to get married, so we ca to discuss the process with our father-in-law—Dad."
The owner looked deeply gratified. "You're finally getting married. I've waited so long for this!"
And hadn't he?
These two had been in love since they were six or seven. They constantly clung to each other right in front of him, this old father, all lovey-dovey—then they'd gone and crossed the line early, too—yet they still refused to marry that young. And since they were still on the young side, it wasn't suitable to have children yet, which made his desire to hold a grandchild grow downright desperate.
After that, Natsuki's fa only grew, to the point where the owner started feeling a real sense of crisis—afraid Natsuki might abandon Tenten. And people tried to make moves on Natsuki every other day. Especially this ti: after Natsuki beca the great hero who saved the shinobi world, even more people ca asking whether he wanted to marry a few more wives, which made the owner so angry he wanted to kill soone.
But thank goodness.
These two were finally getting married.
