"Hehe, I can show off my ultimate art again!"
High in the sky, Deidara, with the mouth on his chest chewing clay, shouted in exhilaration.
His last self-detonation took out five Kage; this ti, it would wipe out the entire Konoha Village!
No matter how, his explosive art would leave a profound mark in ninja history. Even if only for a mont, it was enough to make Deidara proud and satisfied.
This was the true glory of art!
Unexpectedly, the glory he failed to achieve in life was realized after death.
It was a pity that the arrogant Uchiha brothers seed to have left Konoha Village, missing a chance to deal them a crushing blow, which left Deidara slightly dissatisfied.
But it wasn’t a big deal—there’d be plenty of opportunities later. For now, he’d focus on enjoying this precious chance to showcase his art!
Deidara’s C0 self-detonation was nearly complete. His body gradually turned transparent, just one step away from shrinking, and he could execute his final explosion.
He stood, leaping off his clay bird, timing it perfectly to detonate mid-fall for maximum airburst damage.
"Hahaha!"
"Konoha Village, the big one’s coming!"
"Witness my unmatched fleeting art!"
At that mont, a red chakra dragon illusion burst from the Hokage Rock in the distance.
Byakugeki no Jutsu!
A violent tremor and impact swept through most of Konoha Village, hitting Deidara’s body simultaneously, disrupting his chakra ridian system and forcibly halting his C0 self-detonation!
*BOOM!*
The interrupted C0 explosion detonated prematurely, engulfing a few hundred ters in the air, but its range was ten tis smaller than the intended blast...
Instantly, the Konoha ninjas below were stunned, and Kakashi halted his Kamui.
Those familiar with the technique recognized it imdiately—it was Yakushi Kabuto’s Byakugeki no Jutsu.
That guy was actually saving Konoha Village?
How bizarre!
But quickly, Deidara’s exploded body reassembled via Edo Tensei. Landing on a prepared clay pigeon, he cursed furiously:
"Damn it! Who ruined my art?!"
"That would be !"
Kabuto’s voice echoed from the Hokage Rock. Wearing a hooded cloak, he stood atop the Third Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen’s statue, smirking at Deidara.
"You?!"
Deidara was stunned. He rarely saw the real Kabuto and certainly didn’t recognize the drastically changed Dragon Kabuto.
He assud the enemy was a hidden Konoha ninja.
But soone recognized him instantly.
High in the sky, Nagato, controlling Pain’s Tendo, descended slightly, looking at Dragon Kabuto on the Hokage Rock.
"Kabuto, it’s you!"
"Oh my, I’m flattered Nagato-sama recognized so quickly!" Kabuto replied with a smile, showing no trace of tension.
"You’re the one reviving these ninjas with Edo Tensei?"
"Of course."
"You want to oppose Akatsuki?"
"Not oppose, just a little cooperation with Konoha."
"Cooperation?"
"Mutually beneficial, of course. Honestly, I’d prefer to work with your organization."
Kabuto was slippery, lacking any firm stance and disliking Konoha Village.
If Nagato and Akatsuki could et his demands, he wouldn’t hesitate to stab Konoha in the back.
"What do you want?"
"Give Uchiha Sasuke! I’ll join your organization imdiately and help destroy Konoha, no problem!"
Hearing this, Nagato hadn’t reacted yet.
Below, on Konoha’s battlefield, Tsunade, Kakashi, and those in the know paled.
They knew Kabuto wasn’t trustworthy, but they didn’t expect him to be so utterly devoid of loyalty, betraying faster than eating or drinking.
No shred of allegiance!
In a few words, he was ready to sell out all of Konoha.
Kakashi hurriedly used a jutsu, preparing to activate a forbidden seal, but he realized all the restraints and seals originally placed on Kabuto were now ineffective.
Clearly, trying to bind a successor who rivaled, and in so ways surpassed, Orochimaru with petty tricks was a pipe dream.
Of course, whatever Konoha’s ninjas thought below didn’t affect the negotiation between Kabuto and Nagato.
Especially since they were in a crisis, with Akatsuki’s assault never stopping, most Konoha ninjas were still caught in the war’s vortex.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
"You want Sasuke?"
"Correct!"
"Not possible. Pick sothing else."
"I have only one goal: Uchiha Sasuke. Nothing else!"
"Then there’s no need to negotiate. You can die too!"
Nagato had no ti for nonsense. He’d never betray his comrades, even Sasuke, whom he didn’t fully approve of in Akatsuki.
He only gave Kabuto a chance to live because his Edo Tensei was troubleso.
Not because he was irreplaceable.
With or without Kabuto, nothing would stop Konoha Village’s destruction today!
"Wait! If you can’t decide, let the person behind you co out and talk to !"
"The person behind ?"
Kabuto ant the masked Obito, unaware that Nagato had already defeated him. But to Nagato, it sounded like sothing else. Who was behind him? Naturally, the Tenshou Sennin!
Could Kabuto want to bypass him and negotiate with the Tenshou Sennin?
How absurd!
Having only learned Edo Tensei and Sage Mode, did he really think himself invincible?
Daring to negotiate with the Tenshou Sennin—wasn’t that a slap to his own face?
If he couldn’t handle Konoha Village and Kabuto, forcing the Tenshou Sennin to negotiate, what was the point of uniting the ninja world?
Fury surged in Nagato. He imdiately added Kabuto to his kill list.
"Looking to die!"
Nagato wasted no more words, controlling the Juubi to condense a Bijuudama, aiming at Kabuto’s position, ready to send him straight to the Rikudo Sennin!
Seeing this, Kabuto wasn’t surprised, as if he’d expected it, and sighed:
"Ugh, negotiations failed."
"I’ll need to apply so pressure to earn a seat at the table!"
Kabuto had long considered stabbing Konoha in the back, but he needed to force out the masked man or the mastermind controlling Akatsuki.
Only then could he negotiate or make a trade!
Without enough power and trump cards, others would just swallow you whole, with no interest in negotiating.
Especially since Kabuto’s goal, from start to finish, was a pure-blooded Uchiha ninja for research.
But with Sasuke as an Akatsuki mber, the enemy wouldn’t easily hand him over.
Kabuto had only been testing the waters, but now it seed that had failed.
He needed to show enough power and trump cards to make the enemy wary!
Kabuto clapped his hands, and a familiar coffin quickly appeared beside him.
This ti, without waiting for him to open it, the coffin lid was smashed from within by a single punch, and an arrogant, wild figure stepped out.
