Kagami's suggestion left everyone stunned. Seize control of the daimyos of all four major nations? If that were possible, Konoha could secretly control the entire ninja world, averting a devastating war and preserving their strength. After the initial shock, a flicker of excitent appeared in everyone's eyes. The idea was brilliant.
"While the thod is good," Shikaku said, ever the pragmatist, "the daimyos are protected by their own shinobi. If they discover their leaders are under an illusion, Konoha will beco the public enemy of the entire world. Sir Kagami, can you guarantee your illusion will not be detected?"
Kagami understood the concern and nodded with a confident smile. "Don't worry. Since I dared to propose this idea, I am naturally one hundred percent certain of its success." Using the pupil power absorption thod he learned from Black Zetsu, he could completely absorb the power of Itachi's Mangekyo in a single day, which would almost certainly evolve his own Sharingan into the Eternal Mangekyo. Additionally, his clone had developed a new type of illusion by combining barrier techniques from the Jujutsu world with this world's genjutsu. Once the daimyos were under his control, no other ninja would ever be able to detect it.
"Then let's proceed as Sir Kagami says!" Shikaku stood and said respectfully. "We'll begin preparations at once!"
To evolve his Sharingan as quickly as possible, Kagami returned ho and imdiately began the absorption process. A day later, he opened his eyes. A pair of Sharingan with a new, more complex pattern now resided in his sockets. It was the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, the upgraded form of his original eyes.
A smile touched his lips. "My theory was correct. As long as I absorb the power of another pair of Mangekyo, my own will evolve." He could imdiately feel the difference. There was no longer any strain when he activated his eyes, and his pupil power was more than ten tis stronger than before.
A second pair of eyes then opened at the corners of his primary ones—Itachi's Sharingan. They had faded to a turbid, grayish-white, their light completely extinguished. But Kagami didn't care. Sacrificing Itachi's eyes was a small price to pay for his own evolution. The abilities of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi were diocre in his opinion, so he felt no loss.
He tested his new pupil techniques and found that both of his signature abilities had been greatly enhanced. His short-range teleportation had increased from 1,000 ters to 10 kiloters, and at full power, he could now create a black hole the size of a ping-pong ball, increasing its destructive force countless tis. While this ultimate attack no longer caused blindness, it would render the ability unusable for a full year, though he suspected that ti would shorten as his pupil power continued to grow.
What made Kagami most happy was that he could now use his defensive ability, Limitless, without worry. Previously, the high chakra consumption had forced him to use it sparingly, but now, with the Eternal Mangekyo, he could maintain the 5-centiter barrier around himself almost 24/7. This was equivalent to having a permanent, infinite-distance defense, greatly reducing the possibility of being caught off guard. As long as it wasn't a space-ti attack, he was virtually untouchable. However, maintaining the barrier around the clock ant he couldn't use his other ocular jutsu without draining his reserves. This, too, could be solved by absorbing more Mangekyo Sharingan in the future.
After familiarizing himself with the changes, Kagami closed his eyes and took out Obito's Sharingan. Without a mont's hesitation, he gouged out the now-useless Itachi eyes. The sharp pain barely registered on his calm face as he replaced them with Obito's.
Since he didn't intend to absorb Obito's power, he opened his eyes imdiately after the transplant. He noticed that under the influence of his newly evolved Eternal Mangekyo, Obito's Sharingan was already slowly beginning to evolve as well. It would likely take about six months to complete the process naturally.
Kagami didn't want to wait that long. He took out Madara's Rinnegan. He planned to absorb so of its power to accelerate the evolution of Obito's eyes. While the Rinnegan was powerful, Kagami felt Obito's Kamui was more useful. He didn't absorb all of its power because he hadn't yet mastered Yin-Yang Release, a prerequisite for awakening his own Rinnegan. Besides, he had two pairs of eyes to evolve, and one pair of Rinnegan might not be enough.
Furthermore, he wanted to see if Orochimaru could clone the Rinnegan. It would be a waste to completely drain the only pair he had. It was better to wait for Orochimaru to succeed, and then absorb the clones. He didn't know if a Rinnegan devoid of pupil power could still be cloned, so it was better to be cautious.
With his decision made, Kagami began to absorb the power from Madara's legendary eyes.
